It's great to see a game this well-made come almost completely out of nowhere.
-
A fine squad-level strategy RPG and one of the last excuses you'll have to spend 30 or 40 hours with your PSone.
-
A competent title with enough depth, playability, challenge, and originality to hold the interest of the discerning strategy fan.
-
The graphic details of the game are extremely well done, considering the dated system.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyThe translation is extremely well done; a thoughtful and compassionate retelling of a fascinating legend. Excellent stuff. [Sept 2001, p.148]
-
Not as deep, heavy or pretty as the competition, but strangely appealing once the journey starts rolling.
-
It could have been vastly improved with a bit more graphical polish, and the addition of more exploration and side-quests to break up the monotony of its near-constant combat.
-
In this case, though, it’s better to travel with a legend in a book than play as one on the PlayStation.
-
This game is just tedious and boring. I think it's all caused by the simplicity.
