Jun 18, 2020Fifty dollars might seem like a hefty price tag to pay for a set of games, considering the “latest” game in it is six years old, but the Borderlands Legendary Collection offers so much value and content to justify the price tag. However, it is possible to buy the games separately if you’d like. With the literal hundreds of hours of gameplay that can be played anywhere you go, The Borderlands Legendary Collection belongs in every action game fan’s Switch library.

Jun 5, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection for Nintendo Switch is a great port that looks great. It allows us to complete all the stories in this great compilation. Humor, shots, blood, explosions, a robot, what else do we need? Maybe the whole game in a single cartridge.
-
Aug 3, 2020Borderlands brings a wealth of looter-shooter action to the Switch, guaranteeing you countless hours of co-op grinding as you blast your way through all sorts of alien creatures and various shenanigans. All of the original charm and humor are intact as well, and the game runs fantastic and with the inclusion of all the original DLC, you won't be getting bored anytime soon!
-
Jun 23, 2020The Borderlands series was better then I expected. Get over 200 hours of gameplay with this Legendary Collection of the first three Borderlands games. If you’re a fan of first-person shooters, then I highly recommend the Borderlands Legendary Collection on Nintendo Switch.
-
Jun 18, 2020The collection offers a wide range of experiences suitable for any shooter fan. In solo play, the Switch combines an absurdly addicting grind with true pick-up-and-play functionality, and if you have a few friends who grab the games as well, get ready for some long, intense sessions full of wacky humor and action-packed quests. I’ve enjoyed some Borderlands in my time, but now that I’ve gotten a taste of the fully realized flexibility of portable loot-’n-shoot action, I’m not sure I ever want to play the series a different way again.
-
Jun 18, 2020All three games in Borderlands Legendary Collection are very nearly flawless. There’s perhaps just a little too much to-ing and fro-ing; and as you go from one game to the other you’ll find that the series hasn’t evolved all that much over the years. Still, if you’re into looting and shooting, you really can’t go wrong. Gyro aiming is built into the Switch versions of these games, too, adding a new gameplay dimension. Needless to say, whether you’re a fan of the series or someone interested in jumping in, Borderlands Legendary Collection is outstanding.
-
Jun 11, 2020The Borderlands Legendary Collection is an astoundingly tantalising package. Featuring Borderlands 1, 2 and Pre-Sequel with all the DLC crammed onto a single cartridge, this deal seems almost too good to be true. The games run fantastically on the Switch in both portable and docked mode, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll prefer to eschew those tiny Joy-Con analogue sticks in favour of a far more comfortable Pro controller. This is an excellent way for newcomers to jump into the Borderlands series, and an even better way for old fans to play through the games again with the added benefit of portability.
-
Jun 10, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is an incredible port, suffering very little slowdown or visual impairment. If you missed this series before, now's the perfect time.
-
Jun 10, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is a great way to experience the first three games in the series on the Nintendo Switch. The games play as their original counterparts (well, Game of the Year edition for the original) and run about as smooth as their original counterparts both docked and in portable mode. As you're also getting just about every DLC add-on for all three games, $50 is definitely worth picking the collection up for the portability alone. Who knows, maybe if this does well we might just see Borderlands 3 on the Switch someday.
-
Jun 1, 2020This collection is truly legendary, includes three of the best looter shooter ever, with additional content and one of the greatest multiplayer (online and split screen).
-
Jun 5, 2020After the Borderlands 2 fiasco on PS Vita, it is a joy to once again have timeless classics and still full of humor and good gaming experiences gathered in a single package for Nintendo Switch, where we mainly recommend be played on handheld mode.
-
Jun 5, 2020It feels a bit outdated in light of the improvements implemented in Borderlands 2 and 3, but it still hold up surprisingly well. The Pre-Sequel gives some backstory to on one of the franchise’s key characters, Jack; and Borderlands 2 gives Handsome Jack center stage in what is probably the best game narratively as well as in its more refined action. These base games along with all their respective DLC make the Borderlands Legendary Collection a great value of action-packed insanity, on the Switch or any other platform. Come on, little one! Time to die!
-
Jun 3, 2020A decade of gaming in a single package, the latest return to Pandora still stands tall as a testament to brilliant game design, and even with a few technical concessions along the way, it makes for one handsome pack of fun.
-
Sep 8, 2020Sure, this is the first time they’ve graced a Nintendo platform, but that only means that if you’re in that elusive “Nintendo-only gamer who likes shooters” demographic, you owe it to yourself to pick up the Borderlands Legendary Collection. For everyone else, though, it’s harder to see the value proposition. Pick it up if you want these games on the go, but be aware that you’ve had up to ten years to play some of these games on other platforms, and this doesn’t bring anything new to the table.
-
Jun 17, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is exactly what it needs to be: a port of the first three Borderlands titles for the Switch. They run and look great, but they come with expected compromises, like a capped frame rate and a few issues with pop-in. While there's no hiding that the Borderland titles are on the older side, they are still fun to play with friends online. If you're up for a way to play these titles on the go or want to experience them for the first time, the Switch versions are definitely up to the task, and that is what matters in the end.
-
Jun 9, 2020What we have here is the whole Borderlands franchise up to the third installment for a fraction of their original price and with ports handled with great care. Don't miss it if you love looter shooters.
