May 26, 2025RoadCraft is the current culmination of the MudRunner ethos, balancing the series’ tough vehicular action with new mechanics, improved multiplayer, and a renewed focus on fun. Slow fun, but definitely still fun.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft is a must-play for fans of construction simulators. There is a coziness in the laborious nature of its gameplay that is hard to resist, and with a huge amount of content, you’ll be busy cleaning up natural disasters for dozens of hours.
-
Jun 30, 2025Roadcraft perfectly describes the rough everyday life of a construction worker in rugged landscapes.
-
Jun 2, 2025Saber Interactive are back, pulling no punches with the style they've crafted. It may put off newcomers, but RoadCraft is a solid entry to their brand of realistic rambling. Switching from vehicle maintenance to large-scale community repair is a nice choice, only marred with occasionally inconsistent textures, non-intuitive controls and often cumbersome tasks.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft may have slipped up slightly in a vital gameplay aspect, but it's undeniable that the new mission proposal, which focuses on more than just exploration, increases the range of possibilities for future games. Being able to drive heavy machinery vehicles and get your hands dirty, as well as being able to delegate an automatic fleet to perform specific transportation tasks, were key factors in diversifying the missions and avoiding the feeling of repetition of previous games.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft is a game that will require absolute patience if you want to get the job done, while adding some leeway to speed things up a bit. While game progression is slow, it is part of its charm as these are heavy work vehicles, and they’re not made for speed, thus fitting its theme. The world is very well-detailed and eases you into its mechanics throughout your gameplay. While sometimes repetitive, it compensates with different strategies to complete the task. The beautiful landscapes of your work areas make it forgiving when your vehicle travels through the rough terrain. It’s like you’re doing actual work as seen in real life, thus creating a great simulation game.
-
May 19, 2025Overall, RoadCraft offers a unique enough twist on the established Spintires formula, if a streamlined one, to be worth giving a go. Some series veterans will end up longing for the elements it’s stripped out, especially when the new stuff that’s been drafted in is being more frustrating than fun. But, that central loop of frustration giving way to jubilation as you overcome the environment is still there and regularly just as satisfying.
-
May 19, 2025While Roadcraft can slow to a crawl at times and has moments of frustration because of it, it’s still a lot of fun bringing civilisation back to these battered biomes.
-
May 19, 2025RoadCraft takes the intricate off-road fun of MudRunner and SnowRunner, and melds it with involving micro-management and building aspects, resulting in a fantastic experience that's the dev's best vehicle sim to date. With eight big maps full of ruined environs and treacherous conditions to contend with, a huge array of complex vehicles to master, and co-op play to maximise the fun of it all, this is a big old blast of a thing, a huge sandbox that's got excitement, depth, and challenge in spades.
-
May 19, 2025Roadcraft is a good mix of SnowRunner and Expeditions: A MudRunner Game. The new building mechanics adds variety and new challenges. A smart evolution for fans and newbies.
-
May 20, 2025Despite minor frustrations, *Roadcraft* manages to deliver an engaging and unique experience. By focusing more on restoring infrastructure than driving in the absence of it, there's less immediate challenge compared to its predecessors. After all, it’s less about carefully steering a massive truck up a narrow mountain trail, and more about making that mountain accessible through thoughtful planning. It’s surprisingly fun and varied work—but you do need to have patience for it.
-
Jun 4, 2025RoadCraft is the most accessible entry in the SnowRunner family, shifting the focus more toward gameplay than simulation. While it strips away some of the entertaining, yet realistic systems from its predecessors, it more than makes up for it with its own innovations. Unfortunately, the simulation lacks consistency, and the game's poor technical performance can easily rob you of hours of driving fun.
-
May 26, 2025Roadcraft offers an impressive wealth of content and a deep suite of simulation tools that should, in theory, appeal to fans of the genre. However, the game stumbles in key areas that significantly impact the overall experience. Clunky controls make even basic tasks feel frustrating, the slow and often unrewarding progression drags down momentum, and the interface lacks the clarity and accessibility needed for smooth navigation. These persistent issues overshadow the game's strengths, making it a tough sell—even for the most devoted simulation enthusiasts.
