For al Nioh fans a hell yeah! Three kingdoms fan? Even more! Combat and customization take the main stage here that's for sure and while the story is pushed a little more to the back this game is a game of the year contender for me!

Honestly this is the best game I have played in many years! I feel like I'm learning new gaming skills every chapter and some of the boss battles are just groundbreaking INCREDIBLE! Haven't experienced this kind of feeling since Nioh 1 and 2! The one before that was the Ninja Gaiden games. You have to play this to see what I'm talking about! So stylish, so cool, so satisfying!!!!!

Amazing. It is my dream coming through. It is a sekiro game with the leveling as dark souls. The pace of tge game is frenetic. The looting garbage did not bother at all. The cons are the graph. Ps4 graphucd, not new generation.

Tempted to rate this a 7/10, but how this site works is 7/10 is considered a "Mixed" score. But I do view this game as a highly positive one. Cheesing your way throughTempted to rate this a 7/10, but how this site works is 7/10 is considered a "Mixed" score. But I do view this game as a highly positive one. In terms of difficulty, it can be likened to a fast-paced version of Elden Ring, making it kind of a challenge. The battle system is unique, with DEFLECT requiring you to counter your enemy's attacks within a split second. Cheesing your way through boss fights is not an option most of the time. This game has a steep learning curve, so GIT GUD.

Character creation is a standout feature, offering extensive customization options (Unlike Elden Ring, you look ugly no matter what you do.)

The story is best appreciated by those with knowledge of the Three Kingdoms universe. The identity of the blindfolded boy remains a mystery until the end, leaving room for educated guesses (I guess we are looking for a sequel?). The dialogues are filled with fine details that closely resemble the history of Ancient China. It's understandable why some reviewers didn't rate the story higher, given the challenge of fitting a 400-hour story into a 40-hour game.

For trophy hunters, there are no missable trophies, but three roadblocks to getting the platinum.
    1) The first boss (Who the hell designs a first boss with two phases?)
    2) The boss riding a horse (appears halfway through the game, and you can't miss it. Unfortunately, grinding before this boss fight is out of the question, as I did not find an efficient grinding spot before the fight.)
    3) The final boss (If you care, you can grind to max level and make the final boss a cakewalk.)

    Some complaints:
There is room for improvement in the equipment system. While there are many options to choose from, only a few of them matter. Additionally, 1-star to 3-star equipment becomes useless after the first few chapters of the game.
I wish there were more tutorials available. Many of the game's mechanics are left unexplained, leaving players to figure them out on their own.

I have mixed feelings on Wo Long.
It's basically Nioh 3 with a chinese setting, but with some pros and cons.
Good CS overall, with Sekiro influences. Parrying is difficult sometimes, and some enemies/bosses spam attacks like crazy, but once you get the hang of it, negating every boss move is quite awesome. Nioh-like character growt and equipment system, forging and upgrading are quite

Nioh-like character growt and equipment system, forging and upgrading are quite simple, but sometimes also not so intuitive.
Nice Level design, quite Nioh-ish but more vertical (another Sekiro influence).
Not-so-good graphics, levels and characters looks quite updated for a PS5 game (models from a DW game maybe?), but some bosses are very good in the other hand.
Boring story, jumps from the Yellow Turban rebellion into another 2 or 3 major battles with the elixir gimmick.
Main antagonist is another Kashin Koji wannabe, quite generic/lame.
But game was fun overall, looking forward to play the DLCs.

Very well done in my opinion the change of response times due to type of weapons and overall weight of the equipment and the fatigue system

    Speaking of flaws:
    - definitely the camera handling is annoying at some times,
    - perhaps it was possible to create a greater balance in the difficulty curve, better managing the alternation of challenging and easy bosses
    - some doubts also on the growth of character characteristics, which at the beginning seems to be a bit confusing

As others have said, its the sekiro of the nioh series. Sadly the story and more specifically the storytelling is a big mess. Nioh was already confusing but with a bit of research you could get a grip on it. This is just insane. Allies becoming enemies in 1 mission. Next mission they are back to being allies. Crazy mcguffins left and right and so on.
The game is fairly challenging but not

The game is fairly challenging but not as hard as the souls games and way wayyyy easier than sekiro. The rpg elements are satisfying and the forgiving crafting and respec system lets you change builds on a whim.

This game is simply superb. The combat is outstanding and the expiration is fantastic. Each level has so many interconnected path ways and secrets to find I can’t believe how well team Ninja pulled this off. My only con for the game is the story. I have trouble keeping track of the all the characters. Otherwise this is an easy recommend for anyone who likes souls style games and/or Sekiro.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a game which takes some time to warm up to, but when you do it unravels an experiance full of intense gameplay and challenging combat. It takes a different approach to telling a Three Kingdoms story and feels very much like it ties nicely into the world of Dynasty Warriors, which lands really well.

To compare this game to anything else, I would suggest

To compare this game to anything else, I would suggest considering this as a nice blend of Sekiro, for it's setting and split second parry style combat and Ninja Garden for it's loose, dodge-heavy gameplay. If you aren't a fun of crushing and hard games, this isn't the game for you, as you will die over and over. The first boss you come across is one of the hardest and cruelest starter enemies I've ever had to face and it forces you to 'get gud' right away to be able to beat him. I can see why some people really don't like this game, as it seems to have a "love it or hate it" reception. But if you like all things "Soulsbourne" and "Sekiro", you will feel right at home with Wo Long. Though, I suggest trying the Demo before purchasing as this gives a really nice idea of what to expect for this title.

There’s build diversity and the deflect system adds a lot of the addictive nature of the fun. I played the beta demo back in last Sept, it was a more challenging game but still fun. The released version is a bit easier than the beta demo for 2 reasons:

    1. They increased the parry timing’s window to make deflects easier to pull off. They were very hard in the beta demo.
    2. The “stamina” gauge still lets you perform actions when it’s in the negative. There’s a big risk in doing so but it doesn’t stop you like I’m the beta demo.

The performance on PS5 is good. No problems or noticeable dropped frames during times of intense combat. I have 10 hours into the game and encountered mild stuttering a few times at random spots like running around a corner with heavy terrain but no enemies. There isn’t a pop-in problem like on Xbox. At this time, PS5 is the best optimized port of Wo Long.

Gamer creds: I’m a Soulsborne fan that’s played everything from Demons Souls to Elden Ring but haven’t played Sekiro (yet). I tried Nioh 2 but bounced off it. Nioh 2 felt too aggravatingly unfair. Wo Long feels different, is more approachable and provides a generally fair (but not perfect) challenge.

Watch out for that stage 1 boss though. He’s a gatekeeper to make sure you nail down how to deflect a critical attack then counter attack.

I like the bosses, level designs, music, some enemies, and combat. The variety of weapons at the start is meager, but you can still manage fine. The variety of enemies could be improved. I like the deflection mechanic more than in Sekiro, but they are both excellent. Timing windows for parries and counterattacks are fine. I would say sometimes they are too

This game is easier than Sekiro.
The armor variety in the first few chapters is also not very promising, with only a few different armor pieces that look pretty similar. In general, a very fun game with moderate replayability potential. The good thing is that you always have one or two side missions to level-up up before charging to the main battlefield.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a lovechild between Sekiro and Nioh games with some Chinese mythos and history sprinkled on the top. It is a truly great combat experience that is drawn back by somewhat convoluted storytelling, lackluster decisions to simplify magic and attributes and severe optimization problems. With that said, it is a really fun experience that any fan of the genre will surely love.
