Pro Skater 3+4 has been lovingly restored by Iron Galaxy, a different developer than the Pro Skater 1+2 remake (which was handled by Vicarious Visions) – and not the same people who made the 2000s games either. But somehow they’ve captured the feeling and nuance of those heady originals where it was as much fun laughing your head off at an audacious failure as it was pulling off a breathless sequence and landing on your feet.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 offers that much-needed shot of nostalgia, from a time where all any of us wanted to do was feel cool. Tony Hawk represented counter culture and Pro Skater was emblematic of that iconic time. While some reshuffling may dampen the experience for purists, the wealth of content found in 3 + 4 proves that Tony Hawk is a timeless champion and this remake is a thrilling reminder of how a legacy is made.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 makes some great improvements to what came before and provides the same great gameplay experience. Where it bails is the nostalgia factor for fans of these in their original format. That nostalgia isn't here personally but it's still hard to ignore. A remaster should maintain all the things that made the original great and for not doing that, should probably have another point taken off. If looked at objectively, however, this is another excellent addition to pick up and play. Maybe just leave the rest before we have to buy another USB board.

I imagine that some gamers who played this pair of Tony Hawk games back in the day may find some nits to pick with it, but for me it’s been so long since I played the originals, I can’t say that I’ve got any of those sorts of complaints. The levels do jog some memories for me, and the modern facelift keeps THPS3+4 from ruining any nostalgic memories for me. If you missed the gamed the first time around, you’ll probably be quite happy with THPS3+4 – there’s a lot to enjoy here and all of the various aspects of the game are well-implemented and come together quite nicely.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is another triumphant return to a franchise dear to my heart. Superb campaigns remade in glorious visuals and a streamlined user experience help make this collection the definitive pro skater package. Whilst the changes made to THPS4 may upset some purists, this is still, for the most part, the games I grew up with fantastic modernised controls and gorgeous visual and animation design. Of course, the glaring omissions in the soundtrack soured my experience to some extent, but thankfully, not terminally. In an era of remakes or remasters, you can place this one squarely in the remake category. A fully remade game from the ground up. Tony Hawk Pro Skater games give you a little slice of nostalgia and they’re just downright fun!

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 faithfully follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, and even with some omissions and additions compared to the original material, it remains accurate, addictive, and extremely fun not only for longtime fans, but also for the next generation of virtual skaters.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is the best Tony Hawk has ever been. The 1 + 2 remake set the standard, now 3 + 4 has elevated it by offering more goals and content, extra customization, and introducing new levels. It's not an easy game to master due to a high skill ceiling, but once you get to grips with it, chaining together long combos is so satisfying. Roll on the Underground remakes.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a must-have for fans of the series, offering yet more outrageous skateboarding antics along with stunning visuals. Purists might not like that the format of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 has been changed, and that most of the music here is new, but embrace these updates and you'll have a very good time indeed. Also, the new skateparks that have been introduced are fantastic.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 sticks the landing with a clean kickflip and a modern twist. Iron Galaxy may have sanded off some of THPS4’s open-ended charm, but what’s left is a fine-tuned tribute to skateboarding. With excellent controls, deeper creation tools, and a diverse music and character roster (shoutout to our Aussie legends), the game is accessible and ridiculously fun. Even with a few bails, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 proves the Birdman’s legacy can still shred.

Some disappointing soundtrack modifications didn't hamper my time with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, as its truly timeless and nostalgic gameplay experience ultimately reigns supreme.

These new additions are seamless and, I hope, can be used as proof of concept for a potential Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. I’m aware there is already a fifth game, of course, but Iron Galaxy — and you — would do better to forget about that one...Throw in a slew of secret characters, gameplay mods, multiplayer modes, and customisation options that weren’t in the original games, and you have yourself a little slice of skateboarding heaven in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remastered. The birdman has done it again.

It’s really easy to nitpick THPS 3+4, but that’s because the games it’s pulling from are so memorable. However, those issues are rather small when looking at the whole picture. Against all odds, Iron Galaxy created a solid follow-up to THPS 1+2, and one that I know I’ll be playing for hours on end. It may not be a faithful recreation of two of the best video games ever made, but whether you’re a long-time fan or newcomer, THPS 3+4 is absolutely worth playing.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 isn't a perfect remake, nor a revolutionary reimagining. But it's, above all, a fun game, respectful of its heritage, and incredibly addictive. Arcade skateboarding is doing just fine, thank you.

The old Tony Hawks have still have their own kind of magic, and with the new game engine and added content it's still hard to beat many of these games. I still enjoy the buzz and sunshine just as much as I did almost 25 years ago.

