Jan 19, 2011In conclusion, EyePet PSP is a mini version of the PS3 version and for the most part, it actually works, however some of the augmented reality games are a little lacklustre and does require some additional space.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Jan 6, 2011Granted some activities are overly simplistic and repetitive and load times verge on annoying, but there always seems to be another unique EyePet interaction to explore and a seemingly endless parade of customization item to unlock. [Jan 2011, p.87]

Playstation Official Magazine UKDec 24, 2010Captures almost all the charm of its full-sized counterpart. [Christmas 2010]

Nov 8, 2010The game's appeal will quickly wear thin for older, more mature gamers, as the game's lack of a 'goal' besides keeping your pet happy. For those looking for the ultimate virtual pet experience for their children on the PSP, EyePet is their answer.
-
Dec 20, 2010In summary, while I love the PSP Camera, EyePet is simply not the best implementation of the technology. Gamers who want to see the technology implemented in a manner that is actually enjoyable would be better off checking out inviZimals.
-
Nov 24, 2010EyePet, the PS3 alternative to virtual pet games such Nintendogs, makes the leap to PSP with the help of the Go! Cam. Now the youngest of the house can play wherever they are, in a game that lacks some options present in the original version.
-
Nov 29, 2010It's unfortunate as EyePet could be a great portable title, especially for the younger crowd. But the limitations of the technology itself plus the dated hardware leave it more of an irritating experience than a lovable one.
-
Dec 10, 2010EyePet on the PSP is actually a pretty nice game. A lot of the bad working elements of the PS3 version around the camera are solved and it's perfect for the younger gamer. The gameplay is more button orientated and less camera and that's a shame, because the game is made for the camera.
-
Dec 30, 2010EyePet was a good idea in home consoles, but its adaptation to PSP lacks a lot of polish, although they have tried to port it faithfully.
-
Jan 5, 2011It's cute, its mini games are okay at best, but if you're planning to play it longer, it just can't deliver. Only recommendable for young kids.
-
Nov 25, 2010While cute and colourful, the PSP version of Sony's EyePet lacks content and really isn't portable.
-
Nov 11, 2010Due to the limiting nature of the EyePet, it's hard to recommend to anyone without the capacity to sit in one place and play their PSP at countertop.
-
Nov 9, 2010The PSP version of EyePet lacks the main appeal of the PS3 version, which was being able to interact with your pet using your own hands and see him respond. By taking that away, the game is now no different than any other pet sim out there.
-
Nov 23, 2010The novelty will wear off quickly. This is more of a platformer than a virtual pet game.
-
Dec 20, 2010Even though the EyePet offers a lovable virtual pet, it just doesn't cut it in the real world.
-
Nov 29, 2010EyePet on PSP is cute, sure, but there isn't much you can do with it aside from simple, boring mini-games and unimaginative augmented reality gimmicks.
-
Nov 29, 2010Sure, the augmented reality brings something unusual to the game. Feeding your pet, play with it, check its health, etc. does have something magical to it, especially with the familiar backgrounds of your own home. But beyond this initial amazement, the not-so deep activities, the technical limitations of the PSP's camera, and the annoying loading times will tarnish the fun you can get in the long run. That's why the PS3 version remains so much better.
-
Nov 20, 2010The PSP-version of EyePet could have been a good game. Instead, it is a crippled one, with a small collection of uninteresting mini-games.
