    What a refreshing and original concept. Controls are very tight and responsive. Easy to pick up and learn. Graphics are more “next gen” than anything on Xbox Series, ( I own it) and the music and sound is top notch. There’s an interesting and easy to follow story with some beautiful artistry to support it. There’s no blood and gore, nudity, swearing, or explosions, and this is the bestWhat a refreshing and original concept. Controls are very tight and responsive. Easy to pick up and learn. This is the type of game I buy Playstation for and thank you to everyone who worked on this and the publishers who took a chance on something new and different. There’s an audience of people who are sick to death of the same games every year and endless sequels. I’ll take this over Call of Duty 20 or Madden 30 any day. Worth owning a PS5 for and simply a great game-do yourself a favor and play it if you’re able.… Expand

    Great, original little game with great cyberpunk vibes! Finally a non-human protagonist + some really cool ideas in terms of story (love the writing), and can’t wait for a sequel!!

    A must play for gamers who love atmosphere and imaginative, creative worlds. Not only is it gorgeous to look at and play, but there is such a charm and beauty to the simplicity of Stray. It’s very straight forward with a few chapters to roam at your own leisure, but it’s such a tight package that so well made that I enjoyed two playthroughs and after some time away from it, I’m almostA must play for gamers who love atmosphere and imaginative, creative worlds.     A great little game right here. Visually the game looks great, specifically the animation on the cat. The gameplay is tight and movement and platforming felt very fluid and easy to pull off. The story was very wholesome, cute and was a joy to play. The in-between moments as well were a delight and allowed you to really sink into the world that the developers have created here, whetherA great little game right here.     It's more original and creative games like this we need.
    Kudos on Annapurna for supporting small studios like this and giving them the resources to bring their visions out into the world. This is a great game with an amazing premise, breathtaking scenery and atmosphere, and a great story that doesn't overstay its welcome. I hope we get more games like this and Sifu in the years to come.

    The cuteness of this title, the amazing environmental design, the story and the gameplay make of this game one of the better game I've ever played this year. Great work for a so small team.

    One of the most beautiful, enchanting, touching games ever made. A spell-binding cyber punk fairytale, with the most adorable protagonist you will ever play as. Granted, the actual game play challenge is fairly limited, but that is not the focus. It's an unforgettable, immersive experience that will make you fall in love with the medium again.

    Fell in love as soon as I first saw Stray few years back and it has more than surpassed my expectations.
    Brilliant visuals coupled with an beautifully detailed world.
    Soundtrack and audio in general is top notch as well as the lifelike animation.
    Intriguing story and such a joy to explore and discover more lore.
    More fully fledged out sequel would be pure ecstasy.

Everything felt perfectly crafted, aiming high without over-reaching. While the game can be beaten in under 2 hours (for the reward of a trophy), I loved my 9 hour first play through, taking time to learn and doFun and engaging gameplay accompanied by an intriguing story and cute cat.     It's a fresh concept and a really good entrance for a possible new genre, it's not perfect but it's an honest game, good visuals and atmosphere, great soundtrack( already available on streaming services) and a compelling story with compelling characters. Animal and cat lovers will have the time of their lives. Consider this game as a breath of fresh air, a passing breeze.     What a beautiful game. Both visually, from a story telling perspective and from its presentation. A game where you play as a cat with a backpack, with no spoken dialogue and no big name developer might put some people off. But I had the most wonderful time playing this. I literally loved every minute of it. It's such a charming game that you cant help but fall in love with it. The Sci-FiWhat a beautiful game. The Sci-Fi aesthetic really works for this game as it creates a mystery for both the player and the feline character you play. You're never quite sure about certain things although you somewhat recognise them.
    all in all I really do think that this game is well deserving of a 10, because I cannot find a fault with it. I've tried but just couldn't think of anything. If you're on the fence about this game, don't be, it will charm you and you'll walk away feeling glad that you have played it.    … Expand

    Definitely GOTY! I loved this game from start to finish. 100% finished the game within 10 hours. According to other reviews I can be done within 8 hours. I enjoyed the game way too much.
    The game is so cute. Not the game we expected, but the game we needed and deserved.

    My only complaint is that it ends! What an amazing game for cat lovers. Lots of stuff that cat owners will relate. Good story, very nice gameplay. A very easy and light game that left me smiling while playing.

However, with that much hype, their is higher expectations. Did Stray meet those expectations? YES!!!! Let me first start off by saying that this game wont be for everyone. It isn't high paced non stopThe Cat Game!. So what is to be said about Stray? If I'm honest, this was one of my most anticipated games of the year. When they first showed the trailer I was hooked into this world. However, with that much hype, their is higher expectations. Did Stray meet those expectations? YES!!!! Let me first start off by saying that this game wont be for everyone. It isn't high paced non stop action, although you have those moments. It is mostly a lowkey chill type of game. A game where you'll go off into the city before doing the story missions. This is a game where you can stare into the city and get lost in its vibrant colors and unique robots. This game wants you to have a chill time. Hell, you can achieve a trophy for just sleeping for a hour! This game wants you to wonder through the city like a stray cat. It's a fun time. When you aren't wondering or doing side content, the story isn't bad itself. No spoiler but by the end I felt emotional and connected to these robots and to the Cat. It's a great game, a stunning world, and a simple yet beautiful story. Stray isn't going to be winning any GOTY awards . BUT, with so many big blockbuster games coming out, the one that will stick with me is the one about a Stray cat.… Expand

    From the get go, this game seems like a light hearted adventure, simplistic by design and story. But this game hides its story in layers, rather than shoving them in your face.

    It's a bold and loud 9/10, ONLY due to its length, could easily enjoy a couple of hours more.
    However, since I got it for "free" due to the clever PS Plus Premium timing, here's your 10!
    Congrats to Annapurna (can these guys make a crappy game? Seems not) for this magnificent emotional experience/journey.
    That's PURE GAMING!

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
