MLB The Show 22 is enjoyable and its gameplay divinely effective and delicious. The additions to this 2022 version reinforce the simulation aspect, without being too complicated for newbies. MLB The Show not only makes us play baseball on our console, but also makes the sport live, putting us in an incredible way in the world of pitching, running and home runs.

As far as gameplay goes, The Show 22 is the best sports game on the market. I used to love the NBA 2K series but I can’t play that series anymore. I guess I’m an old man and they’ve done turned NBA 2K into something for the youngins. This game though, the hitting, pitching, and fielding are all fantastic. This game though, the hitting, pitching, and fielding are all fantastic. I’m old school so I’ve just been sticking to franchise mode, one game at a time, and really enjoying it. There’s some minor bugs like occasional inaccurate commentary and I’ve also had the news ticker at the bottom of the screen get stuck on the same piece of news and just repeat itself over and over. I feel like those could be easy fixes though. As long as the gameplays remains as is, I plan on playing this game a lot. Expand

Best game since 2016. Don't listen to these morons with the negative reviews. I've been a critic of the game for a long time. The game runs much smoother this year. The change in the commentary booth is a breath of fresh air. Futhermore, the presentation is much improved. I'm more of a franchise guy, but I can't wait to give Road to The Show another go.

Very good if you have Xbox Gamepass, it's free and get it day one of release, but £60 if you only have a PlayStation!!!!!

While the game still feels very similar to 21, I appreciate some of the things that were added. I've always enjoyed the franchise mode and it definitely received some much needed quality of life upgrades this time around. Also new commentary for the first time in a long time. A great entry into the series.

    Good-
There is some good changes to the AI in terms of Trades. Smart tweaks to the gameplay give you the ability to tune it to your liking. Online co-op is pretty promising and has potential
Bad- Graphics still are not that impressive. Sound effects are average. The RTTS still feels hollow and thin Thoughts- MLB The Show 22 is arguably the most notable leap the series has taken in

    Thoughts-
MLB The Show 22 is arguably the most notable leap the series has taken in recent memory. Perhaps a result of the influx of new blood from going multiplatform last year, it seems like Sony San Diego is really trying to make the most out of this era of the franchise’s history where more eyes are on them than ever before. Outside of a few small gripes I do have with the somewhat clunky career mode, a mediocre soundtrack, and awkward character expressions that can subtract from the fantasy at times, this is yet another damn fine baseball game from Sony San Diego that isn’t quite a home run, but still manages to fly deep enough into left field to put some more points on the board.

Runs very smooth on the ps 5 system. Graphics for the most part are beautiful with some no named players looking generic though. Only one visual glitch that I keep seeing is after hitting a homerun, my player merges into my teammate thats congratulating me. PvP seems to be smooth enough at pre launch. It always gets smoother so not worried about that much. Some of the cut scenes are aRuns very smooth on the ps 5 system. Great game so far and I'm happy with my purchase. The crack of the bat through my headset is so damn realistic!! Expand

MLB The Show 22 is still a great game of ball, but one that is stating to slow down as it ages. San Diego Studio has been able to innovate in the past, and I hope they get around to addressing some of the weaknesses next time around. Whether that's through going full current-gen or delivering a fresh approach to Road to the Show, there is room for improvement.

MLB The Show 22 is still among the highest forms of video game baseball available … right along with the game that came before it. It still plays exquisitely, and it's still definitely worth your time if you've never really experienced the series before. For veterans, however, this could be the moment where the game just feels … sort of "there," and the only big difference you'll notice is that this year's cover guy probably should have been last year's cover guy.

There’s something to be said about not messing with something that’s working just fine. The Show 22 is a familiar product for better and for worse. The ball game is as solid as ever, but the video game entry fails to offer something truly new for PlayStation owners who bought last year’s installment, while its most noticeable change doesn’t really help matters.
