    So another NFS game. People said it was a true successor to underground and most wanted so boy oh boy was I excited! Only to get reslly disappointed yet again.
    Let's start with the positives: the game looks good. The customization is good as always, and the sound is also pretty good. But this is where the good stuff ends. The characters in this game, as they where in Heat aswell, are cringe at best. Feels like the people that have written the lines are from outer space and does hardly even know what a human being is, let alone have they ever met one. The driving feel is horrible. Same disaster as heat with brake to drift, it just feels so bad. Feels like it's peogrammed by people that never have deiven a real car. Just as in heat, you can be at 300kph/186mph+ turn and yank the e-brake and stop in 10 meters.
    I dont like the anime stuff either. This game is more arcade than ever, and I would only recommend this game to people below 14 years of age. I'm truly disappointed, and while this game deserves a 4, I'll give it a 1, just because the 7.3.it has in total now is waaaay to high.    … Expand

    For a hefty price tag they put on, im quite disappointed with this game. I dont really enjoy the visual, the handling was poor, events were repetitive, it wasnt pleasant.

    Wer gedacht hat, es würde besser, nur weil Criterion dieses Mal wieder ran darf, der sei daran erinnert, daß Criterion es waren, die seinerzeit auf der PS3 und Burnout Paradise mit diesem Open World Unsinn bei Rennspielen angefangen haben. Ich spiele seit dem ersten Need for Speed in den 90ern fast jedes Spiel dieser Serie… und werde seit    Um es vorweg zu nehmen: es wieder schlecht.

    Ich spiele seit dem ersten Need for Speed in den 90ern fast jedes Spiel dieser Serie… und werde seit Underground nur noch enttäuscht.

    Und dieses Mal toppt es wirklich alles. Im negativen Sinne.
    Und damit meine ich nicht einmal diese komischen gekritzten Effekte, die finde ich zT sogar ganz gut.
    Nein, das Spiel ist eine unausgegorende Mischung aus Underground, Heat und Burnout Paradise.
    Wie sagt man in einem Restaurant immer: lieber eine kleine Karte mit richtig guten Gerichten, als ein Buch mit Dreck. Das hier ist ein Buch.

    Die Grafik geht ok, allerdings gibt es überall Grafikfehler, wie komische schwebende Schatten, die Pfützen sein sollen.
    Der Sound ist gut, aber… man wird IMMER zu beinahe JEDER SEKUNDE des Spiels mit irgendwelchem blöden Gesabbel genervt. Die (schon wieder) pseudocoole Kiddiegang ist die ganze Zeit nur am Labern… das geht mir so dermaßen auf den Sack!!

    Und dann ist es dieselbe blöde Story, wie immer. Wozu brauche ich in so einem Spiel eine Story??!! Und erstrecht keine so platte, dumme, nichtssagende, kopierte.

    Ich soll dann also zu einem Event.
    Während ich dahin fahre, werde ich permanent zugelabert und mit neuen Ereignissen belästigt, die ich dann vorziehen muß. Gehe ich dann in die Garage, um die Kohle abzuliefern, sind die Events nicht mehr verfügbar, weil ein nächster Tag angebrochen ist.
    Ich soll in 7 Gagen meine Karre pimpen, soll aber immer wieder in die Garage, um Geld abzuliefern, und dann ist der Tag futsch.

    Nachts sind die Bullen aktiver als tagsüber. Wieso?
    Die Cops im Rennen sind ein Witz.
    Die Steuerung ist schlecht.
    Die Musik ist eine Katastrophe.
    Keine Schnellreise zu den Rennen.
    Ewige Wege zu den Events.
    Die immer gleiche Katastrophe.

    Hier hat man es nicht mit einem ernst gemeinten Arcaderennspiel zu tun, sondern schon wieder mit einem Bling-Bling-HipHop-Epilepsie-Kinderspiel.

    It should be clear that Need for Speed Unbound is a strong rebound for the Need for Speed series. Hopefully the series will build on Unbound.