This remake goes beyond nostalgia by reimagining Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 with modern visuals, added content, and reworked mechanics that balance freshness and authenticity; despite minor technical issues and some divisive design choices, it delivers a deep, generous, and lovingly crafted experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.

What's here is great, but I'd love to see more of it. Whether that's in the form of DLC, that long-rumored THUG remaster, or even a brand-new game, only time will tell. For almost thirty years now, THPS games have given me some of the best memories I've had in gaming, and that certainly continues with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. Like my skater at the competition in Rio, it deserves a gold medal.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 is another example of how to breathe new life into a classic without losing touch with what makes the originals great. There is plenty of replay value thanks to online mode and important improvements to the Create-A-Park mode.

Even though the changes to the career mode in the fourth installment are certainly a tough blow for Tony Hawk fans, we're overall satisfied with the latest remake. The presentation, handling, gameplay, and, above all, fun are all spot on.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a great game that is packed with content that will keep players coming back to it for a long time long after finishing both campaigns. While on its own it is just as good as 1+2 in the gameplay department, the soundtrack consisting of mostly new tracks along with the removal of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4's original career mode will make this game probably not hit as hard in the nostalgia department as the first game did. On its own Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is very good, but as remakes of the original 3 and 4? Not as good.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is an excellent game that continues the legacy of the previous remake: revitalizing the franchise. The vast roster of skaters, the freedom to create their own creations, and the sheer number of challenges promise many hours of gameplay for a wide range of audiences. However, omitting most of the original soundtrack and preserving THPS4's mission structure, in addition to removing classic stages, really ends up being a heavy negative point.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a successful remaster for anyone wanting to shut out the world and grind away your problems for a while, and remember simpler times. The classic Tony Hawk gameplay only seems to have gotten better with age, and the custom parks are sure to keep you skating for hours after you've washed the career mode. Even though it's not a faithful remaster of THPS 4, and your mileage may vary on the soundtrack, any fan of the series would do themselves a disservice to skip out on grabbing this remaster bundle.

While Pro Skater 4’s shift away from its open-world structure may disappoint fans of the original, and the soundtrack misses some iconic tracks, there’s no denying Iron Galaxy put in the work to make both games feel cohesive. In the end, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 offers two more chances for players to relive their skating heyday while offering a new generation a piece of history through a modern lens.

TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 3 + 4 maintains the high quality standard of the first installment. It offers more of everything, albeit with some modifications and tweaks so that both games convey that arcade feel we love. While sacrifices were made that alter the original experience, the high speed, challenge, nostalgia and fun factor remain intact.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is an excellent sequel. It has the smooth skateboard gameplay we all know and love, with tons of features and modes. It also nails the vibes of early 2000s skate culture. All the new levels are fun as well. The only knocks against it are its lame create-a-skater, which is a huge missed opportunity, and the fact that its content just isn’t as iconic as the original two games in the THPS series. It also doesn’t look nearly as good as it plays. Anyone who played THPS 1 + 2 who wants more content should rest assured though that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is an easy recommendation.
  26. 85
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a second round of collections that focuses entirely on fun and nostalgia. The gameplay formula is still highly satisfying, perfect in this summer period to recall a few games, two minutes of essential gameplay and dozens of tricks to perform. The new graphic coat is excellent, with the updated roster of skaters and some new maps. The usual problems persist around the use of the camera, to be left on automatic since in manual it is truly a terrible experience. Excellent longevity for those who have played them in the past, but a clever and usable package even for those who are approaching it for the first time.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 lands somewhere between remake and reimagining. It doesn’t land either perfectly, but it's still a ton of fun. There’s a lot to see and do, but I’ll always come back to just skating around, pulling off tricks just for the fun of it.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a must-see for those who grew up on skateboarding (whether enjoyed or played first-hand). It relies on gameplay that hasn't lost its shine, with the exception of a few small uncertainties related to Spine Transfer, and it knows how to create addiction with dozens of selectable skaters and the iconic parks that the guys from Iron Galaxy have given us back in a modernized form. The team has reworked the career of the fourth chapter in a way that isn't entirely convincing, but on the other hand it has offered fans new levels, a fun brand new online mode and secret skaters who are up to the task, all on a more than pleasant audiovisual basis. In short, if you're a fan of Birdman, you love the THPS genre, or you simply want to get closer to the world of skateboarding while paying more attention to the spectacle than the simulation, these great restored games are for you.

Everything a remake needs to be, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is: enjoyable nostalgia and fun. Visual improvements, but maintaining the essence. The third and fourth installments were two of the best games of the PS2 generation, and while their remakes aren't as impressive in the current generation, they're still a must-have for anyone who was a kid in the 2000s (or a skateboarding fan, of course).

