Dec 8, 2017Cat Quest is an ideal little RPG to introduce to youngsters, especially given the charming pun-filled script and plentiful kitties, but those jumps in difficulty can mean a helping hand may be required on more than a few occasions. Despite its looks, though, the older generation with a love for all things feline will find a lovely, if short, Zelda-like adventure worth giving a go.

Dec 6, 2017As polished as Cat Quest may be, it does have a few downsides. The strong focus on cats and endless supply of cat puns is obviously not a world everyone will want to immerse themselves in – especially if you are a dog lover. However, if you are willing to overlook this and the basic design, what is on offer is a functional role-playing game that can be played for short or longer periods of time by players of all ages and cat lovers alike.

Nov 29, 2017Cat Quest is a purr-leasing experience that pits cats against dragons in table-top action adventure. The combat provides engaging feedback whilst the cat-izens offer plenty of – mostly humorous – cat-based puns that both draw you into the world of Felingard.

Nov 21, 2017Cat Quest is a mobile phone game turned Switch RPG that has an adorable facade, cat puns, and not much else.
-
Nov 19, 2017Cat Quest is strongly hindered by its original mobile game nature, but even with the excessive simplification of mechanics and short longevity it can bring a smile to gamers, providing to be accessible even for inexperienced players.

Nov 14, 2017This is a game that is aware of its goofy setup and relishes in a sea of cat puns and insanity. It’s not a terribly long game - I rolled credits within a few hours - but it’s a fun romp with a straightforward and entertaining action RPG style. Cat Quest is a game that likely won’t stick with me for too long, but it was a pleasant time basking in cat gags and beating up on foes with swords and magic.

Nov 14, 2017Cat Quest’s combat can get stale and the lacklustre dungeon design definitely hampers exploration, but the surprisingly entertaining story and cool loot system is enough to keep you engaged to see it through to the end, if, you’re playing in short bursts.
-
Nov 13, 2017It remains true that Cat Quest is a hugely reductive game that strips the RPG formula to its very roots, and that lack of depth becomes tiresome towards the end. I'm glad that this is not a game that outstays its welcome, but at the same time it's not a game I'll remember, beyond that adorable skipping run of my adorable little furrball.

Nov 28, 2017After a few hours you’ll find the constant combination of magic, standard attacks and rolling out of the way eventually gets a wee bit repetitive. Still, considering it only takes five hours or so to beat, it doesn’t overstay its welcome too much and as the credits roll you’ll be happy with the charming adventure you’ve just had.
