Marvel Rivals is a stellar multiplayer game that has plenty of potential in the years ahead. It sounds like it has a great content plan, as the game just added the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic into the game a month into the game's launch. When you keep that in mind alongside the stellar gameplay and team-based mechanics, Marvel Rivals is likely to stay for many years ahead.

With a huge roster of free playable characters , a satisfying gameplay loop, and the fast matchmaking, Marvel Rivals executes a simple concept with skill and finesse.

Marvel Rivals has come out of the gate swinging, delivering a fresh blast of adrenaline to the hero shooter genre.

There are definitely things to improve on but many of the things are small things that never get in the way of the overall experience which can only be described as really good. This could definitely be a game that will entertain us for many years to come and that we strongly believe will be built on properly and make it even more rich in content (which it already is).

Marvel Rivals is a refreshing breeze in a genre that had lately sunk into the mud. Featuring beloved superheroes in a frenetic shooter, it’s a dream come true for many fans. The gameplay flows smoothly, and it’s engaging enough that even unbalanced characters or a smaller number of maps and modifications don’t hold it back. While there’s room for improvement, if you’re a fan of the hero shooter genre, there’s currently nothing better on the market.

With 33 Heroes to play as, best-in-class presentation bookending matches, and a free-to-play monetization model, Marvel Rivals is almost too good to be true. There’s balancing issues, and some core problems with the way objectives play out, sure, but given that Marvel Rivals has only just launched, the future is very bright indeed. For now, you’ll be able to jump in and have a blast, whether you’re looking for a competitive challenge or casual fun.

Classic but fun as hell : a perfect way to describe Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals is a damn fun and immediate hero shooter, which also boasts a management of microtransactions that makes it perfectly playable without spending a cent. If the developers are able to manage the wave of success well and constantly release new content, it could be an experience capable of remaining on the crest of the wave for quite some time.

Marvel Rivals understands that "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it". While it borrows a lot of ideas from its competitors, it stands out thanks to its excellent roster of characters and some innovative systems, like team abilities. Most importantly, it’s incredibly fun and has great potential to expand with new heroes, game modes and more. Watch out, Overwatch... you have a new rival.

Marvel Rivals manages to feel both familiar and like a breath of fresh air. The cast of characters is exciting across the board, and once the game adds more maps and hopefully better matchmaking, I think NetEase could be on to a winner.

A hero shooter's first week is vital to a live service game's success, and Marvel Rivals has made a strong impression for many good reasons. While the game's story lacks the presentation the brand is worthy of, its diverse gameplay with beloved characters and new mechanics have set a high bar for the hero shooter genre. No matter what type of character players enjoy using in multiplayer shooters, Marvel Rivals has a hero or villain for everyone, and with time, it can get better.

Marvel Rivals boasts immense potential with its 33 unique characters, though balancing issues and a high learning curve hinder accessibility for newcomers. While it draws heavily from games like Overwatch 2, it lacks the distinctiveness one might expect from a Marvel title. If given time and support, it could grow into something truly special, but for now, its vast roster feels both a strength and a challenge.

Neither the MCU nor the hero shooter genre are at the glorious heights experienced by both in the past decade, but that isn’t stopping Marvel Rivals from doing everything it can to be a success story today. Approachable, yet with a high skill ceiling to reach for, it's consistently a great time no matter which fan-favourite comic book character and accompanying skillset is at your fingertips. It may be following closely in the slipstream of the hero shooters that have come before it, but by doing so Rivals has firmly placed itself in a strong position to take the crown for itself.

For now, Marvel Rivals is a fine foray into the realm of hero shooters. It's tough to imagine making a splash in such saturated waters, but NetEase has managed to do it with its diverse hero roster, its monetization model, and its usage of destructible worlds. This will be a fun game to watch develop over time, and I'm excited to see where it is at this time next year, but for what it is now, this is a stellar debut.

Marvel Rivals is one of the more fun team-based online multiplayer games that you can play right now and with its simple gameplay and mostly straightforward unlocks, it really is a breath of fresh air. Plus, Squirrel Girl's tail is so bushy that it makes me one happy bear.

Marvel Rivals is an Overwatch copycat, but it manages to do its job well and manages to have enough of its own identity to deserve a chance. However, it still has a lot of room for improvement and lacks a little more originality in some of its proposals.

Marvel Rivals isn't just another clone of Overwatch or Team Fortress 2. Sure, it's still a classic hero shooter, but one with some fresh ideas in terms of level and character design. There's a future ahead of this game.

Marvel Rivals is a good time. Its large cast of characters has something for almost everyone, and they play quite differently outside of a few redundancies. Despite this, gameplay is fundamentally standardized, and things become routine once you’ve found your main picks. It’s not a game I can see myself sticking with for a very long time, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a go - indeed, for a way to spend a few hours at a time, it’s a fine enough choice.

Marvel Rivals is a successful free-to-play action game that gets the most out of the strong license. If the live service is right, it could become a new force in the hero shooter genre alongside Overwatch and others.

A live service game with the superpower of longevity, assuming it can maintain the balance between being a casual and competitive online shooter.

Right now, Marvel Rivals has the potential to learn from its inspiration’s mistakes, rather than repeat them. For now, it’s an extremely fun One of Those. Let’s keep it that way, yeah?