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 delivers exactly what it was supposed to. After years of uncertainty and fumbles around the franchise, the series found its footing with THPS 1+2. With this new chapter, it shows that there’s still a lot to learn from the past, and a lot to be excited for in the present.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is brimming with nostalgia, making it an easy pick for hardcore fans. The core gameplay remains remarkably solid even after two decades, but the developers’ overly conservative approach holds it back from pushing into new territory. If you’re after the classic experience with sharper visuals, this package is a no-brainer. However, if you’re hoping for modern mechanics or a bold reimagining, the full price might feel like a tough sell.

THPS 3 + 4 is the best way to play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and a great way to experience Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Those looking for a 100% faithful remake of these titles will be disappointed with some of the changes and omissions, especially fans of THPS 4. However, if you just want to revisit these titles and remember why you fell in love with this series in the first place, jumped on with the previous remakes, or are someone completely new to the series, THPS 3 + 4 is the best skateboarding game you can buy on modern consoles. Here’s hoping we can see some full-scale remakes of THUG and THUG 2 somewhere in the near future.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 brings back two skateboarding classics with tight gameplay and solid performance on PS5. While unifying both games under one structure compromises THPS4’s original style, the experience remains fun and content-rich. The limited soundtrack is a letdown, but the spirit of virtual skateboarding is still alive.

If you can live with the differences, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a highly addictive and thus an exceptionally entertaining skateboarding title for both us old-timers and new players alike. It offers enough new content to make up for the missing stuff, so I personally didn’t find the omissions all that bothersome.

THPS 3 + 4 Remake is a nostalgic and technically impressive return to the legendary skateboarding games, managing to retain the spirit of the originals despite a few compromises. While THPS 4 feels slightly stripped down due to its reworked format, the overall package remains rich, fun, and true to the series. For longtime fans - it was worth the wait.
  37. 80
The long-awaited remaster of THPS3 arrives and proves why the original was one of the best games ever made. We're not sure the THPS4 levels bring as much to the party and the overall structure of the game makes everything a bit of a repetitive slog. But the classic Tony Hawk's gameplay, and the significant visual upgrade, make this a winner regardless.

I enjoyed most of my time with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4. It's a reminder of my younger years, and even though I can't see the scrapes and bruises anymore, I'm still fond of every bail off a skateboard I've had in my years. It's still just as fun to get back on the virtual board and see a world filled with familiar faces and the sounds of those tensor trucks hitting the pavement.

Did you enjoy the original games? Then this is definitely recommended thanks to the nostalgia it brings. The visual upgrade does the game justice, the gameplay is delightful as ever and there is once again a huge amount to experience, thanks in part to a number of new levels. It's a shame, though, that the original soundtrack has been changed except for a few tracks, which may feel a bit weird for players of the original. But we can live with that, considering the rest of the game is more than fine.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 has a different developer than its remake predecessor, but it's just as much fun to play. The somewhat weaker soundtrack and stripped-down levels of THPS 4 dampen the fun a bit, but you'll instantly forget that once you've pulled off 52 tricks and a random passerby yells "Do a kickflip!" These timeless games are now even more timeless.
  42. Jul 14, 2025

These new remakes are highly entertaining, immediately gripping and hard to put down. However, the simplification of the career mode and the soundtrack leaves a lot to be desired. Despite this, it's a very entertaining experience.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 doesn’t try to reinvent anything—because it didn’t need to. Its goal is to capture the mood and nostalgia, and bring it into the present with better visuals and tighter gameplay. In that sense, it carries all the strengths of modern games and all the nostalgia of the past: it is what it is, and it doesn’t need to be anything more.

Like the real sport, it’s about perseverance and repetition: when the combos started to flow again for me after a few hours, it felt so freeing. I still don’t think there’s a better skating game out there than old-school Tony Hawk’s, even after all this time – and there’s certainly no better time capsule of this pivotal moment in the history of the sport.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a delightful skateboarding title that series fans can't afford to miss out on. It brings welcome visual updates to classic maps, and the level creator brings plenty of new challenges. While the product placement and lack of evolution from the previous entry scuffs the overall experience, there's still a lot more ups than downs.

    80
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 are excellent games and maintain their arcade feel, compelling players to go all out on combos and pull off insane tricks while chasing high scores. One of the downsides to the remaster is that a significant portion of the previously unlockable characters are missing, as are iconic tracks from the soundtrack. While understandable, it's still a letdown for fans of the additional characters who appreciate the goofy nature these games can offer. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a fantastic remaster of an experience people know and love, with updated visuals, music and gameplay that keep the skating fresh and special.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is another fantastic skateboarding title that revives some all-time classics, albeit with some caveats. It's a shame that 4 couldn't be more faithfully restored, but what is included still makes for a fun arcade skating experience that fans of the series shouldn't skip — especially considering the brand new levels and other neat secrets. It may not be the greatest remake, but it's further proof that there's life yet in this timeless series.

