Jun 23, 2026Dialoop is one of the strangest genre combinations I’ve played this year, and I mean that as a compliment. Its blend of puzzle-solving, roguelite progression, relic-based customization, and anime- and pop-culture-infused presentation creates an experience unlike much else on Nintendo Switch. The core mechanic of shifting entire rows and columns is genuinely clever, while the relic system provides enough depth to sustain long-term engagement. At the same time, the game struggles with onboarding, occasionally buries players beneath layers of complexity, and sometimes sacrifices readability for spectacle. The visual noise and occasionally overwhelming systems prevent it from reaching the heights of the genre’s very best. Still, for players willing to invest the time required to understand its mechanics, Dialoop offers a rewarding and refreshingly original take on both puzzle games and roguelites. It may not become the next indie sensation, but it absolutely earns points for daring to be different.

Jun 17, 2026Dialoop’s roguelite structure and unorthodox take on match-three puzzling make it a pleasingly original oddity, even if it lacks the depth and refinement of some other deck builders.

Jun 24, 2026While it undoubtedly has general simplicity on its side, and some goofy charms, it fails to really stand out as a must-buy action puzzler.