-
Aug 3, 2020For hardcore fans, you’ve almost definitely already gone ahead and bought Borderlands Legendary Collection and I say more power to you. I may not have the connection to the series that other players do, but I can confidently say that this is one of the strongest Nintendo Switch ports I’ve played and a fantastic compilation of games.
-
Jul 21, 2020As Switch ports go, this is definitely up there with the best. Turn Me Up Games have done a great job is stuffing so much gameplay in to a small cartridge (even if the game will still take up over 12GB of space on your console or SD Card), and if you have never played these games before, then this really is a viable option. However, as with all three of the 2K Switch collections I cannot help but mention that these games are available on all modern consoles, and at a much cheaper price. So, if you already own a PC, PS4 or Xbox One, those might be the better ways to go.
-
Jul 3, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is a good compilation of three very good games, but be aware that they need a lot of download before playing them.
-
Jul 3, 2020As a huge fan of the Borderlands series, the Legendary Collection gives me almost everything I could've wanted – a solid port that runs well and finally does the series justice in handheld form. The steep asking price and lack of new content is unlikely to sway all existing fans, but the bundle is must-have for newcomers.
-
Jun 19, 2020The Borderlands Collection finally brings the series to the Switch without compromise. It plays well and looks even better than I expected, even in handheld. The humour definitely isn’t for everyone, but it’s hard to not be sucked into the world of Pandora. While I won’t hold my breath for a Borderlands 3 port, the rest of the series on the go is a more than reasonable trade. The collection provides great value, while the price is a little high, there is easily over 100+ hours of content. If you’ve sunk many hours into the series in the past now there is a way to play it anywhere. If you’re a newcomer it’s about time you made the trip to Pandora.
-
Jun 17, 2020A true bang (pun intended) for you buck, the Borderlands Legendary Collection boasts three games in the series, that their port to the system was handled with extreme care. It's a shame we don't get a performance mode for silky smooth plays, but what's here is great.
-
Jun 15, 2020All three games present in Borderlands: Legendary Collection are well worth a play by themselves. Packed together, they represent an excellent deal on the Nintendo Switch. They play perfectly in both docked and handheld mode, and they look and run as great as anyone could hope on the hybrid system. These don't feel like compromised versions of the originals in any way, and this should be applauded. This is only held back by the lack of a proper physical release, because those are big games to download, and the heavily loot-based gameplay of the series, as well as the difficulty of the later two games, may not be to everyone's taste.
-
Jun 8, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is the definitive edition of the series, except for the absence of Borderlands 3. It arrives on Nintendo Switch with an excellent conversion.
-
Jun 6, 2020A package as rich as it is refined, capable of offering the public over a hundred hours of ballistic fun and crazy adventures.
-
Jun 5, 2020A great Switch port that packs in an incredible amount of content and comes with relatively few technical issues.
-
Jun 5, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is an excellent Switch showing for this beloved series, though it's difficult to determine if the price is right; sure, there's an enormous amount of content here so you're certainly not being ripped off, but it's old content and these games are routinely extremely cheap on other services. Still, it's a technically excellent port of three expansive, enjoyable shooters, and they're a perfect fit for the Switch. Whether played alone or with pals, the compulsive gameplay is terrific to dip into or get stuck into for a massive grinding session. If you've somehow never played Borderlands before, you can't go wrong with this set. If you have, but want to try a different character class on the bus ride home, now's your chance.
-
Jun 5, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection brings the unique charm and craze from the beloved saga to the Nintendo Switch hardware, and despite the many technical limitations one might expect from it, we’re actually beholding a pretty good looking bundle, one that also happens to include an absurd amount of content and top notch refinements.
-
Jun 4, 2020The question of whether I would recommend you getting the Borderlands: Legendary Collection is a simple one. If you haven’t played the Borderlands games before and don’t own another system that can play them, these ports are an amazing and great way to play the games. If you have played the Borderlands games before, this collection does a great job of presenting the games you’ve loved and adds the benefit of handheld play and all previously released DLC. But be aware that for the visual and performance aspects you will not get the same experience as on other consoles or PC. Still I commend 2K and Turn Me Up for giving the Borderlands series a great treatment on the Nintendo Switch.
-
Jun 4, 2020Borderlands Legendary Collection is a fantastic compilation of Gearbox’s prototypical looter shooter series. Fans and newcomers can set out to Pandora on Switch, safe in the knowledge that very little has been lost, while the portability and optional motion controls add something meaningful to the experience.
-
Jun 3, 2020This is a fantastic version of there great games, even if Borderlands 2 holds up better than the rest. Whether this is the first time you play them or if you just want to play the first three games anywhere, the Legendary Collection is a fantastic choice.
-
Jun 3, 2020While it may not be my cup of tea, Borderlands Legendary Collection is a solid collection of games, and an admirable addition to the Switch’s library.
-
Jun 8, 2020Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jun 4, 2020All three of these games are exactly what you’d expect from other versions: the same shootin’, lootin’, and possibly rootin’ and tootin’ found on other platforms. However, this style of game is a great fit for a portable console and may be worth double dipping if you’ve never played the DLC before.
-
Ninty Fresh MagazineJul 16, 2020The ten-year wait for Borderlands Legendary Collection on a Nintendo console was too long, and its indiscretions are now much harder to overlook. [Issue 1#1, p.52]
-
Jun 16, 2020Despite the hype, Borderlands Legendary Collection never once delivered the thrills and spills I expect of a shooter. Irritations in the controls, the general gameplay, and the plodding storyline reduced my enjoyment to a minimum.
