An insane finale doesn’t make up for the painful amount of filler. The trials are always great, but getting to them is frustrating. If someone sees a gun on the ground, you have to click through 30 lines of "Huh? Is that? Wha? What’s he looking at? I don’t know...huh?" before someone says "It’s a gun on the ground."

The characters are just as memorable as the ones from the first game,

The characters are just as memorable as the ones from the first game, but the pacing is absolutely brutal. Still glad I played it, though.

Danganronpa 2 looks like a niche game, but it tells the kind of crazy story that more people need to experience. I mean, who can resist a talking bear and rabbit?

Fans of Sony’s mobile platforms have been envious of Nintendo’s Ace Attorney series for years and longed for an equally good whodunit. Now 3DS users will be envious of Danganronpa 2. [13/2014, p.69]

Utterly unique and reasonably enhanced since the last outing. This is still to die for. [December 2014, p77]
