With an interesting progress system and competent FPS-style platforming gameplay, Meet Your Maker is one to keep an eye on going forward.

Meet Your Maker is a refreshing blend of ideas that takes shape in the form of a brutal, devious, and compelling puzzle platformer/shooter with a community-led approach. Time will tell how well that plays out, but it's a hugely promising start.

Fulfilling, fun and brutal as only certain video games can be, Meet Your Maker is a marriage of wickedness and fantasy. Great FPS stages and good building stages. Must have absolutely.

Meet Your Maker is a first-person outpost raider where you get to make your own levels and unleash them on whatever sorry bastards try to take them on. It's a great concept and the execution is pretty solid at launch. It'll only be improved by the promised future content too.

Meet Your Maker is a highly addictive first-person shooter/base-building hybrid. Its satisfying gameplay loop is cemented by various progression systems, filling that itch of watching bars and numbers go up at a consistent rate. The tools and systems are in place to allow for creative death traps filled with tons of hair-raising moments and satisfying encounters, further enhanced when playing with a friend. In fact, the community has already made expert use of existing content. Unfortunately, creativity can only take that content so far. Before long, deja vu will become this game’s crutch. Meet Your Maker needs significantly more content across the board to become a sustainable community experience.

Meet your Maker is a solid new adventure for Behaviour Interactive, boasting a strong community-driven set of systems and mechanics that encourage creativity and ruthlessness in their design. The lack of available options, a poor progression system and grid-locked currencies dull the excitement of raiding somewhat, but the core structure of this outpost should allow it to harvest for some time yet.

Meet Your Maker is a killer concept, but it feels empty despite building up a miserable world I so desperately want to know more about. For as boundless as the content may be, shallow progression makes it all feel disposable and vapid. It might be great in a year’s time, but right now it’s little more than a cool idea.

It isMeet Your Maker is an innovative and creative game that captures the essence of Fallout 4's construction and defense of your outpost. It is addictive and engaging, with a simple yet complex gameplay that allows for human creativity and intelligence in the creation of outposts. As a player, I have enjoyed the game immensely and have spent over 89 hours playing it.

Meet Your Maker is a game that has a lot of potential, and I believe that future updates could improve certain aspects such as the behavior and intelligence of traps, their activation range, the functionality of blocks and weapons. However, despite these minor improvements, the game executes its premise extremely well and is a must-play for anyone looking for an immersive and engaging gaming experience.

Meet Your Maker reminds me of other successful games like No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk, and I can confidently say that it has a bright future ahead of it. The game is not too difficult, but it is not too easy either, and the gameplay ultimately depends on your playstyle.

Overall, I give Meet Your Maker a perfect score of 10/10. It is a game that executes its premise flawlessly, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new and exciting gaming experience

The game on paper is Doom crossed with Mario maker. What makes it brilliant is the formula the developers have created to encourage players to make good levels EFFORTLESSLY creating a constantly evolving eco system of fun and challenging levels. This game is so innovative in all the best ways and the game never ends. Tight controls, fast paced and has co-op. This is a must play masterpiece. No notes. Expand

Great concept, but with a truckload of flaws.

Apart from the painfully slow loading times, the bugs with replays (freezing, crashing), the server issues (can’t log in, stuck at 95% loading) - the game design itself is deeply flawed.

Meet Your Maker only rewards maps that cause maximum player death. This has lead to cookie cutter level design by users that are 90% killing floors. Users don’t have to ensure their maps are not impossible to complete, or (mostly) unique, so they are actually incentivised to create boring, repetitive, close to impossible levels. The most popular comment thread in a Reddit AMA with the developers spoke to this exact flaw, and there wasn’t one response from the developers around it. There are other issues around lack of diversity in traps and design capabilities that also lead to boring repetitive levels, an OP grapple, the fact that you can basically run through any level that isn’t a “killing floor”, but they pale in comparison to the “killing floor” issue, so not even worth going into detail.

I love the concept, and was obsessed with it for the first day or two, but after a week of playing I’m done. Without a big fix to core level design incentives this game has no player longevity.

There is a reason this came out new on PS plus. It's the worst game I've tried in a long time.