    Coming back from various Sim racing titles to NfS feels a bit like a step in the wrong direction. But I wanted to have an easy game again where I can quickly grap the controller and enjoy some nice cars with good graphics and an easy story to follow. No need to setup the sim rig and to concentrate on the race. So NfS was an option and after the reviews I bought it. I think my last NfS wasComing back from various Sim racing titles to NfS feels a bit like a step in the wrong direction. No need to setup the sim rig and to concentrate on the race. So NfS was an option and after the reviews I bought it. I think my last NfS was Most Wanted and sure the old NfS Underground. I like Unbound! I like the new look! I like the idea how the story is build. Some races are really repetitive but that is ok, later you get more tracks to race on. I needed to rethink my driving as I was trying to stay clean and do not hurt my car :D but here we are allowed to crash around how we want. So I start to build my Fast and Furious car park, taking the Eclipse, Evo and Skyline in NfS design and relive somehow the movies ;) besides good graphic we have annoying cops, they appear way too often and the sound is weak, I want to hear engine sounds!!!! The community design option is pretty dope like in GT7, as I do not want to spend too much time on it, the community does great work on desgins. All in all it is a good game, a fun racer with stunning graphics of the cars. Driving feels easy and direct, race modes are cool. All I expected from a NfS game. Cool to have one again.… Expand

    Bad physics, cringe voice lines, trash story, ai is near impossible to beat in some races even with difficulty set to lowest settings, same cars as previous game. They just took what would have been the ps5 version of heat and called it unbound.

    The game is **** dog **** like literally the worst they have put out in years! Besides the visuals of the cars, this games sucks ass in every aspect:
    - driving
    - world aesthetics and richness - dialogues (omfg please just shut the **** up for one second)
    - character optics
    - enemy ai
    - cop ai
    - "funky" visual extra that u are UNABLE TO TURN OFF

    What a **** disappointment of a game..

    I am guessing the devs have no idea about used and rebuilt auto parts, since you can't sell them once you have bought them. When you work at a garage.

    The soundtrack is beyond sub par compared to NFS Heat. I have had racers phase through oncoming traffick, while said oncoming traffick hits my car (story mode) and today I had teleporting racers both out of the race entirely and into the water (on drivers side of vehicle) at 5th place only to appear a minute later coming off a cliff and back into the race (from the passengers side) in 3rd place in an endurance run. Where they appeared from was entire off the course.

    It's pretty but the inability to sell parts when storyline insists on multiple cars and the lowballing on selling cars, how
    random drifting and sliding works, the sub par music and the glitches rather kills the game.    … Expand

    But can a game on an easy difficulty level be easy? I just want to beat the game and not sweat over the race for which I pay a ridiculous amount ? if I wanted difficulty I would choose another mode or another game , one race and then bark and so on in a circle thanks bravo vernier money

    Love the story driven progress system. The aesthetic and the music of the game mixes so well like Most Wanted did. Game plays really well too, cars don’t feel like they’re floating and the AI is challenging. First NFS in a long time i’m enjoying so much. Hope they keep up the quality content for this generation consoles

    First time in years, this NFS game is great! I am so glad that it came out better than it looked in trailers. Gameplay is fun, effects brings something new and as a rap fan, I also really like soundtrack. At least give it a chance.

    - Racing can also get very frustrating, I get that not getting first place everytime is fine, but I want to win, not lose half the time and not have enough retries for it, it's just not fun
    - The soundtrack list will for sure not suit everyone's taste, just as it didn't for me
    - The female voices are hard to distinguish, during the story I had an hard time to know if it was my character speaking or another one

    It's an abomination. With EA's half-hearted 2022 you might wonder how the company maintains a cashflow of any kind and that would be perfectly understandable because this is the worst NFS I've ever played. I could explain why, but I have a feeling you are going to just shake your head yes and save your money on this lazy effort.

    Unbalanced opponent difficulty and despite the developers coming out and saying that the graffiti effects could be turned off, that is NOT the case. You can turn SOME of the effects off and only on your car. The opponents cars have all the effects still on. Got a refund on this one. Garbage.

