May 10, 2015Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is certainly one of the most unique titles the Vita has seen or will see by far, and while it can take an astronomical amount of getting used to, it's absolutely worth investing time in.
-
Apr 6, 2015If more time was spent to slowly explain its gameplay, or better yet simplify it so that it doesn’t conflict with players who want to experience the story, it would have proved a much stronger recommendation.
-
Mar 26, 2015A Japanese take on the Ghostbusters, sacrificing graphics for functionality. A fun game that can be done in doses, and with a story that will keep you wanting to come back for the next dose. Great for visual novel fans, or those looking for a different kind of RPG.
-
Mar 9, 2015However, this is a game that will have great appeal to those who appreciate a decent, unimposing visual-novel style story and enjoy seeing new takes on tactical gameplay. Those looking for a series of entertaining tales and a different type of strategy to that commonly seen in RPGs will do well to check the game out.

May 4, 2015Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is a nice addition to the Vita’s library, and is different from most games that are being released for the system lately - just don’t expect to be too impressed; ghosts exist, and middling games as well.
-
May 12, 2015Tokyo Twilight tells a good story and I did like the characters and scenarios, but when it deviates from the standard visual novel format with these awkward diversions, it stumbles pretty hard. Rather than being exciting additions, they feel like unfriendly barriers to what should be the focus: continuing the story.
-
Mar 30, 2015The randomness of the battles and the lack of replayability let the Japanese Ghostbusters down from an otherwise well written story.
-
Mar 24, 2015Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters tells a great story well and sets a new graphical standard for visual novels. Sadly its attempts to provide more player choice and agency fall flat, both in terms of vague (often creepy!) character interactions and tedious turn-based combat.
-
Apr 9, 2015Overall, it’s a game of two halves that just doesn’t quite come together. Some, like myself, will no doubt find themselves engrossed in the story, only to be disappointed by the trial-and-error labours of combat.
-
Apr 3, 2015It's cool that Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is trying to make something out of the visual novel that's more than historical dramas or tales involving barely pubescent schoolgirls, but ultimately, it doesn't seem like the end result matched the goal.
-
Mar 16, 2015Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters may impress when it comes to its mature storytelling and themes, it does not fully deliver those things. This is a weak mix between a visual novel and a strategic RPG full of useless minigames.
-
Mar 4, 2015It’s just not particularly fun.
