This game was a massive improvement over the previous games and took it in different direction and it pulled off

In my opinion the best Dark Pictures game to date. Game has good jumpscares and a compelling story. Characters are a bit blended but the murder castle really makes up for it. Fantastic game!

Avoiding all spoilers as these games are always fun to explore yourself. It's your typical run of the mill Supermassive game that got pumped out quickly. It's not the strongest in the series, but it's definitely a worthy entry that keeps you guessing. Can't wait for more games like this to come from them!

Though the audio for the voice overs wasn’t that great. The same for the facial expressions at times. With that said, I enjoyed this Dark Pictures game the most. Since the ending feels more finished, even more so than Until Dawn or the Quarry.
An actual killer is what I have been waiting for. This game delivered that. Even if what I want is more slasher and less Saw.

I’m really enjoying every game from this series. Every story is different. Games have good length and amazing visuals. It’s like watching a good movie every year.

Another solid game from supermassive games. As a fan of these series, I recommend to play it. It’s not as good as House of Ashes to me , but still it is really good and we enjoyed our playthrough

I have been a fan of supermassive games for a while now and ever since until dawn I have bought all the dark pictures games and The quarry. First I want to point out that this game had some significant technical issues when i got it day one nothing game breaking in my experience, but it definitely broke the immersion.
What they got right: The story was good, which tackled the slasher
I have been a fan of supermassive games for a while now and ever since until dawn I have bought all the dark pictures games and The quarry. First I want to point out that this game had some significant technical issues when i got it day one nothing game breaking in my experience, but it definitely broke the immersion.
What they got right: The story was good, which tackled the slasher horror archetype. The game also had good atmosphere and tension. I liked the characters and also the kills were fun, something that's definitely needed in a slasher "movie"
Some issues: Some of the animations were a little stiff. There was one part in the beginning where the animations seemed so off.
Like both characters were stargazing around the room watching ufo's instead of looking at each other. Though after the patch I didn't see anything else the game that was as bad so it might have been a technical thing. Second they tried to implement more mobility options(shimmying, crawling and climbing ledges). Its not technically a bad thing, but They overdid it for this type of game. There is no problem including these things in the game especially during exploration. But it should be minimal and blended in without breaking immersion. There were a couple of moments were they felt like they were tacked on for the sake of it. And they were long too. I felt these few instances were cheap time wasters that took away from the interactive cinema motif that this developer is so good at doing

Other then that I was satisfied when i beat it and the game doesn't deserve the extreme low or extreme high user scores on here. But it was a bit of a step in the wrong direction. Even though it was still a great entry in the series, I'm not looking forward to replaying those platforming segments in my journey to see different outcomes.

Another great game from Dark Pictures. Jumpscares are amazing and the scene is greatly set by focussing on the story of HH Holmes. Terrific work once again!

This one is absolutely fantastic, by far the best one of the series. Really a great game that is up there with Until Dawn. After House of Ashes i thought the series is dead already but Devil in me is **** legendary. It is really much better than the other 3 games of the series.

The story is shallow, the finale unsatisfying, and aside from about four instances, your choices have absolutely no impact on the story. The constantly escalating music runs on a loop and is rather distracting. The last part of the tetralogy is simply stupid. [Issue#324]

While Supermassive’s formula is starting to need a bit of a punch-up, and the H. H. Holmes Murder Castle is surprisingly less compelling than the earlier anthology settings, The Devil in Me is still a solid slasher story for horror fans to enjoy.

The Devil in Me gives us more of the compilation's typical gameplay. However, its visual aspect feels neglected, and its story takes several hours to start.
