    Best PS5 game to date from a technical perspective. Very well crafted from all perspectives. Gameplaywise very much like the first game (which I guess is to be expected). If you like the first game this is a solid buy. Great for kids, my 5 yr old loves this game. Solid 9 if you ask me, i have fun playing too.

    Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a joyful new game in the series, taking advantage of the PS5's SSD to deliver some new things that couldn't be done on PS4.

    If you've played any previous Ratchet and Clank game before, you'll feel at home with this one. This is a story based 3rd person shooter with platforming elements and great characters. Crazy gadgets and weapons have always been what    Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a joyful new game in the series, taking advantage of the PS5's SSD to deliver some new things that couldn't be done on PS4.

    If you've played any previous Ratchet and Clank game before, you'll feel at home with this one. This is a story based 3rd person shooter with platforming elements and great characters. Crazy gadgets and weapons have always been what makes this series' gameplay stand out. Previous games have featured sandbox-style open levels but this new game offers a couple of levels that are quite large maps, almost open worlds on their own complete with side quests and NPCs. They are so big in fact that you are given rocket boots to travel faster than by feet, as if driving a vehicle.

    Shooting enemies is the main activity but there are also other things to do. First there are the dimensional puzzles of Clank. Then there are the twin stick shooter levels with Glitch where you clean up viruses in computers. There are a few racing sequences with the speed bug (not races to win a trophy, but just races to escape). And you can find many dimensional bubbles, or rather mini levels, to explore for bonuses.

    No other game out there delivers this experience of instantaneous dimension hopping as well as this game does, thanks to the ultra fast SSD. There is also a sequence far into the game with the giant robot seen in the trailers that couldn't possibly be done on PS4 in a real-time in-engine cutscene. Instead on PS5 this sequence is rendered in real-time and playable, even though it's on-rails and scripted, but so much is happening that PS4 could only playback an FMV video of it.

    Insomniac Games again deliver an outstanding amount of choice when it comes to graphics and frame rate. Similar to what they've done with Spiderman Remastered and Miles Morales, you can choose between a Quality mode (dynamic 4K30 with Ray Tracing reflections), a Performance mode (dynamic 4K60 without RT) and a Performance RT mode (dynamic 1080p60 with Ray Tracing reflections). Personally I always play these games on Performance RT mode because it offers the best of both worlds (60 fps and RT). Recently the developers patched a new 120Hz mode that allows you to play the game with lower latency at 60 fps for the Performance Modes (with and without Ray Tracing) and a 40 fps option when selecting the (normally 30 fps) Fidelity Mode at 4K resolution.

    The star of the show is the Dualsense controller. The haptics ain't as good as those of Astro's Playroom (a game literally designed around the Dualsense), but the adaptive triggers basically act as 2 buttons each. Most of the weapons provide 2 modes, like press the trigger halfway for a single shot or press it fully to switch to continuous fire. Input latency is also low. The 3D Audio effect is pretty neat, too, especially with headphones.

    The story isn't anything sophisticated. Just like previous games, it's merely an excuse to zap enemy robots with exotic weaponry. But the concept of the dimension hopping is well-realized by centering the plot around the dimensionator weapon shown in the trailers. You've probably heard it already, so here it is. With dimension hopping you get to meet alternate versions of the established characters. Rivet is a good new character, but she replaces Ratchet as lead character for most of the game's duration.

    One little complaint that I have about this game is the bugs. The game doesn't crash, nor is my character launched into space. Some times when speeding up with the rocket boots through a level I get stack as if I was hitting an invisible wall when it shouldn't happen, easily solved with a simple jump. Other times I have encountered mission progression bugs (mostly on Clank's dimension puzzle levels when swapping spheres), which is easily fixed with a checkpoint restart. Last but not least, although this game has plenty of quality, I wish it had a bit more content or a lower price. At $70/80 Euros this game costs a bit too much money.

