Post Trauma is a loving tribute to those early generation survival horror games. It contains the best and worst attributes of said games. Thanks to today’s technology in terms of computing power and game engines like Unreal 5, Post Trauma has high production values. The creators’ respect for the genre is clear in all aspects of the final product. For veteran gamers and horror aficionados, this game will be a wonderful trip down memory lane. Post Trauma is available on platforms.

Post Trauma offers so much in exchange for almost nothing. A classic survival horror that every Resident Evil and Silent hill fan will enjoy.

Fans of classic survival horror will find this modern take on the genre partially satisfying. However, the content is largely unoriginal, and the uncomfortable camerawork is off-putting.

Although well-intentioned, the game tries to embrace the world and show different approaches to survival horror in a shallow and unremarkable way, which makes it a morbid and forgettable experience in a genre full of unforgettable and excellent titles, whether on the indie scene or big AAAs.

Post Trauma tries to bring back the horror of the 90s in a mix with the current. However, the way it was done made the game generic and without identity. Although it is not terrible, it is not worth the investment.

While Post Trauma creates excellent horror through its environments, camera work and sound design, it sadly misses the survival part of the survival horror genre. Great puzzle design alone isn't enough when you still have to endure the clunky combat without real item management.
