    There are challenging arcade games; there are brutally difficult arcade games; and then there's Alpha Mission. This game feels as though itThere are challenging arcade games; there are brutally difficult arcade games; and then there's Alpha Mission. This game feels as though it was designed to make money through being virtually unbeatable. It's basically a clone of Xevious -- which wasn't very good to begin with -- but features anti-power-ups that send you back to the beginning; an entirely obtuse and unexplained item system; and bosses that fire multiple heat-seeking missiles at you which are nearly impossible to dodge. It's not fair, it's not fun. Play Ikaruga instead. Expand
