Apr 19, 20201, as in the number of islands you can have per console. Such a shame this is a thing.

Apr 19, 2020Can only have one island per Switch. Bad multiplayer design on a Switch with multiple users.
-
Apr 19, 2020NINTENDO! FIX THIS! This one island deal is an outrage. Can anyone tell me of another game that has ever done this? Sorry but I'm not buying a second switch so that my wife can play this game for like two months and then wait for the next bandwagon game to catch on.

Apr 20, 2020Bought this game to play with my wife as it is supposed to support local coop. Not only the local coop is a joke as the player who is not the leader basically can't to anything but if you're not the first player to run the game and be the representative you won't get to actually play the game.
Now I still don't have a game to play with my wife as she is the only one who can play it. -
Apr 20, 2020Can't actually play the game because I wasn't the first player to play it.
Will need to spend another £300 on a switch to be able to do any of the story.
Ridiculously greedy by Nintendo. -
Apr 20, 2020Bought this for my girlfriend who has really been enjoying it. However, recently we both thought it would be fun for me to make an island on my account too and were dismayed to find out that there is a one island limit per switch.
This is a very questionable design choice and seems borderline predatory as an attempt to pressure families into buying multiple switch consoles. -

Apr 22, 2020I spent 60 e on the game and also had to buy a memory card to be able to download it. Now it turned out that only one profile can own an island and others are just guests. So now I have one happy kid and one sad. I’m very disappointed at Nintendo. They better fix it. It’s 2020 – there surely aren’t any technical restrictions preventing each profile from having an own island.

Apr 23, 2020Pretty short sighted and money hungry to force households to have 1 island per console. Every other game on the Switch allows multiple saves except this one. Just shows Nintendo is no better than the rest of the shady AAA gaming industry.
-
Apr 23, 2020Locked to a single island per console in a disgusting money grabbing attempt from Nintendo. Also a stupid game in general- who likes doing chores to get out of debt from a raccoon? Plebians.

Apr 24, 2020The local co-op is an absolute joke. Also, if you're not the first player to create a character on the island, you're pretty much shafted. You will have NO way of progressing through the story or make changes to the island. There's not even a way to make multiple islands on the same switch. Basically, if you aren't player one, this game is completely unplayable
-
Apr 25, 2020The one island per switch, rather than one island per profile is a terrible, terrible design decision from Nintendo. I cannot see how it is anything more than a poorly disguised attempt to force people to buy a second switch console.
-
Apr 27, 2020Game is sort of fun if you don't plan on sharing. One island per console is ridiculous. Goals get old and seem mundane. Other than making your house bigger and earning money, there's no clear direction. Seems exactly like all other AC games that came before, no real improvements or anything game changing.
-
Apr 27, 2020The limitation to one island per Switch breaks completely the game if there is more than one player, the second player is too limited and will not enjoy the game in most cases.

-
Apr 28, 2020If you didn't create the island you are absolutely barred by the first resident's progress.

Apr 28, 2020I'm extremely disappointed that a family/shared system would limit the amount of islands to a console. Cheers. I've lost interest. It won't be in my household.
-
Apr 29, 2020I thought it was a great game and spent hours and hours building my island up to my Specification, halfway through I have found there is a limit to my features needed to complete it, such as inclines and bridges. I am very angry and after spending so much time and effort to get to this point I honestly just want to put down the game and never play it again.
-
Apr 29, 2020It was fun when I started but it gets SOOOO boring catching bugs and fishes and then you get barely any money.

May 5, 2020Stupid only one island per console. I am paying familiar switch online, because all family is using the console. Why only one island???
-
May 5, 2020One island per device? Deal breaker. How can this be a family game when only one of my kids can truly play it?
-
May 20, 2020
-
May 23, 2020Not allowing multiple islands per Switch is really a horrible move. Consider families with multiple children, they will not be able to play the game separately. And no, not everyone can afford a Switch per child. Horrible design choice, and completely unnecessary.

Jun 20, 2020I started playing this game with no expectations, as i never played any of its predecessors. 300 hours later and I can't stop. Hard to explain how a relaxing game can be so addictive and fun.
-
Jun 20, 2020Very enjoyable, relaxing and addictive although it really sucks when you’re not the Island Representative. Already played 250 hrs or more and I intend to keep on playing for a very long time.

Jun 21, 2020I have "finished the main story" if you can say that.
First time playing a Anaimal crossing game, and i was captivated the first couple of days. But it ended up feeling like another free to play games that you play on your phone and come back everyday to complete tasks. Except this game cost 449DKK when i bought the game … -

Jun 23, 2020It's a fun game. The only flaw is the 1 island only policy but overall, the game is best on what it has to offer.
-
Jul 8, 2020The game is beautiful, but the lack of objectives and the fact that you have to wait a whole day for certain thing makes it feel like a mobile game instead of a triple A experience.
Although I really enjoyed visiting other islands and the clothing customization. -

-
Jun 24, 2020The multiplayer part of the game needs to be better. I think everyone should be like the leader and everyone should have the same DIYs. I would also like it if every account had their own island.

