BenD.Jul 26, 2005While the story, characters, and cutscenes are outstanding, the dated graphics and most notably the clunky controls really hurt this game. Oh, and the Psycho Mantis battle is super cool.

Mar 1, 2019The gamplay was really ahead of its time, specailly in the first zone of the game(the one which snows a lot). Although the story is good, they really overexplain everything and i really didin't get any more out of the game besides "war bad", bu this doesn't stop this game from being one of the best games in the ps1.

Dec 20, 2022You know, I expected a game with the word "Metal" in the title to have some metal music but I was sadly disappointed. But the game is still fantastic so I'm willing to let it somewhat of the hook.

Aug 23, 2021I'm not going to go on and on, but do think this is a good average game and that's it. I think it was totally overrated for just way too long.
The controls are lousy
The visuals are blurry and use texture warping which I'm not a fan of.
The foxhound members are a bit cartoony and over the top for my tastes.
Its still a good stealth game, even with its flaws. -

Sep 10, 2021A classic game with many innovative ideas. One of the first stealth games, so give it a playthrough if you like this genre. The camera view is quite annoying sometimes, but overall it is a good game.

GMR MagazineA cinematic classic. [Feb 2003, p.97]

It is literally full of those 'classic' moments that are all too rare these days. Whether it's the first time your footprints are discovered, the first time you perform a stealth kill, finding out the identity of the 'Ninja', solving the method of defeating Psycho Mantis, obtaining the camera and seeking out your first 'ghost'... there are so many classic memories.

This game is full of surprises and you never know what is going to happen, and that is a very good thing.