True to its original philosophy, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 returns with a fresh look, featuring numerous changes and improvements that remind us why the series was the king of the genre for years. Beyond its free skating, challenges, combos, moves, and visual enhancements, this comeback is pure, unadulterated love for the world of skateboarding. Iron Galaxy brings back the roguelike format of the first episodes and invites us to crush the stages over and over again to become the best skaters with a range of modes and challenges, competitions, and free skating that is very difficult to resist.

Some remakes simply have the 'money-spinner' label stuck to their foreheads, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 exudes passion through every pore. One could argue that it takes too few risks, but that's a small criticism for such a great game. This second update is pure fun. It's pure arcade fun, with an addictive formula, new cards for the first time in 15 successful years, and an abundance of cosmetics to unlock. A must for fans of the franchise.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a phenomenal game of skate, one that fans would flock to without hesitation if it weren't for some of the strange decisions regarding the game's Career mode and THPS 4 levels. Some of the changes feel needless, and overall, THPS 4 just doesn't fit as well into the same structure as the original three games. It's also disappointing that newcomers won't be able to experience the fourth game the way it was originally intended. Once the initial disappointment fades, however, you're left with a remake that still handles as well as these games ever have, and that's something that's worth playing no matter who you are.
  56. Jul 7, 2025
    80
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a largely successful rejuvenation of the acclaimed 2001 and 2002 originals, and another very welcome time capsule of everything great about the golden age of early 2000s gaming – before microtransactions and battle passes botched everything right up. Like 2020’s 1 + 2 before it, THPS 3 + 4 proves again the series’ over-the-top skateboarding formula is totally timeless and remains suitable for all skill levels; simple at first blush, but extraordinarily sophisticated beneath the surface for those with the minerals (or the muscle memory) to push their combos to colossal levels. However, syncing THPS4 with the classic two-minute timer of the initial trilogy is probably going to be a sore point with fans who strongly regard the series’ fourth installment as their favourite, and discarding a whopping 80% of the original THPS3 and THPS4 soundtracks is a startlingly naive choice to make about such a famously crucial component of those games. No T.N.T.? Watch me explode.

The THPS series shaped my music taste, fashion sense, and more while also delivering an incredibly fun timesink on my PlayStation 2. A perfect remake of these games would do the same all these years later, or at least remind me why they were so impressionable when I was growing up. While Iron Galaxy has excellently modernized the gameplay and graphics of these classics to feel right in 2025, I wish it had done a better job of highlighting the influence these games once had in their heyday.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 delivers a faithful yet refreshed take on two skateboarding classics, with new maps, QoL upgrades, and a massive dose of nostalgia. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 delivers an incredibly fun gaming experience, with massive graphic improvements, responsive controls, splendid gameplay, and great new characters. While the soundtrack leaves a bit to be desired, and some changes to Career mode are questionable, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 gameplay formula remains unbeatable, and there is no doubt this is the best skating game on the market.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is still a Tony Hawk game at heart, and as expected, plays brilliantly. As a package, the plethora of content on offer is easily the best way to revisit the masterful skating experience that was THPS 3, even if it entirely overshadows the meek representation of THPS 4 within the title.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 lives up to the original games and the previous remaster, but doesn't nail the landing quite as well.

    70
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 isn’t quite the love letter its predecessor was. It struggles to capture the rebellious, nostalgic vibe of the originals, and a lot of content is either missing or implemented in a clunky way. On the flip side, the new maps rank among the best the series has ever seen, and the arcade-style flow of chaining together both insane and impossible tricks remains so entertaining that once you hit your first million-point combo, you might just stop caring about the rest.
  64. Jul 15, 2025
    70
Tony Hawk's Pro Skate 3 + 4 uses the same gameplay formula as its predecessor, making it almost as fun. 4's redesign feels intuitive, the soundtrack befits the new coat of paint and the core gameplay is heaps of fun. With that said, character creation and career progression is hollow and unfulfilling, with nothing "new" to get stuck into outside of its 19 levels.
  65. Jul 13, 2025
    70
Truly iconic levels and fun goals contribute to make the first ten or so hours something quite special. It's only too bad that the nostalgia wears thin all too quickly, especially with Pro Skater 4 being a shadow of its former self.
  66. Jul 17, 2025
    50
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 takes the easy route by delivering a game that feels almost identical to the previous remaster, but falls short due to a number of choices that cut back on the original content. With nearly unchanged gameplay, little to no meaningful innovation, trimmed features, and underwhelming visuals, the overall experience ends up feeling diminished.
