JustinW.Jun 20, 2002I saw two major flaws in this game-Heero Yuy as the main character in the American version (Heero in the Universal Century?) and the somewhat odd character balancing (Zakus being so strong while the original Gundam is horrible)

Jul 21, 2023A great attempt of a 2d fighter with a Gundam aesthetic. But competition is stiff and the controls are also clunky and stiff, especially if you bring Gundam Dynasty Warriors into the mix.
Those graphics still hold up though.

Although riddled with enough flaws to keep the casual gamer at bay, "Gundam Battle Assault" isn't so terrible that it alienates even the hardcore supporters willing to overlook its problems.
-
This isn't a game for serious fighter fans, but it's definitely one for Gundam fans, Wing or otherwise.
-
Gundam Battle Assault isn't a good enough game to live on its own -- the fighting is competent, but hardly compelling for any length of time, and the story mode is completely uninteresting.