    This series has gone backwards over the last decade, i have not enjoyed a need for speed since Most Wanted (2012). As for Unbound it starts you off with a decent car you then end up doing events and earning cash for over an hour only for the cringe story to take away your car and money just for an introduction of a tutorial. It's the most stupid way to introduce you to a racing game. AfterThis series has gone backwards over the last decade, i have not enjoyed a need for speed since Most Wanted (2012). As for Unbound it starts you off with a decent car you then end up doing events and earning cash for over an hour only for the cringe story to take away your car and money just for an introduction of a tutorial. It's the most stupid way to introduce you to a racing game. After that you proceed to play the same repetitive events over and over again while earning next to no cash. The progression system in this gane is a joke with the repeated events making the game really stale quickly. Another annoying aspect of this game is the cops, after races you will get heated levels and they patrol nearly every road stopping your fluidity to continue with multiple events at once, it really does become frustrating after a while. The online part of the game is even more disappointing, you are put in a session with 15 other players where most of the time they will not join your races. You end up joining a randoms race with a few others and that's about it. £70 for an average racing game in 2022 it's unacceptable to be charging this much for this sinking ship of a franchise, the name is the only thing that's giving it sales, i do not reccommend.… Expand

    Tried the trial. Its just heat with few extra touches here and there. Definitely not worth the price tag. (Yes sale discount or some sort exist but still, its not worth the price)

    Definitely not worth it especially at that high price, its a heat copy with a few minimalistic changes, cops are meh, pursuits not enganging, best was MW 05, Rivals and Hot pursuit. Customization is wacky goofy and cringe story and dialogue with political direction IN A RACING GAME

    Ignore the 0 score reviews that are obviously design to just drag the score down. This is easily the best NFS in years. Even if the design isn’t totally your thing, calling it the “worst NFS ever created” is just hilarious trolling.

    This game is a blast! The only negative I have found is that EA has apparently forgot to do any marketing for the game. None of my friends had even heard of it until I told them about it. The art style is refreshing and very unique. The car customization and the grind to work your way up to the top is addictive.     It does not have interior customization which i was hoping for. also i would like more of an updated wheel list and more new body kit parts. and more tuner/muscle cars there's majority super cars like the car list needs to be updated alot!

    Le jeu est sublime sur PS5 (4K/60FPS stables). L’ambiance et la DA sont originales et colle parfaitement. La dynamique des voitures au poil et la customisation excellente.

    This game could be much better if they didn't add some mechanics that ruin the whole fun. Driving in the game is the best part, I really enjoying racing and upgrading my cars, getting new ones, the graphics look quite good and even the new cartoony style additions are nicer than I expected before buying.

    But unfortunately there are some mechanics in the game that are ruining the whole experience for me. Starting by the fact that you need to go to your garage to do practically anything other than drive, like changing your selected car, tuning it, or even change its color. Primarily that doesn't sound like a bad idea but the problem is that the new game has week system and every single time you enter the garage you change from day to night or from night to the next day, so you cannot visit your garage without forcing your way into the next big race, which happens always on saturday.

    What seems like a minor issue becomes a bigger one because the more you advance through the game the more expensive the participation fee becomes for the big race on saturday, so that means you need to collect more and more money every day so you can upgrade your car with more expensive items and also to participate on the next race.

    And here is where the worst part of this game mechanic comes. In the game there are so many police cars you can barely drive for more than 3 seconds without finding at least one police car in your radar, and there are often more than one, and if your wanted by the police, which usually is always turned on on the night time you cannot drive freely anywhere for more than 3 seconds because you need to hide or try to drive so fast that they don't see you. This is really very limitating because it's a game about racing and you cannot drive freely for more than half of the time.

    And if that wasn't enough, the more oney you carry on you the more aggressive the police cars get so they are more likely to take your money away, and that together with the weekly mechanics and the increasing amount of money needed every time ends up forcing you to replay the same races over and over again, specially if you happen to fail the race at saturday since you're forced to go back to the prior friday and you're forced to make the whole amount of money needed for that race, which usually you can collect during a whole week, in one single day, meaning you will need to carry a lot of money on you and get the police trying to steal your money again and if they succeed, well, guess what, you can repeat the friday all over again because there is barely any freedom in this game.

    I find it weird that people are complaining more about the story or the graphics when the real problem is that the game isn't fun to play due to this lack of freedom and big amount of repetitiveness, which in my opinion is a lot worse because that's actually the core of the game.

