    Ash of Gods: Redemption looks and sounds the part; it's a beautiful thing to behold, easily matches its most obvious inspiration in this regard and will obviously be very tempting to fans of the genre – and especially The Banner Saga – as a result. However, beneath this shiny surface, it's a mess. A combination of badly implemented and nonsensical mechanics, a poor story, terrible (and often juvenile) writing and a constant desire to stomp its players into the dirt make it a real pain to struggle through. It's a hugely punitive game, which would be fine if it played by the rules – but it doesn't. Combat here relies too much on luck and uncontrollable aspects which rob you of the opportunity to use actual skill and savvy to overcome the tough tests you'll be put through. If you want to make your game tough, fine, go for it, but you need to ensure the systems that underpin that toughness are up to serious scrutiny and, unfortunately, here they really aren't.

    Les développeurs d’Aurum Dust ont, dés le départ de leur Kickstarter, voulu proposer un jeu de rôle avec une histoire dense et un univers profond et bien écrit. Ils ont parfaitement réussis leur pari. Certains joueurs pourront être gênés par la présence très importante à l’écran des long textes et des nombreux dialogues proposés par le titre, mais cela fait parti de l’expérience. Le système de combat, bien que stratégique et plutôt bien fichus, est un petit peu mis de côté au profit de la narration, mais c’est sans doute un mal pour un bien. Ce choix a permis aux développeurs d’éviter de trop s’éparpiller pour pouvoir réaliser leur objectif initial. Au niveau visuel et sonore, Ash of Gods Redemption est une vraie pépite, qui bénéficie d’un travail d’orfèvre pour sa direction artistique, et de compositions musicales très marquantes. Du moment que vous adhérez à la proposition très narrative du jeu, Ash of Gods Redemption restera très longtemps dans votre mémoire de joueur. Un grand jeu! Contrairement à ce que laisse penser les visuels utilisés pour illustrer le test, le jeu bénéficie d’un patch fr pour les dialogues.

    Lots of bugs... I would recommend waiting for a patch.

    Then I encountered the same type of issue twice... under 45minutes of gameplay. Once While using a card the other at the begening of a combat....

I can tell the story will be great, but the controls for the fight were obviously never even quality tested when they ported this onto switch.

    The developers show no signs of giving technical support or updates to the switch version as well. Spend your money on devolopets who care. These ones clearly don’t.    … Expand
