Aug 3, 2022Fantastic game, the story is truly incredible and has such surprising turns of events

Aug 1, 2022Really a perfect match for me, VN combined with exciting strategic combat. VN part is really top notch and the fighting is almost as good. The darker tone and great writing is a big plus, with English voice acting it would haver been a solid 9.

Aug 1, 2022I mean if you are mad after hearing the director of the game tell you it is 70% graphic novel you are a looser and you need to get a life. Great graphic novel with a dash of strategic RPG elements, grow up you man children with nothing better to do then **** on other peoples’ attempt to entertain you.

Aug 8, 2022One of the best turn based strategy games. Digimon games become better every year, cause they mature like their audience. This game is a dark nouvelle with story which changes depending on your choices, which gives it great replaybility. 10/10

Aug 4, 2022El mejor juego de digimon de lejos. Una visual novel con toques tacticos que recuerda a la primera serie de television, con giros inesperados y momentos epicos.

Aug 14, 2022I enjoy the game for what it is -- a visual novel with tactics-esque battles and a darker, mature story compared to pokemon.
With more polish on both the storyline and battle system, this could have been a total home run.
I truly appreciate them trying something different and enjoyed the playthroughs -

Aug 18, 2022For me, this is the best visual novel I've ever played (and I've played a lot). Cool plot, good dialogues, interesting narrative, cool storytelling, intriguing plot twists and very interesting ideas for the digimon franchise. And the fights. The gameplay is really cool for a TRPG. Very deep and interesting fights. 10 out of 10.

Aug 14, 2022the game is great, as a visual novel you end up capturing its plot and story. The tactical RPG system is also entertaining.

Aug 13, 2022Digimon con historia mas adulta, una visual novel con un dibujo artístico precioso, me ha encantado.
-
Aug 3, 2022Astonishingly portrayal of teens dropped in an unknown world full of monsters, danger, and deep connections.
-
Aug 1, 2022True to what they do. If you haven't watched any of the shows or played any of the games you would get it! If this is your first time then that's great to. There is nothing to complain about other than poor advertising. From day one they said it was a visual novel.

Aug 3, 2022Great game! The VN is amazing and the story is really cool. The combat is like FF Tactics which I like really like! The story has many twists and turns that make your head explode.

Jul 31, 2022Great game, sadly it is being bombed by people who didn't even read about the game before buying.
Definitely one of the best Digimon games lately. -
Jul 31, 2022Havent played it but just wanna help bring the review score up because people didnt know it was a visual novel (even though it was advertised as one)
-
Jul 31, 2022Absolutely amazing game, feels like playing a season in the show and I look forward to how different choices affect my second playthrough, always loved reading books so I ain't got no issues with the mainly visual novel format lol
-
Jul 31, 2022People are so petty. This is a very decent visual novel, smashed together with an FFT game, and coated in horror paint. I love this direction and if the developers are out there: please keep going this way. I love the story heavy stuff; make a new keychain bobble for all the nerds that are bellyaching about not getting a one dimensional PS1 era monster-raising sim. Ffs.

Jul 31, 2022Great game! Digimon is back baby! Been a long time coming but it has been worth the wait.
-
Jul 31, 2022The story is interesting it especially manages to tell a traditional digimon tale of bonds with digimon and people but also have horror aspects without trying to shove it down your throat

Jul 11, 2023Digimon Survive should have a lot of depth, with partner Digimon evolving and devolving, free-roaming Digimon to recruit, and a vibrant cast of characters who, on the surface, are generally enjoyable. Looking at the game from afar, it truly captures a feeling of desolation and nostalgia. But it comes up just short when it comes to gameplay and story—the two most important things for an SRPG and visual novel hybrid. A “Truthful” path awaits as a New Game+ option, but the gameplay shortcomings, unfortunately, aren’t alleviated with repeat playthroughs. Digimon Survive‘s charms aren’t fleeting by any means, but neither are its disappointments.
-
Nintendo Force MagazineDec 22, 2022With its mature themes, Digimon Survive provides a refreshing take on the franchise and fits into the series' canon in a really cool way. I hope we get more Digimon games exploring new directions like this! [Issue #63 – January/February 2023, p. 73]

Nov 18, 2022I love visual novels, and I love strategy games. For a subsection of gamers, Digimon Survive will hit the perfect sweet spot between both of those. It’s got everything you’d expect from a digestible entry with a focus on presentation. However, I couldn’t help but feel that the game is just shy of greatness. Make no mistake, Digimon Survive is good. However, despite its best efforts, I found that the pacing drags and the combat mechanics are unremarkable. If you have enough patience to engage with its story and gameplay, the positives will far outweigh the negatives. It’s flawed, but the heart shines through and it goes down easy thanks to being one of the best-looking anime-style games released in years. Are there better SRPGs to play right now? Sure, but none offer Digimon’s unique brand of SRPG and I think it hits more than it misses.
