    Good-
Looks amazing, thanks to excellent animations and impressive attention to detail; A charming, easy-to-pick up adventure; Solid level design and fun collectibles encourage exploration; Platforming can be a lot of fun, especially when stringing multiple maneuvers together; Witty and well-written; Excellently animated cutscenes.
Bad- Lacks the complexity you might expect from most

    Bad-
Lacks the complexity you might expect from most Metroidvanias; Total lack of combat is a bit disappointing; Uneven boss fights.

    Thoughts-
If those are the sort of expectations you’re going into Disney Illusion Island with, there’s almost no way you’re not going to have a good time on at least some level. It’s a Metroidvania platformer, yes, but it’s much more easygoing and relaxed than the sort of games you’d ordinarily associate that category of games with. It’s bursting with charm, whimsy, and personality, and delivers consistently fun platforming. Even if it never really delivers something on a gameplay level that you’ll be thinking about days after you’ve wrapped up its 6-8 hour adventure, as a whole, it’s an easy game to recommend to all players, regardless of skill level or familiarity with the genre.

Pretty fun and beautiful game, I liked the AD and charadesign a lot (Floyd Gottfredson style a little)
The only cons is the miss of the challenge

A beautiful and fun little metroidvania game made for kids and couch co-op. Area designs and platforming design is amazing however lacks the challenge that you would typically find in similar games. Overall a fun gem worth the price point. Definitely get this if you're looking for a game to play with friends or partner.

A fun and wonderful odyssey to be a hybrid different from what Disney has accustomed us to, it is very interesting if it is true, it copies elements of blasphemous and rayman but does them manually

Well designed, beautiful and a joy to play with all the family, A great introduction to metroidvania and a classic platformer.

The perfect sequel of the "Illusion" games. Hoping for a dlc with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Feels very much like a reskinned 2D Metroid game! The art is really fun and the gameplay overall is very engaging. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I highly recommend this game.

The "chillest" game you will play this year. Great metroidvania based strictly on platforming. Impressive amount of world-building and cutscenes, you will easily sink for like 10 hours to collect all the items in the game. Runs fabulously on Switch, with a minor hiccups in some of more intense boss battles, but nothing game-breaking.

This is probably the best metroidvania to start your adventure with the genre (beside Yoku's Island Express).

It's a world so well-designed that the whole passage feels like a trip to a beautiful 2D environment. [Issue#330]

Disney Illusion Island might not appeal to those who want non-stop hardcore platforming thrills, but there’s more than enough challenge here for those who look for it.

Disney Illusion Island may not rewrite the Metroidvania handbook nor does it ever feel particularly challenging, but what it does, it does exceptionally well. Throughout the six-hour journey, my wife and I couldn’t stop smiling; between the colourful worlds and their light puzzly-platformy layouts, enchanting soundtrack and fun banter between its four main leads. Disney fans will adore everything about this game while those looking for a more laid-back, less demanding adventure will appreciate what’s on display too.
