  1. Although riddled with enough flaws to keep the casual gamer at bay, "Gundam Battle Assault" isn't so terrible that it alienates even the hardcore supporters willing to overlook its problems.

This isn't a game for serious fighter fans, but it's definitely one for Gundam fans, Wing or otherwise.
  3. Gundam Battle Assault isn't a good enough game to live on its own -- the fighting is competent, but hardly compelling for any length of time, and the story mode is completely uninteresting.

Melodramatic dialogues precede and follow each fight, and they're handled with the same mildly illiterate aplomb as most anime translations -- meaning that they're longwinded, heavyhanded and occasionally unintelligible to all but the most diehard of fans, which is just how we like 'em.
