    The Devil in Me is a great game for horror fans, as well as those who enjoy true crime. As soon as I recognized H. H. Holmes from the prologue, I felt excited about what was in store. Its characters are inoffensive — some may consider them bland — but the plot helps to make up for them for the most part. With its relatively short play time, it’s an easy game to loop in order to achieve the best ending. Or, perhaps you can channel your inner Holmes and attempt to kill them all. Like the Curator says in the beginning, the choice is in your hands. You’re culpable for who lives and who dies.

    The latest game in Supermassive Games' horror series does not live up to the evolutionary line that the studio has drawn over time. After House of Ashes, this new experience was expected to follow the same formula. Unfortunately, The Devil in Me is a step backwards, where the characters don't arouse our interest, even though the scenario are meticulously thought out. This could have been an excellent game but ended up having an extremely negative impact due to narrative and performance problems.

    There is still a fundamental enjoyment to be had here; Supermassive still has the formula down pat, but an underwhelming story and a lack of ideas closes ‘season one’ of The Dark Pictures on a decidedly downbeat note.

    I thought this was Supermassive's best game since Until Dawn and Man of Medan. Atmosphere was super creepy and plot was strong in theI thought this was Supermassive's best game since Until Dawn and Man of Medan. Atmosphere was super creepy and plot was strong in the beginning. Characters were pretty good too. The game started to drag in the middle to end sections with long escape sections though. Overall, it was an enjoyable entry in the series.… Expand

Especially the feeling of being part of the action is really good in the fourth episode. However, some moments in the various decisions are not always comprehensible. Above all, the cooperative mode in "The Devil in Me" is fun with another player and even enriches the gaming experience in the solo campaign. Thus, we can only recommend the title to fans of the series to experience the finale. Interesting players* should also enjoy taking a look at "The Dark Pictures Anthology" series.… Expand
