Jun 2, 2023At this point, there’s not much I can say about Super Mega Baseball 4 that I didn’t already say about Super Mega Baseballs 1, 2, and 3: like its predecessors, it’s an outstanding baseball game that’s a lot more fun to play than the annualized PlayStation flagship MLB game. Any worries that a higher profile or a bigger budget would hurt the game are unfounded. In fact, four games in, this might just be the best Super Mega Baseball game yet.

Jun 7, 2023I found myself having fun with Super Mega Baseball 4. I liked how I could just jump in and play a short inning game when short on time, or set up a longer tournament when I wanted a little more baseball action than that. The online play works well, games are relatively quick so you can easily get a few games in without a major investment in time. And the adjustable challenge makes it fun for younger as well as older gamers, as well as those who only casually follow the sport and those who can reel off the stats for each of the legends in the game.

Jun 4, 2023Super Mega Baseball 4 is my favourite baseball game of all time thanks to its top-notch customizable gameplay, oodles of modes, and hilarious and welcoming atmosphere. Plus, it reminded me why I've always loved baseball games even from the good old NES days.

Jun 2, 2023Super Mega Baseball 4 may not reinvent the franchise's formula, but the addition of the Legends and the massive visual upgrade seen here is more than enough to keep the series on track. It is highly recommended for baseball fans looking for a light and quick fun.
-
Jun 6, 2023Super Mega Baseball 4 is mostly more of the same, but when we’re talking about such a strong series, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The excellent core gameplay here is as great as ever, and the fantastic new Shuffle Draft mode combined with a ton of baseball legends to take on the field should grab the attention of both new players and existing fans of the series. If you’re happy with one of the past games in the series, Super Mega Baseball 4 may not be a must-have upgrade, but it’s definitely the best baseball game on the market.
-
Jun 2, 2023Even though Super Mega Baseball 4 is a good game that fans of this sport will surely appreciate, after three years, we would have expected a general step forward that has yet to quite happen. Franchise mode was further improved, and the addition of some baseball legends is still welcome, but some athlete animations still need to be fixed, and the HUD felt too confusing. In short, if you are looking for an excellent alternative to MLB The Show 23, Super Mega Baseball 4 could be a good choice, even if the series developed by San Diego Studio undoubtedly remains the best on the market.
-
Jun 2, 2023Repetitive gameplay and no sense of progression hamper an otherwise fine entry to the series. Super Mega Baseball 4 could be better if there was more to do than the same thing over and over again.