    Overall Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a technical showcase for the PS5. Developers Insomniac Games are easily my favorite Sony studio after releasing multiple quality games within 3 years (Spiderman, Spiderman Remastered, Miles Morales, now Rift Apart). Can't wait for their next game.    … Expand

    Some people moan about the length of this game - as an adult with not much time I found the length fine. Took me about 15-20 hours on hard difficulty with mass exploration.
    This is a beautiful game that runs very nicely and shows you just how much the ps5 can do.
    The story is fairly good, the combat is really nice and the design is top notch. Give it a Go!     What a great game, the graphics and music are great, the characters are fun and lovable, my only complaint is that it’s a bit short. Absolutely loved it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Such an amazing game, I platinumed it three days ago, and I keep thinking about going back and replaying it again and again, I never felt that way before, and its such a beautiful game, probably the most beautiful on PS5 so far, the ray-tracing is spectacular, voice acting and animations are superb, and combat and weapons are incredibly fun.

    The only reason I didn't score this at 10 are because of these slight gripes I had with the game:

    - Enemies are not varied enough, mostly same robots (they're more varied later on, but look essentially the same) and Thugs-4-Less guys from beginning of game, mini-bosses also get repeated a bunch with no difference (juggernauts) or minimal difference like the pirate juggernauts but they have too similar of move sets (stomp then beam, rinse and repeat).

    - Omega weapons were disappointing, thought there would be a big difference between level 5 and Omega, but the difference is just in power, no cool effects added as far as I know.

    - Protagonists repeat dialogue too often, I don't need to have Clank and Rivet say the same story lines over and over again just because I temporarily exit and come back to a place when its needed, like in Arena (from Arena to vendor and back), and I don't need Clank or Ratchet to constantly remind me that I got to go to the mission points when I just want to explore first, it gets annoying.

    - UI and game explanations need slight improvement, like show that you can buy all upgrades for a weapon by pressing triangle from the weapon selection menu of Upgrades, and it should be explained that the more damage you do with a weapon, the faster it levels (tested with Ice and Topiary).

    This is definitely the best Ratchet and Clank game though, and I absolutely loved jetting around with the jet boots, I really hope they're in the next installment, and I can't wait for more!    … Expand

From the smallest creatures having fully detailed models to the incredible particle effects that get emitted from the    Rachet and Clank Rift Apart just proves Insomniacs incredible skills in creating games. Rift Apart id definitely game of the year contender!

    Rift Apart not only delivers a incredible story but it’s probably got the best looking graphics of the new generation of consoles! From the smallest creatures having fully detailed models to the incredible particle effects that get emitted from the arch weapon. It’s a fun and beautiful experience.

    The dual sense also feels amazing with Rift Apart where they take full advantage of the haptic feedback and vibration. Pulling the trigger will have 2 modes, halfway which gives you the normal effect of the gun and then when you fully pull down the trigger to use the guns full power.

    Rachet and clank Rift Apart truly shows the potential and extent Insomniac takes to create a incredible game. Rift Apart is a must play on the PS5 to see the power and potential of the next generation consoles!    … Expand

This is a MUST BUY and something to grab right away if you get a chance to get a PS5.

    This is the best in the series to date and being exclusive to playstation shows how well they are doing with their own game studios. This game takes full advantage of the ps5! No loading times, beautiful graphic inputs with 4k 60 fps or you can do raytracing which looks absolutely amazing. This is a must own for the next gen and could potentially be a game of the year contender.

    Le jeu est parfait, rien à dire de négatif dessus. Les combats sont ultra fluide, les commandes sont facile à apprendre, le chargement est instantané donc pas d'attente. J'aime bien que les doublure française soient les mêmes que le film sortie il ya pas longtemps. Le seul point négatif n'est pas si grave et est que si tu essaies de prendre un raccourci mais qu'il y ai un genre de murLe jeu est parfait, rien à dire de négatif dessus. Les combats sont ultra fluide, les commandes sont facile à apprendre, le chargement est instantané donc pas d'attente. J'aime bien que les doublure française soient les mêmes que le film sortie il ya pas longtemps. Le seul point négatif n'est pas si grave et est que si tu essaies de prendre un raccourci mais qu'il y ai un genre de mur pour bloquer le personnage pour limiter ces déplacements et si tu essaies quand même et bien tu meurs.… Expand

Все функции Dualsense естт. Но есть один минус - это сюжет. Он детский, но посуте игра и создавалась для детей. И ещё не понятно будет ли продолжение. Если нет то игра не показала всю концовку.… Expand

    What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going.     The experience is so captivating, you’ll probably want to blast through the entire 10-15 hour story in one go. But the final is really disappointing: basically, the entire game is just a warm-up, while the important events will happen in the next one. [Issue#254, p.36]