    It's sad because otherwise I really was enjoying it but I've had that situation described above already a couple of times and it's no fun to play the same missions all over again. I'm really near to giving up the game even when I already got into class S, which is number two in the highest rank, but I don't enjoy being forced to repeat the same thing over and over again.    … Expand

    Need for Speed Unbound it has finally added the opportunity to use the grip driving that we requested so much more than 10 years ago (Via vehicle settings in game menu). This game aspires to be the best NFS of the decade.

    Let me say that this game is honestly a 8 at best. It has some issues but the pros outweighs the cons here and some user reviews that ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME give really good pros and cons.     This is the best arcade racing game since Midnight club LA. Physics are amazing its perfect mixture of MCLA and Burnout Paradise and a tiny bit of hot pursuit remastrer. Visuals look great even cartoon stuff looks good. It's a the best nfs since idk even know probably hot pursuite.
    btw I'm OG gamer and i played every single nfs game.

    Forget everything else. Asap this, asap that, asap everywhere. Like, why? I listened to like 5 of the soundtracks and all of them are forgettable. Yes i can turn them off but remember, the soundtrack is one of the critical part of the game, and certainly it doesnt deliver whatsoever.

    There is no major change in the game after NFS 2015. Copy-paste the game is 75% similar and the difference is 25%. The driving has not changed, the cars have not changed, the same police cars and police sounds. Create a new part or make a remake of the old parts.

    I would not buy it for now, also the Online Modus is very "rare" and not many Playlists with all the same Racetracks. But the Music is really the worst, then the stupid Fortnite Graphic Look which i even can not deactivate.

    If you've played the past 3 NfS there is not much new to you apart from a new story to play through. They kept most of the core elements of heat or just slightly tweaked those. The graphics are improved, there are some new customizing options, a new takeover game mode and a new nitrous system. Tap nitrous is a good addition to make racing feel a bit more engaging and makes it a little bitIf you've played the past 3 NfS there is not much new to you apart from a new story to play through. They kept most of the core elements of heat or just slightly tweaked those. The graphics are improved, there are some new customizing options, a new takeover game mode and a new nitrous system. Tap nitrous is a good addition to make racing feel a bit more engaging and makes it a little bit more tactical in multiplayer.
    Speaking of which, the multiplayer is separate to the solo mode. Cars you buy and customize in solo are not available online and vice-versa. Some cars that are free to buy in solo, do have challenges you need to grind to unlock for multiplayer. For example driving 30 playlists (!) in a certain car to be able to purchase the other car. This just feels like they had to stretch the content as much as possible. Another negative point for multiplayer is the complete absence of cops. You are limited to freeroam and racing in playlists. In solo the cops don't feel like a challenge, they are just annoying at times.

    -- car list essentially the same as heat with added duplicates of certain cars in different specs
    -- multiplayer and single player use separate garages
    -- multiplayer has no cops whatsoever

    Would I pay 70€ for it? Deifnitely not. It rather feels like NfS 2015 V4 or just a new NfS Heat DLC. I'd recommend waiting for it to get deposited in the EA Play membership. It might also have gotten some new content until then.    … Expand

    Love the game and really appreciate what Criterion has put together. I was skeptical coming from a great comeback game in NFS Heat, which was developed by Ghost Games, and seeing that Criterion would be developing Unbound. I have been happily surprised at how well the game has been put together and the improvements this game has made coming from Heat. Le choix graphique, l'ambiance et le gameplay sont super, je met 10/10 sur cette partie, pas contre pour le reste c'est proche de 0 par rapport à NFS Heat, en therme d'ergonomie dans les menus, la progression campagne / multi qui sont totalement différente et les voitures bloqués à l'achat par des défis infaisable car le multi est mal géré.. Par exemple pour débloquer à l'achat la Nissan S15 il faut gagner 20 course en classe B avec une Nissan sauf que vu que il n'y a personne en multi (et c'est uniquement joueurs contre joueurs, aucun bot !) il y a 5-6 personnes dans l'open world quand on ouvre la carte mais la plus part jouent en S/S+ donc impossible de trouver quelqu'un pour faire une course en classe B pour les défis, et les seules fois où j'ai pu c'était avec un ami donc on était 2 dans la course, le défi est juste infaisable non pas parce que c'est impossible de gagner mais juste de trouver du monde pour faire course.… Expand

The graphics are next-gen, the driving is excellent, the soundtrack is amazing and the story is very engaging. The cop chases are truly engaging (expected from a Criterion game). The best NFS game in 10 years!

