    Plague Road looks great, and that, in itself, is an accomplishment. But it's also the sort of thing that can be appreciated in screenshots — since once you get to playing, you may find that it ruins the overall experience.

    I was expecting a little more with this game. It is beautiful with a good sound track, and the fighting system is fun. However, there are aI was expecting a little more with this game. It is beautiful with a good sound track, and the fighting system is fun. However, there are a few things I find lacking. There seems to be very little reward for battling, there doesn't seem to be any goals or reasons to go out besides to build up the farm, and the story is touched on but it is not a story driven game.

    The battles are way too frequent with too little reward. I tried running past enemies, which works sometimes, but other then that you have no option but to fight. My characters aren't hitting any stronger and my healers aren't getting better. On top of that, you could go through a part of the map battling your way to the end and never saving a survivor or seeing a chest. That would be fine if it was a new area of the map, but when I have been in that location several times before and have to start the map all over again (and it changes) it is a waste of time for me, especially when there is no indication where i need to go after i have been through there before.

    I do like how they set up the character improvement by retiring survivors to get different abilities or upgrades, but that makes getting survivors about the only actual motivation to go outside of the farm. There are a few characters you run into that will need certain survivors in your team. That is fun, but easy to accomplish. I am almost to the city (I think) and I am really hoping there is more to do there.

    I am several hours into this game, about a weeks worth of evening play and weekend play. I think the game has amazing detail to graphics, good sound track, and the battle system is fun. But, give me a reason to want to go outside of my farm, and let me explore the land without having to battle every 10 seconds. A little character improvement would also be nice with all this battling, and would make me get attached to my team more. As is, they are all expendable to me and that doesn't make it fun. This is a great start to a game, and for maybe playing it on the bus or a plane ride for an hour or so it would be fun. It isn't a game a can easily play for hours on end when i want to waste a weekend.    … Full Review »