Jul 6, 2020.

Jul 24, 2020This game is insanely addictive! I haven't played a game from this series since Gamecube, and yet I do not regret spending $60 on this not one bit! I passed on other games on eshop that were 10% off and 50% off for this game...OMG it's worth it!
-
Jul 23, 2020Amazing game! Well worth the money and so much fun to play! The play style incorporates elements of all the games new and old from the series and the graphics are amazing! So many hours of gameplay to be had and so many creative ideas to explore!
The slow updates are exciting because you know there’s more content coming and it leaves you waiting and excited to play even more! -

Aug 6, 2020its great initailly then you get bored of it and never touch it again. so worth the price tho! i put in around 100 hours in that game so quick!
-
Aug 26, 2020Pros: Cute villagers and designs; beautiful environment; relaxing gameplay; relaxing music. Cons: Villager dialogue is repetitive; lack of villager tasks; limited activities to do with friends.

Nov 28, 2020I know nintendo behaves like the apple of the gaming world. But one island per console is ridiculous. Buying multiple games for one console would plain gready, but trying to force you to buy a whole new console to have your own save is taking the “P”. Might be able to stomach it, if nintendo actually brought out proper family sharing
-
Nov 29, 2020I like it so much, it's a fun game, very reminiscent of the old Animal Crossing games. But, the inability for users of the same switch to have different islands isn’t cool, even above, only the first player on the switch can complete assignments from Tom Nook and other characters. If 2 or more people play on the same switch It become bored for the other players. Thats why i give a 2 to the game
-
Feb 7, 2021One of my favorite animal crossing games! This is one of the best Nintendo switch games from 2020
-
Dec 30, 2020I’m very frustrated at this multiplayer couch co op settings. What a major disappointment.
Why would Nintendo not add split screen or allow others to perform tasks ( pockets, phone, map etc).
Sure the multiplayer online might be fun IF you have a second switch AND a second game otherwise I’d skip this game altogether if looking to play at home with friends. -
Dec 31, 2020Great game killed by idiotic "1 console = 1 user" solution. I had to quit the game so my son could play...
-
Jan 4, 2021I bought this game for my 2 daughters cannot believe how bad the experience is for Player 2. Player 2 should be able to have their own island and be able to progress their own story. I regret buying this game

Feb 2, 2021RIPOFF! $60. for a one-person game. Can't even buy and use another. No idea my wife wouldn't get her own experience crafting and controlling development. My gosh, you can have multiple users in Breath of the Wild which is magnitudes more complex. This is easily solvable and simply unforgivable.
-
Feb 7, 20211 Island per switch is anti-consumer design and a manipulative greedy business practice that should firmly rejected.
-
Feb 18, 2021I love animal crossing New Horizons so many gameplay features that keeps you engaged for hours on end, the charms and the cuteness of the animals is so heart-warming. After completing the storyline there is sadly little to do but still well worth the experience. Alas 8/10 a great addition to the animal crossing series.
-
Feb 25, 2021This is a great game for all the people who think the one island thing is dumb. It's been this way for a while.
-
Feb 28, 2021Cute, fun, laid-back time-filler. Bad value proposition, however. Not a great deal of content for the price.
Passing events/occurrences is frustrating. Missing (not being able to experience at all due to time/schedule constraints) meteor showers and more is a bother.
RNG with Redd’s artwork is especially bad. -

Apr 6, 2021A bit boring at some points. You either love it or hate it. Good therapeutic game nonetheless.
-
Apr 12, 2021So I was play enjoying the game but I didn't mean to time travel and now I can't go back to my original file and I don't want to retry the game because I like my villagers and I was wondering if their should be a save file where when you can go back to a old save as in you make a save and a few months of you playing you can go back to that first save but you can't go to your future island?
-
Feb 13, 2022I love how chill and beautiful this game is. Totally recommended for the people who want to relax after playing shooters or something competitive online.
-
Apr 25, 2021This game is absolute garbage I can't believe Nintendo of all people somehow messed up animal crossing it takes too long and the controls are like playing Call Of Duty with the resident evil tank controls. Nintendo should look up to Bubsy 3D which has controls that are silky smooth and a story that makes more sense than the kingdom hearts games
-
Jun 24, 2021Disappointing compared to predecessors. Lack of content in advertised "free updates". Would not have bought if I knew the updates would be so lackluster.

Dec 19, 2020Animal Crossing New Horizons is basically perfect. Full of wholesome content that helped us cope with the COVID-19 pandemics, the game keeps the heart of its predecessors while innovating enough to make it unique. It may not have won Game of the Year but it'll be the game we all remember from 2020, for sure.
-
Jun 22, 2020Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a stunning new instalment in the Animal Crossing franchise, hindered only by its lack of immediate content, quality of life issues and missing returning characters and features While future updates will give the game long-term playability, for those already sipping vacation juice on their five-star islands, island life feels pretty mundane right now.
-
CD-ActionMay 12, 2020It’s full of detail, pretty small things, and surprisingly well working simulations and systems – everything polished in such a way that the player really does care about everything that’s going on. [06/2020, p.40]
