It's great to see a game this well-made come almost completely out of nowhere.
  2. A fine squad-level strategy RPG and one of the last excuses you'll have to spend 30 or 40 hours with your PSone.
  3. A competent title with enough depth, playability, challenge, and originality to hold the interest of the discerning strategy fan.
  4. Not as deep, heavy or pretty as the competition, but strangely appealing once the journey starts rolling.

The translation is extremely well done; a thoughtful and compassionate retelling of a fascinating legend. Excellent stuff. [Sept 2001, p.148]
  6. It could have been vastly improved with a bit more graphical polish, and the addition of more exploration and side-quests to break up the monotony of its near-constant combat.
  7. This game is just tedious and boring. I think it's all caused by the simplicity.

It's not as good as Final Fantasy Tactics, but it's a nice reimagining of a classic Chinese folk tale that should keep any fans of FFTactics satisfied. It's colorful, quirky, and has a decent story/characters. Expand