    EA got so lazy. Just like Dirt 5 and Grid Legends almost feel like the same game, Unbound is like an S version of its predecessor. Same game, "Different" improved graphics. Boring, not original, not worth the money. Been playing this franchise since the 1st game was out, I'm 41 years old and can safely say that for me, this is the least favorite one i have every played .

Das neue Boostsystem ist sowohl gut als auch schlecht. Beim Driftig eher störend als helfend während es in Rennen sie gerade zu Kinderleicht macht. Den dein Wagen wird immer durch einen starken BoostDieses Spiel reiht sich für mich ein in die letzten Jahre, wo wieder und wieder enttäuscht wird. Handling nicht besonders gut. Wagen machen was sie wollen wann sie es wollen oder auch nicht. Das neue Boostsystem ist sowohl gut als auch schlecht. Beim Driftig eher störend als helfend während es in Rennen sie gerade zu Kinderleicht macht. Den dein Wagen wird immer durch einen starken Boost gerade gezogen und leicht oder stark nach vorne unkontrollierbar geboostet. So brauchst du nicht mehr gucken wie nehme ich die Kurve am besten sondern einfach bisschen quer gehen in den führenden knallen oder einfach so den Boost benutzen der sich meistens durch leichtes driften 1 von 3 Balken geladen hat und zack bist du erster weil die Ki sowas natürlich nicht macht.Wer Cops aus den letzten Teilen liebte(jetzt sehr schwer bis gar nicht mehr zerstörbar ) wird sie hier auch lieben hat sich quasi nichts dran getan nur das jetzt bei jedem Rennen deine Fahndungsstufe erhöht. Dadurch du quasi immer Stufe 5 bist wenn du mal mehr Geld haben willst oder aber einfach Rennenfahren. Die Gegner sind meistens nicht sonderlich stark bei Rennen egal welcher Schwierigkeitagrad.
    Für Grafik geb ich 1 Punkte und fürs okaye Driften 1. Dafür das sie nun dieses Tag/Nacht Rhythmus geändert haben u d nun nicht mehr Nachts Street Credit oder wie das hieß sammel musst und dieses doppelte farmen wegfält auch 1 Punkt. Und den 4ten und letzten Punkt gibt es für zu gewinne Wagen bei Rennen wo man nur ein bruchteil für die Wagen zahlen muss und sie meistens sogar mit doppeltem gewinn verkaufen kannst als das rennen dir abzieht und das du in manchen mission Late Game Wagen schon einmal fahren kannst.
    Story is halt ok interessiert am Ende eh keinen.

    Alles im allem haben sie also Heat mit besserer Grafik ein paar bug fixes und Verschönerungen/ Verbesserungen. Dafür mit neuen Fehlern und Sachen die einem das Spiel zur Hölle machen wo vorallem das schlechte Handling und Cops zubuche stehen.    … Expand

    Unfair and too hard because of poor vehicle handling and a cheated IA. Extremely slow progression, forgettable music and scenario. In one word, frustrating. But I love the style with those manga touches. Performance wise, it is terrible. Run poorly on a ryzen 5600x, an RTX 3070 and 32go of RAM tridentz neo 3600.l with drops to 30fps without DLSS and to the upper 40 with DLSS quality.

The combination of beautiful, realistic-looking graphics and effects borrowed straight from an anime works surprisingly well, the story doesn’t get in your way and the driving model hits exactly the right spot. Even the open world is fun! This is how you make an arcade racing game.

    Need for Speed Unbound is the best modern NFS to date. It is still riddled with issues like rubberbanding and weird drifting physics, but it still provides its players with the best handling system in years, with grip racing finally back. With the best visual design NFS has ever had and some interesting campaign decisions, it gives hope that the series is back on track to becoming something great.
