Perfect Handheld Borderlands experience, no matter how many times I have bought this game. On Nintendo Switch...it’s a completely new way of Borderlands Experience. Not like on Vita, there were massive problems with framerate.

The good news about this port of Borderlands 1, 2 and the Pre-Sequel is that it has been properly optimised for Switch. It runs at 1080p30fps and even keeps a stable framerate in splitscreen mode which makes it far superior than the PS3/Xbox360 versions of these games.

However there are two major issues that in my opinion cannot be overlooked: First of all there is the poor way 2K

However there are two major issues that in my opinion cannot be overlooked:

First of all there is the poor way 2K handled the physical release of the game. I could have accepted if it required additional downloads since not all 3 games would've fit on one cartridge. But instead all they did was put half of the first game on the cartridge (which therefor requires and additional download) and only provided a download code for the other 2 Borderlands games. This means that if you want to trade or share your copy of the Borderlands collection you will only actually be able to do that with the first game since the other games are now strictly tied to your account. This is unacceptable.

My second gripe with the Borderlands Legendary collection is that nothing has been done to improve the very floaty and unresponsive controls. I don't know if improving this is simply impossible on a engine level but nonetheless this results in the controls feeling almost as bad as the original console release for Xbox360/PS3. Even the inclusion of gyro aim can't remedy that since it also suffers from being very unresponsive and floaty. It is straight up the worst gyro implementation I've experienced on Switch so far.

All that being said, if you just want to experience the old games as they are with some upgraded visuals this is a fantastic way to play Borderlands. Also it's fantastic that with the Borderlands collection there are finally some high profile shooter finding their way to Nintendo Switch.
It's a good port of 3 quality games which unfortunately retains a lot of the issues from the original release.

Finally getting great ports of fantastic games on switch. Not everyone bought a switch for children’s games. The games look and run great. Which is surprising, given how weak the switch’s hardware is.

Really good NINTENDO Switch version, except games only on NS,I’ve bought The Witcher 3,Diablo 3,FIFA19,Divinity and Borderlands collection, although I already have PC versions of these games for several years.Like Divinity / Diablo, it has a good optimization for NS.So,if U love Borderlands, don't hesitate anymore, just buy it!!!^_^

I was excited when I heard that the first three games would be making their way to the switch. Who doesn't love a little portable looting and shooting? I have finished the main game and the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and can report that they are as wonderful as I remember them being; however, (and I skipped Moxxi's as I hated it when I first tried it and am not willing to go down that path again) I have found that there is a game-breaking issue in General Knox's Secret Armory that I don't recall encountering back on the PS3. The Prison Break: Over the Wall mission has become impossible for me to complete as I cannot launch my vehicle over the prison wall--something I recall doing on my first attempt on the PS3. I've spent more hours at it than I care to relate here and can find no sweet-spot from which to complete it. I inevitably fall short. As this is a story ending issue, it has forced me to close out that DLC and move on to the next one. A brief search of the web reveals that I'm not alone in this problem. I hope that Gearbox can work on a patch or workaround. By some reports, they added rocks to the landscape to stop a "cheat" where players were able to scale the wall if they fell short and landed on the outside ledge. Alas, this wonderful revisit to Pandora has come to an untimely end. Expand

It's Borderlands but on Switch. For the 5 of you who have never played a Borderlands game here's the elevator pitch.

You're one of 4 (or 6) murderous vault hunter with a unique ability who loots, shoots, explodes, zaps, freezes, burns, and acidify bandits, robots, and **** up looking wildlife with millions of different guns. There are two main reasons why you would want to play this.

You're one of 4 (or 6) murderous vault hunter with a unique ability who loots, shoots, explodes, zaps, freezes, burns, and acidify bandits, robots, and **** up looking wildlife with millions of different guns.

