Baldur's Gate is a classic and a masterpiece, and its sequel might just be better (depending on who you speak to). Brought together in a comprehensive and complete package, not only do you get hundreds of hours of some of the best RPG action ever conceived, but if you're like me and more comfortable with controllers than keyboards and mice, you're finally able to play this masterpiece in the way that you prefer. There's no other way to say this: by virtue of being two of the greatest games of all time, this combined edition pack is one of the best releases of the year.

Stunning re-releases of a pair of genre titans, the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack is an eminently thoughtful and evocative reminder of just how good these RPGs were and how now, PS4 players can finally turn back the clock and see what all the fuss was about. Trust me, you won't regret it.

The Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Pack offers incredible value for money, with hundreds of hours of role-playing game action spread across two main games and various expansions. While players unfamiliar with the series may find the presentation or the sometimes finicky navigation unappealing, the narrative remains compelling, the characters engaging, and the combat challenging. More than that, it's the first opportunity for console gamers to play two of the greatest RPGs of all time, and it shouldn't be skipped.

Going through Baldur's Gate for the first time is a reminder of what makes a classic RPG -- It’s hard to miss the ways it influenced the genre two decades years ago and how its impact can still be seen in games today, but as a modern experience, it does require a new player to meet in the middle a bit in terms of quality-of-life and the slightly-dated presentation. Despite that, this is the perfect game for a fan of the genre like me to finally play and having an updated version of the game available to a wide new audience is an opportunity for new fans to see exactly why it remains so highly regarded to this day.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Editions are fantastic games that put a lot of modern equivalents to shame. The graphics are massively dated and the controls are compromised compared to the PC but the content shines through and boy is there a lot of it.

While most definitely not for everyone, players who delight in THAC0 number crunching, dungeon dwelling, retro RPGs, or any form of fantasy writing will find a lot to enjoy in these former PC-only titles.

A solid conversion of two roleplaying classics. There are technical issues though.

Just BG and BG2, perfectly transferred to PS4, with somehow enhanced looks.
    - nice controls - new round menus are awesome

just 2 things in my opinion that should be fixed/added
    - better way of selecting character skills (to many clicks to disarm the trap
    - faster way to creste saves - quick save button?

I could never express with words what a pleasure it has been to play this game again on PS4. Somehow, against all odds, they've managed to improve the controls and gameplay with a controller and set a precedent for bringing back so many other buried classics. If you were a fan of this one when it came out on the PC, you're in for a real treat.

It's a shame they didn't include any sort of multiplayer, which is the only real reason that this game is not a 10, but even single player you're looking at countless hours of awesomeness that few games could ever match for twice as much money.

Playing this game has called up a lot of mixed emotions for me, since it is such a stark contrast to what games used to be and what they've become, but I suppose as long as they keep rereleasing old games with this much love and attention, the future will be bright.

A word of caution, though, if you're a modern gamer and you think souls or WoW are good, this game will completely baffle and horrify you. In that case, I would steer clear of this one.

This game contains the 2Having the opportunity to play the iconic, influential and unforgettable Baldur's Gate saga on console is terrific. This game contains the 2 Baldur's Gate entries and their 2 expansions (TotSC and ToB) so you can carry over your character from the beginning to the end of the story.
It also includes the newly created SoD that acts as a bridge between BGI and BGII but sadly it´s too linear, poorly written and woke. I think it is worth playing if you can handle a blatant brainwash attempt, endless trash mob combats and some horrible changes on classical companions due to the devs ideology.

The console port is ok, the control with the pad is correct, enough for the most demanding difficulties, text size is adaptable and it has a lot of UI/Gameplay configuration options. Loading and saving times are non-existent..
As a negative aspect the game crashes more and more as you progress on the saga, being the last expansion TOB really inestable, so please save a lot.

Trophy wise this collection is a beast, it has 171 trophies and 3 platinum in total.

This saga is not only good from a nostalgia or gamer archaeology point of view it also demonstrates how excellent the western RPG could be in contrast to modern ones.

My feelings are mixed. For me I'm ok with the dated elements but there are a lot of things in this game that take it for granted ive played this game 20 years ago and I didn't. For one the game does a decent job with tutorials but realistically given the size and complexity of the game it's not really possible to soak that up quickly. The game is missing an on disc manual which is sorely needed to completely enjoy this game. It is not noob friendly past the basic tutorials. For example, what is THACO? Older gamers may know exactly what it stands for but I don't. Ect ect an enhanced edition should have definitions and references available in the game to fully understand the game. Similarly I see a bear in early game with the possibility of dialog but with all the choices I understand from the tutorials I cannot understand if dialog is possible, really. Cows have this issue which makes no sense so maybe that's just the game. But the bear, why doesn't it immediately attack making me think maybe the bear is an illusion or a shapeshifter I have to figure out. Next up I'm stuck in my mini map with a cursor trying to hint something but no where can I figure out what it's trying to prompt me t do. I'm sure with enough searching on my own outside the game I will find these answers but given this is essentially a port I really feel the in game resources should be much expanded and not hope the target audience is only gamers from 20 years ago to whom this issue is a no brainer. Some other issues exist such as dialog voiceovers now do not match the printed dialog box making this game always seem hijacked. Given how this game has its reputation as best in class from the past and the gameplay isnt plagued with software bugs and is functional I feel a 7/10 is fair. I view 8/10 as must play but current generation games such as pillars of eternity and divinity are too strong of competition for me to give this remake that score. As a noob who is lazy I'd recommend those games instead but for die hard rpg fans I'd say this game still holds but is gonna require some pause and effort to appreciate. Older players replaying on consoles will likely have mixed opinions because of nostalgia and being set in their ways on keyboard preferences that they can't shake. I found the character navigation problem free. Expand

(I always loved the soundtrack, and it's still great.) While many games from the 80s and 90s stand the test of time remarkably well, I just can't say that is the case with this collection. The graphics are bad, but honestly, that's not something that bothers me very much as long as I'm having fun. The main problem here is that the UI is so primitive, and that playing requires so much menu diving and constant fiddling that I can't imagine that anyone but hardcore fans of the original PC games will tolerate it. If you like spending hours going from one menu screen to another, and doing very little actual combat and looting, this might be up your alley. If you have played any semi-modern action RPG, I would stay far away. None of the quality of life features that have become so prevalent that you don't even think about them any more are present in this game, and their absence smacks you in the face when you start playing. If you like this style of game, I would recommend Divinity: OS2 instead. It's much more accessible. Expand

They immediately ignore all the enemies right next to them and run back to where they were before you told them to attack. This is an abrasive hot pile of garbage that is only recommended by a stereotypical boomer mentality; like fully recommending a car as a 10/10 car, only to find out it breaks down all the time, and when you tell them that it breaks down all the time, they make fun of you for not pushing through having to fix it all the time and being 'entitled' to a product that actually **** works. Do not trust any who recommend these games! Expand

After the 6th time the NEW Gay orc had made an attempt to sodomize my character, when I was trying to work on Aaeries romance tree, I gave it in. The changes might not be hugh, but man are they in you fkn face..
This IS not the Baldurs Gate people fell in love with, play the OG game with mods..Youll be waste hours of your life thinking your experiencing a game beloved by millions when if fact it not at all that game.
