Jun 4, 2020This Switch version is hands down the best way to play these games. They hold up remarkably well in 2020 thanks to the engaging story and memorable cast of characters.

Oct 14, 2019The Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced Edition bundle is a great opportunity for anyone who missed these classics to see what all the fuss is about.

Nov 27, 2019Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II shine beautifully on the Nintendo Switch thanks to some excellent optimisation on the console and a brilliant control scheme. It can seem convoluted initially, but this is nevertheless inspired stuff from Beamdog, who has pioneered a new way of playing isometric RPGs with a gamepad. Everything about the Enhanced Editions is slickly presented, even if the games themselves show their age in their outdated mechanics. Still, this is worth playing for the RPG fanatic and provides a stellar history lesson on the forefather of modern role-playing games.

Oct 28, 2019Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions, despite the age, still feel like more modern games. Aside from the massive amount of content, that alone makes this purchase worth it. The unique gameplay keeps these games interesting. The story and quest are enjoyable and worth a play. At the price of $49.99 it certainly worth considering since it has over two-hundred hours of gameplay available.

Oct 21, 2019While having a port of these two classic RPGs are lovely, it’s not without technical problems playing handheld.

Oct 14, 2019Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Editions aren't magical ground-up reworkings or spectacular remasters; these are games that are showing their age in many ways and there’s no doubt that some of the more recent tributes to the glory days of the Infinity Engine – games such as Divinity: Original Sin or Pillars of Eternity – are, in many ways, more readily accessible and appealing to modern audiences. However, these are still classics of the genre that are absolutely worth persisting with. Once you get to grips with some of their more antiquated ways you’ll be handsomely rewarded with some of the deepest combat, best writing, voice-acting and characters you’re likely to find in the genre. The Switch really is turning into an RPG-lover’s dream machine.
-
Oct 15, 2019The quality of these two legendary games remains intact, but the controls don’t work well with consoles, and makes the PC version remain undefeated. This does not mean, of course, that both titles can be enjoyed in these new platforms.

Oct 14, 2019Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Pack is a return to one of the best known and most prestigious sagas in history. This port to Nintendo Switch allows us to play, in portable mode, one of the best role titles that exists. However, despite the great content, it does not give us any motivation to play this title again for more than 20 years.
-
Nov 2, 2019This remaster of the two Baldur's Gate games features content that's well enough for hundreds of hours though it's impossible not to notice how dated the two games come across. While this remaster essentially targets experienced players and doesn't try to conquer any new audiences, the result is a job well done that will certainly fit well with the fans.
-
Oct 14, 2019Baldur's Gate I & II Enhanced Edition is nothing more than a port of the remasters previously released on PC, clustered in one single cartridge for the Switch. The content is massive, as all the expansions are part of it, but the series deserved a little facelift.
-
Dec 6, 2019We can enjoy the mythical saga of Baldur’s Gate in portable mode, but everything is overshadowed by its poor quality, its poor controls and with hardly any improvements in the graphic section or at least not in a remarkable way.
-
Nov 12, 2019A CRPG classic whose story holds up, though suffers from a cumbersome control scheme, sound bugs, game crashes, and seemingly poor optimisation. If you are keen to try out these classics, unfortunately the Switch version is not an ideal way to do so.
