    This is a really disappointing game as a huge fan of Super Massive and Until Dawn.
    For context I've played through the game twice (everyone lives & everyone dies)
    - This is far less scary than their previous work - A far less interesting story, with no twists or turns - A lack of meaningful choice (chapters 1-9 are almost identical regardless of what you do) - You are funneled down    This is a really disappointing game as a huge fan of Super Massive and Until Dawn.

    - You are funneled down the same path every play-though
    - 90% of quick time events are meaningless and you cannot fail

    And as usual, nobody sees anything at all. Or they pretend not to see it, because apparently depreciating the masculine gender to inflate the feminine ego has become synonymous with "equality" these days. Misandry, physical and psychological violence against men, always treated naturally by the entertainment industry. I'm sure that if the girls were the targets of the continuous insults, it wouldn't go unnoticed by anyone.

    There are two possibilities here. One, the development team is full of alpha widows that portray the jocks that pumped and dumped them in real life in a way that satisifies their bitterness of not being able to keep them around or two, this studio is full of cucked Communists that are doing everything in their power to emasculate and villanise white men like every single other person in the media is doing too. Terrible story, terrible plot, terrible monsters that look like they haven't even loaded into the game properly, creepy facial animations, social commentary, pandering to people that don't play these games, abysmal ending. The only reason I'm even making reference to anything beyond the propaganda piece that this trash is is so that the moderate wimps that think calling out said propaganda is nonsensical and bitter can actually have a position to defend that doesn't involve their offended emotions.

    Another example of why video games in 2022 are a dead medium and need to be boycotted completely. I haven't even mentioned the terrible business practices that came from these amateur developers joining up with 2K so they really are the most scummy, degenerate, talentless game makers that exist in the industry today, and that's saying something when Rockstar and EA exist.

    Not worth £6, let alone £60. These products need all of the shaming and boycotting that they deserve. And go watch Synthetic Man on YouTube if you want actual reviews and critiques of games that aren't afraid to reveal the truth.

    i signed up for this site just so i can rate this game. I played Until Down, an amazing game. But this quarry is a disappointment ... I bought it for € 55 and will try to sell it for € 45 as soon as possible because I think it will be worth nothing soon.
    graphics 10 points, story 1. Until dawn is 100 times better game.

    The Quarry is a solid game graphically. But compared to "Until Dawn" the writing lacks substance and quality pacing of character development. Feels sloppy.

    When making decisions, it seems to be a repetitive case of the character doing the opposite to what you have chosen as the decision. Action sequences are a lot less frequent in this game compared to "Until Dawn", meaning you are    The Quarry is a solid game graphically.     This game was so ass. Super ass. The majority of the game is spent walking around without a sprint button. Decisions dont mean jack **** and game forces a storyline it wants. Not worth $77.10. **** You The Quarry......

    The so-called "multiplayer" is passing the controller and online will be voting for choices. False advertising. There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, this game will go back to the shelf and collect dust. $70 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. I don't recommend this boring movie at all. Watch the biblical masterpiece that is Top Gun: Maverick instead for a much cheaper price.    … Expand

    Supermassive peaked at until dawn and they should really just give up trying to copy their success they aren’t capable of making a good game again

    Slow walking simulator where you create your own cinematic story but it’s so far fetched and disjointed and disappointing. Compared to until dawn this was such a boring let down. The faces are so janky, there are minimal collectables. The QTEs are atrocious. It’s just long ass cutscenes and you essentially use 3 buttons the whole game. The division into too many chapters causes the emotional circuit to be interrupted halfway. And if you look at it as a story game, the first part does quite well.     The cast is top tier, the majority of the dialogue is engaging and humorous and the plot overall kept me playing. However, this is not a horror game, it is a pick your path story with some horror tropes. A complete absence of tension and gameplay related risk (Reformatted QTEs are ridiculously easy) make for a pretty spook free experience. Expect an idle experience.

    I just didn't engage with the story much, the characters walk too slowly, and 90% of your decisions just affect dialogue. But crucially, I just didn't like how DARK this game was. I don't mean the mood, I mean the lighting. Yes, I understand why they've done this but a lot of the game is spent trying to navigate your way around a literally pitch black environment, even with my brightness settings turned up. Sometimes you're given a torch but it's not very good and the controls are weird. It disincentivised me from exploring the map to find all the collectibles. Finally, I found the characters boring, especially Ryan, who was supposed to be 'brooding' but was actually just lifeless. Also, as someone who is sick of woke culture, you have the standard starter kit here: annoying, squeaky asian woman who thinks she's hot, black man who's soft and gentle and 2 gays (or queer, as the directors call them). All the women show strength, all the men show weakness. There's a relationship where the man wants commitment but the woman just wants fun. There's situations where a man is unable to pull a wooden blockade down, but the woman easily does it. There's a scene where two men struggle to shoot 'targets' but the woman comes along and shoots everything perfectly. I know the radical left thinks if we keep showing these lies to people then they will become self-fulfilling. But they won't. Everybody knows that if a number of men and women are stranded on a dessert island (or whatever), then it will be the men doing the heavy lifting. Because, you know, biology.