There are two main reasons why you would want to play this. You love looter/shooters and you have a crude sense of humor. Unlike Destiny or Anthem or that Ubisoft game the guns in Borderlands is and always has been interesting. There are no two similar guns and even have different part skins to correspond with their aspects. A good example is a pistol with one having a larger mag size. So the gun is generated with the part that looks bigger.

There are 6 types of guns (Shotguns, pistols, etc) valued at 5 different rarity (white thru orange like WoW) with a few "alternate" rarities like Eridium Tech all comboed with 8 gun "brands" who all look and feel different. Jacobs weapons are all single shot but can be fired as fast as you can pull the trigger. Bandits are huge mag size rappid fire guns, etc. Granted these only apply to the last two newest games for 2 and pre sequel. The first one it's more minor differences. You level up, get new weapons, and update your talent tree which is akin to WoWs old talent system. The quests range from okish to extremely entertaining. With some of the best DLCs in here like Tiny Tinas assult on Dragonkeep, Claptastic voyage, or Secret armory of General Knoxx.

The games have countless different bosses that drop unique and awesome legendary weapons. There is a lot of mindless fun to be had. The only issue is that at the end of the day it is just a grindy game. Farm bosses, level up, farm specific loot for best in slot weapons and items, rinse and repeat. The performance for all these games are flawless. The Pre Sequel is the only one that chugged a few times on the frames. But other than that all perform and look fantastic. A extremely well done port job

Bottom line if you don't mind grindy games then this is the collection for you. Between leveling up all the classes to max, 2 different new game plusses in BL2 and BL Pre Sequel, and all the guns to collect. You are look at hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours. BL2 at 100% complete can take 200 hours if you take it slow. And that's on ONE character for ONE full playthrough for ONE game in a 3 game pack. Chances are if you buy this it'll last you till the switch has been discontinued no doubt about it.

As I was playing the first borderlands, I came up with a new description for it - "boringlands". I kept playing it, hoping that the next one will be better. And oh boy, it delivered.

I absolutely love this series and I am joined by my friend in game because we enjoy playing together during this quarantine. Borderlands 2 ran completely smooth in multiplayer, but so far the pre sequel refuses to run smoothly without someone lagging and or glitching. We have tried to reset both of our routers, switching who was hosting, etc and none of that worked. Fun and a good game, you can easily put 100 hours into it.

Actually preferred playing the switch over the pc version, although control was a bit less smoother on the switch version.

Borderlands on the Nintendo Switch is an absolute JOKE. I can not understand all of the good ratings. Not at all. The massive input delay (about 0.5 seconds!) makes this game almost unplayable and definitely completely unenjoyable. Even with aim assist the aiming in this game is so bad that I am constantly frustrated. I paid 40€ for this. How is it that other, MUCH older ports (like Shadow Man, for example) manage to have flawless, smooth controls, while for such a big title, the game hasn't been optimized at all? Do not buy it! Just don't! The experience you will get is nothing like on the consoles (XBox 360 / PS3). Expand

Sure, this is the first time they’ve graced a Nintendo platform, but that only means that if you’re in that elusive “Nintendo-only gamer who likes shooters” demographic, you owe it to yourself to pick up the Borderlands Legendary Collection. For everyone else, though, it’s harder to see the value proposition. Pick it up if you want these games on the go, but be aware that you’ve had up to ten years to play some of these games on other platforms, and this doesn’t bring anything new to the table.

Borderlands brings a wealth of looter-shooter action to the Switch, guaranteeing you countless hours of co-op grinding as you blast your way through all sorts of alien creatures and various shenanigans. All of the original charm and humor are intact as well, and the game runs fantastic and with the inclusion of all the original DLC, you won't be getting bored anytime soon!

For hardcore fans, you’ve almost definitely already gone ahead and bought Borderlands Legendary Collection and I say more power to you. I may not have the connection to the series that other players do, but I can confidently say that this is one of the strongest Nintendo Switch ports I’ve played and a fantastic compilation of games.
