Aug 21, 2021I lost interest really fast. The game technically isn't bad, but the melee focused combat and the lack of weapons (in the first 2 hours at least) makes it inferior to it's predecessor.

Sep 8, 2021Loved the first one. This one is different but also great. The only thing that I missed was some sort of Trace cameo.

Sep 7, 2021Amazing game! Great level design and combat and story! I absolutely adore the pixel art look, one of my favorite metroidvanias of recent memory!
-
Aug 17, 2021Nowhere near as good as the first game. The combat is terrible, enemies can be avoided. For what do I need to play this game when there is no real challenge? Axiom Verge 2 is the biggest disappointment of 2021. Avoid it when you loved the 1st game as the sequel is not good.

Aug 27, 2021Axiom Verge 2 is the living proof of how important good combat and exciting boss encounters are in a video game. Sadly, it's a great example of how you should NOT do it.

Aug 23, 2021Very bland a repetitive gameplay and running around forever. Weapons is not great and the spider bot just ads more grinding to the game.
-
Aug 15, 2021Jogo mudou um pouco a mecânica e está com mais interações entre personagem principal é npcs, a personagem tem muitos mistérios com ela , e o jogo deixa uma névoa de dívidas como no anterior, até o momento está ótimo! Parabéns a Tomás Happ!

Aug 15, 2021I loved the 1st one, the second one didn't disappoint either. I will say I beat the game in 13 hours but you can beat it in 4 hours or so, based on watching streamers play it.. I do have one bug that was f*%# annoying the character model would get stuck and I couldn't attack.

Aug 13, 2021Worth successor to the original. One of the best metroidvanias I've ever played.

Aug 21, 2021I think this game is being very wronged. As a metroidvania fan, I found this game amazing. I loved the art, the innovative soundtrack with a real singer, loved the upgrades and even loved getting lost until I found the next goal. With the exception of the map navigation sound, everything about this game delighted me. 10.

Aug 24, 2021Amazing game. Better than the first one in many ways. Only thing really lacking is boss fights.

Jul 19, 2022Loved it. The world design is brilliant and the interplay between the main world and the breach is a real mindbleep. There's lots of fun in the end game trying to figure out how you can get to different places in these two worlds. And the aesthetics are great. There's things going on in the background of this game that I guarantee you haven't seen before. It's excellent. Give it a try.

CD-ActionNov 15, 2021Axiom Verge 2 offers an extraordinarily beautiful, coherent and original world, but sometimes exploration gets tedious and some mechanics and design choices get in the way of experiencing this intriguing setting. It is a unique game in a way, but I feel that it shouldn’t have sacrificed some elements on the altar of originality. [11/2021, p.46]

Oct 12, 2021Axiom Verge 2 is an unexpected and greatly enjoyable evolution of the first game, more focused on exploration than combat. It's the second step in Thomas Happ's ambitious sci-fi universe.

Nintendo Force MagazineOct 7, 2021Axiom Verge 2 is amazing. Many have tried to make games that can work as light entertainment and heavy, honest stories about their own lives at the same time. Few have succeeded as well as this one. [Issue #55 – October 2021, p. 19]