    Overall, give it a try if you get it for free. But this game was originally released at full price. Just think about that for a second. But I won't be replaying this to unlock trophies. Boring, unforgettable and predictably woke.    … Expand

    Worse than Until Dawn. Too many missables. No sorry devs, I don't want to replay your games a second time for collectables. You take yourself way to important if you think thats the case.
    The game is pretty, but blurry af.
    Controls are very, very clunky.
    VA's are good.
    A lot of weird animations.

Consistently fails to render properly, little to no impact from choices and checks, outright editing mistakes between and IN cutscenes, no way to skip ahead after completion or in movie mode.. . unlike other Supermassive games, it doesn't even have a proper Epilogue, just aI expected cheesy B-rate horror and dialogue from this studio. I did not expect a totally unfinished product... Consistently fails to render properly, little to no impact from choices and checks, outright editing mistakes between and IN cutscenes, no way to skip ahead after completion or in movie mode.. . unlike other Supermassive games, it doesn't even have a proper Epilogue, just a lazily written two sentence blurb for each character and a mind-numbingly annoying "podcast" that just reiterates all the "clues/evidence" you found while the credits roll. Completely unacceptable to be charging $60 for this. You're better off finding a classic CYA on sale or even the original Until Dawn instead...… Expand

    I like these type of games, more cinematic. Played every previous entry from supermassive (except the last one, with the soldiers) I rate this game a zero because all the g a y crap they put on it. Sorry, g a y crap is not my cup of tea. If I knew i would have saved 70 bucks.

    The only good thing in this game - it's graphic. In some moments the game looked really nice.

    All other aspects are bad - the characters, the gameplay, the plot.

    In my opinion this one is the second worst part after the one with the sunken ship.

    This game sucks ass. It’s legitimately a walking simulator with barely any interaction and some of the worst dialogue I’ve ever heard. There’s a lot of annoying wine garbage in this game as well. Supermassive games have never made an even halfway decent game. I have no idea how they still make games.

    First of all, I had to agree to be spied on, so i played the unpatched version and sound didn't work for the first 45 minutes. next i found a clue or two and then stepped heavily in to excruciating boredom. is the point of this game to waste as much time of the player as possible? I think so. There was literally nothing enjoyable about this game.

    A game which made me hate its developers with all my heart. No manual save, this is absolutely Outrageous. No skippable cut scenes. Characters move so so slowly especially on the stairs. It was so boring and slowly that I fell asleep several times. It’s unplayable without a guide. Even though I was using a guide I made a few mistakes during QTE And the only way to fix it was to start allA game which made me hate its developers with all my heart.     This game is pretty bad. A lot of the dialogues in this game are immersion breaking. Sometimes a character says one thing and the other just responds in a very unnatural way. They also react to the crazy things happening around them very unrealisticly too, sometimes making jokes while in danger.

    Terrible writing, insufferable characters, and abysmal pacing; made all the worse by the fact that you can't skip through any of cringe-inducing dialogue.

    Pound for pound, the single most annoying and boring game i've ever played.

    I deleted it after the first chapter. I missed a collectible and wanted to restart just the chapter so I can retrieve it -- to find out I have to beat the entire game before I am allowed to do that.... Yeah, I am not playing this game 2x, and go through all that unskippable dialog again? Nope. Delete!!!
    PS -- Until Dawn is still great though!

    **** sucks. Like really sucks. Worse gameplay of all time. Truly a waste of 10 hours. This game is 10 hours of continuity errors. Thinking your choices matter only for some random **** to happen and you find out it doesn’t.

    Don't buy it if you don't like horror stories with stereotipycal characters. The game isn't a game after all, there is no point in making decisions if they don't change anything... (the story isn't great either)
    These games have their bases in the story with decisions to make and in the acting which is garbage honestly...

    Even though, graphics is pretty cool, the plot is an absolute disappointment. Werewolves are looking like freaking recycling of vendigos from the Until dawn.
    And wtf is underneath the limits of "you can not use the mode of saving a character" in couch co-op? Are you kidding me? Why?
    So, if we were playing as 1 player and were just passing the controller - it's ok, but for the couch co-op - hell no!
    And of course, if you finished the game in couch co-op, you can't choose the chapter and play as a single player. I believe these magnificent limitations were designed by    … Expand

    Game looks amazing, there is little interaction(its more like a movie). But I can't recommend it since its a 9 hours at most game, with such a garbage ending that left me so unsatisfied I wont recommend it to anyone.

    The Quarry does a fine job as a spiritual successor to the renowned Until Dawn, yet takes a few steps forward when it comes to character development and atmosphere building. Unfortunately, it sacrifices a few elements in the process which makes it a not so scary interactive movie more than a video game. Still, for lovers of the genre and Supermassive Games legacy – it’s a treat you should not miss.

    This game, or interactive movie if you prefer, is a great experience for horror fans. The story, gameplay (minimalistic as it is) and the acting are some of the best I've seen in this genre yet. While there are some things that do break the immersion, it's still an experience for lovers of visual novels and horror fans alike.

    The Quarry sits comfortably near the top of the interactive movie genre. Equal parts clever and terrifying, it earns its ten-hour runtime with a series of twists and turns that are sure to delight. There’s action, romance, comedy, and unbelievably disgusting violence. Supermassive Games have delivered a rollercoaster that serves as a fabulous follow-up to Until Dawn, so anyone who enjoys the genre will be in for one hell of a ride.
