    You know, I expected a game with the word "Metal" in the title to have some metal music but I was sadly disappointed. But the game is still fantastic so I'm willing to let it somewhat of the hook.

    I still remember the first time I played this game when I was like 10 and the joy I had when I found it again at my teens. One of the best games of all time.

    Metal Gear Solid is without a doubt one of the best PlayStation One games of all time. It’s extremely rare for a game that’s nearly 20 years old to age so well, but Metal Gear Solid’s tense gameplay combined with a fantastic story make it an absolute joy to play, even for people who never got to experience this game when it was a new release.

    I do not know what to say about this game. great details, great script, legendary characters, hard boss fights .. a great and detailed game. all hail lord kojima.

    One of the best games of all time. The atmosphere is incredible, it has a rare quality, gritty, tense and immersive. There still isn't anything else like it, and in 1998 it was totally revolutionary.

    This is objectively and provably one of the greatest and most important games ever created... and I mean high on that list .. is probably say the 3 most important games ever made ( excluding pong ) are super Mario bros 1, street fighter 2 and Metal gear solid... you’d be hard pressed to find more influential games

    This is a game ... Just classic. I put the game 1010 for thoughtful characters, for an excellent soundtrack, for the best story. I just passed the first part of the game.

    Haberlo jugado en la actualidad no envejecio tan mal el juego, tiene una gran historia, gráficos potentes para la época y la banda sonora era épica, aunque la reutilizaran muchas veces a lo largo del juego.

    Metal Gear Solid is simply One of the best games of all time, because was a innovative game, Also it is one of the best games of the first PlayStation.
    Metal Gear Solid has a great plot and with completely unexpected twists that contribute positively to the experience of whoever is playing it.

    My all time favourite what else to say ....simple controls and yet all so well blended together ...story so realistic so much so i believed Big Boss exists in real life .. lol

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Metal Gear Solid is a well-designed game. From the first area to the last, every area pushes you to develop strategies, and act with caution. Sometimes the story works out well, but sometimes it doesn't, and feels as if it is trying to force emotions from the player for characters not developed enough for me to care. The game sets up atmosphere and mood very well, but there are impediments that deter from my enjoyment of the game, like the PSG-1 fetch quest, which is, pretty much, compulsory, and feels like a waste of time. Also, if you skip cutscenes, the game feels very short. MGS is a good game, but I feel that it could have been better.… Expand

    Metal Gear solid is one of those rare cases where gameplay, soundtrack and storytelling are crefted with such atention to detail that it's impossible to not see why it's such an amazing game, and i risk to say, it could pretty much be the best PS1 game

    Well I guess that is the best game of my life. I played it in my early age and I could not understand the plot and that is why liked everything about especially ost. The game was revolutionary when it was released on ps one. Everyone who had ps one will say that this MGS is on their list. It is a masterpiece!

The main character, Solid Snake, is one of the coolest video game heroes ever. The story is amazing and the characters are likable and memorable.     A true classic, and it holds up well today as it's really the simplest in terms of gameplay. More of an upjumped NES game, the real upgrade comes in the intelligent story told with flair and panache. Still my favorite in the series.

    After ignoring the franchise for my entire life. I decided to dive in, starting with the ps1 classic. While some of the movment and hit detection has aged... not so well. The story, mechanics and surprises keep this game fresh even in 2021. Hopefully we'll see a proper remake in the near future for ps5. Until then I look forward to playing the rest of the franchise

    This game was innovative in so many ways and the story was told so well that even in 2018 this game holds up as a great game.

    Amazing game. Played it through. Even holds up by today's standards and the story is extremely in depth. I shall go onto play MGS 2. I love it

    I'm not going to go on and on, but do think this is a good average game and that's it. I think it was totally overrated for just way too long.

    The controls are lousy
    The visuals are blurry and use texture warping which I'm not a fan of.
    The foxhound members are a bit cartoony and over the top for my tastes.

    Its still a good stealth game, even with its flaws.

    I was shocked to play this game for the first time and say wow this holds up. Now I wont go in to detail with this game but the plot is interesting and is what really drives the game because the actual game play while has some real in depth things about it is the most dated part of the game and can be honestly frustrating basically the playing threw the story is fun but playing threw theI was shocked to play this game for the first time and say wow this holds up.     I played this game in 2016 and haven't found any other like this, the atmosphere places you in Shadow Moses and it made forget about the graphics (which honestly I love them), to put it simply it is the best game i've ever played.

    One of the best video games of all time!! There's no doubt that this game is an absolute masterpiece! This game is literally perfect in every way. Amazing story by the master director Hideo Kojima and the birth of one of gaming's most beloved and best franchises! I cant recommend this beauty enough just give it a shot and you'll be blown away as well.

    It is literally full of those 'classic' moments that are all too rare these days. Whether it's the first time your footprints are discovered, the first time you perform a stealth kill, finding out the identity of the 'Ninja', solving the method of defeating Psycho Mantis, obtaining the camera and seeking out your first 'ghost'... there are so many classic memories.
