Jul 29, 2025Ready or Not’s grounded, gritty gameplay is one of the best tactical experiences on console. It requires you to take it seriously to be successful, but that’s what an elite tactical shooter will do. If you’re into this sort of thing, I highly recommend it.
-
Jul 24, 2025The Ready or Not PS5 port is excellent. The measured, tactical gameplay features action-packed moments and some of the most memorable co-op gameplay you can have. Unafraid to deal with content that most other shooters would shy away from, this is a brave shooter that is as interesting as it is to play. Anyone looking for something different from standard FPS games should give it a shot with friends.
-
Jul 17, 2025Tough, tactical, and totally uncompromising, Ready or Not delivers a standout experience for those after something smarter than your average shooter. Every encounter demands precision and patience, with real consequences for poor decisions. Ready or Not is a must-play for fans of methodical, high-stakes gunplay.
-
Jul 30, 2025For players craving a slower-paced, tactical squad-based shooter, Ready or Not is a must-play.
-
Aug 3, 2025Ready or Not absolutely nails the feeling of being in an Elite SWAT unit, packing mass appeal for tactical shooter fans.
-
Jul 14, 2025If you’ve been looking for a SWAT simulator for console—and judging by the game’s popularity on the PlayStation Store, a lot of people have—Ready or Not really is as good as they come. It could do with some more polished controls across the board, but VOID Interactive has done a great job bringing the game to a lot more players, even if PC gamers must suffer some very minor consequences.
-
Jul 14, 2025Ready or Not is an excellent cooperative first-person shooter. The immersion is fantastic, with outstanding realism. There are many moments of tension and team communication. However, there are some issues, such as the single-player bots being quite difficult to control. Furthermore, the game was clearly designed for five players, so many levels become unnecessarily long and difficult with fewer players.
-
Jul 14, 2025Ready or Not is a first person shooter that hits the mark by offering a realistic and bloody vision of the criminal world. Its varied and numerous missions will keep you glued to the controller in this PS5 and Xbox X Series X|S version that establishes itself as a good port for one of the games that have most refreshed the genre recently.
-
Jul 16, 2025Ready or Not's core design, focused on cooperation and realism, makes it a must-have for those looking for something more cerebral and atmospheric within the shooter genre today.
-
Jul 28, 2025I didn't think it was possible, but Ready or Not’s unique thrills and overwhelming controls have adapted well to the PlayStation 5.
-
Jul 25, 2025Ready or Not is a unique cooperative shooter. It’s not casual fun in the way Helldivers 2 can be. That means it certainly won’t be for everyone, and the solo experience doesn’t hold a light to playing with friends for us. However, those elements mixed in with a harrowing and outright disturbing tone make Ready or Not one of the most immersive co-op experiences available on PS5 right now.
-
Jul 21, 2025Few games can compare to the unsparing and ferocious intensity that permeates through every part of Ready or Not's gameplay or presentation. The more controversial themes and imagery will likely be as stomach churning for some as the often times inconsistent AI and multiplayer experiences. Yet I still found myself returning to duty to bring order to the chaos. Ready or Not is a tough and unforgiving game, but one that's simultaneously rewarding and stressfully evoking.
-
Jul 17, 2025A very good port for a poignant game with tactical gameplay of rare tension in an equally impressive universe.
-
Jul 15, 2025The console version of Ready or Not retains both the best and worst aspects of the PC game. Although it suffers from performance issues and crashes that could be resolved with future updates, it stands out visually for its impressive graphics, despite some minor bugs.
-
Jul 15, 2025While it may not overtake its inspiration, Ready or Not offers an unflinching tactical shooter experience with tense missions and brutal circumstances.
-
Jul 14, 2025With its clever scenarios and sense of randomness, Ready or Not offers an exciting team-based tactical shooting formula that's great fun.
-
Jul 14, 2025Ready or Not is more than just a game; it's a harrowing yet deeply satisfying journey into the unforgiving world of tactical law enforcement. Its meticulous detail, varied missions, and high replayability ensure that the "one more mission" feeling persists long after you've completed the main objectives. For anyone seeking a challenging, immersive, and genuinely impactful tactical shooter, Ready or Not stands as a resounding success on consoles.
-
Jul 14, 2025For those who count Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and SWAT 4 among some of the best tactical shooters around, playing Ready or Not feels like riding a bike. Even with the adjustment of going from PC to console, Ready or Not still shoots to the top of the list of tactical shooters available on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, because there's simply not much else on the market like it.
-
Jul 14, 2025Ready or Not can be a little formulaic at times, but so is police work. It's the second police game I've reviewed this year, but the first one I can wholeheartedly recommend. If you are here for the multiplayer, the PC players might move too fast for you, but you can just disable crossplay. The controls are intuitive, the AI is generally easy to command apart from some menu clunkiness, and the dystopian grit looks great on a big TV screen. I'm definitely going back to playing the PC version most of the time, but that doesn't stop Ready or Not from being the best tactical shooter available on consoles today.
-
Jul 14, 2025Ready Or Not is an incredible co-op experiencing, blending tough-as-nails encounters with hilarious co-op shenanigans and dynamic objectives. It isn't nearly as much fun singleplayer, but it's definitely just as tense.
-
Jul 14, 2025Ready or Not isn't a game built on fun and frolics, but teamwork and quick thinking, and if you engage on its terms you'll find plenty to get excited about.
-
Jul 14, 2025Putting you in control of a SWAT team, Ready or Not tasks you with diffusing a variety of hostile situations. As you'd expect, it's a tense and atmospheric affair, where making effective use of commands is a must. And while I think it particularly shines in single-player, you can still have fun online if you can get a good team together.
-
Jul 15, 2025Ready or Not is a tense, strategy-focused tactical FPS where careful planning matters more than speed. It offers immersive, high-stakes missions and a strong sense of realism but struggles with clunky controls, a steep learning curve, and downgraded visuals on consoles. A rewarding yet demanding experience for patient players.
-
Jul 30, 2025Ready or Not has arrived on consoles with a streamlined package that preserves much of its original essence. Even though some details have been altered, the core challenge of entering a building full of armed men, surviving gunfire, and rescuing hostages remains just as rewarding as before. Despite some launch issues — such as lost save files and the already mentioned censorship accusations — the game remains one of the most visceral simulation experiences available on consoles, making it a great choice for fans of the genre.
-
Jul 25, 2025Ready or Not isn’t a Fugees tie-in, it’s a SWAT-em-up in a similar vein to Rainbox Six Vegas. Just with rougher edges and glitches a plenty. It purports to put your squad members mental wellbeing front and centre but it only really relates to whether they’re able to join you on your next mission. It’s alright though and we’ll keep dipping in and out for a while.
-
Aug 4, 2025Gripping, no-frills action with annoying rough edges - but so spot-on in terms of content that the big shooters should take a leaf out of their book.
-
Aug 4, 2025When things are working, Ready or Not can be a lot of fun. The problem, is, Ready or Not rarely works, either as expected, as intended, or as I’d like it to. Some may enjoy its edginess, and others may find a completely different experience engaging in multiplayer. I’m frankly too concerned about toxicity from what I’ve heard in single-player to dabble in this exercise with randoms on mics.

Jul 18, 2025On the merits of just being a really good game, it’s easy to recommend. But if you’re not comfortable with some of the subject matter, I’d suggest staying away from this one. [Highly Recommended]
