    Same copy and paste game. Full of bugs and glitches. Game is broken madden has basically been the same game since madden 13. Do not recommend this game. NFL needs to let other companies make simulation football tired of EA trash

    I have been playing Madden since Madden 92. It is extremely disappointing to see the state that this game is in now. you expect anything to get better with time, but not Madden. I have had every copy of Madden since Madden 92. My recent purchases of Madden was simply because it's the only "simulation" football game available. It got to the point that I couldn't take it anymore, so II have been playing Madden since Madden 92. It got to the point that I couldn't take it anymore, so I refused to buy Madden 21 and I wont be buying Madden 22. This game has turned into pure unadulterated garbage. I play Franchise mode, I'm in online franchise leagues with my friends for pure bragging rights. This game is so broken, it's not fun anymore. they take old features from older Madden and put it in the game like it's a new feature. They are stealing the NHL and NCAA features and putting it in Madden. This is so sad, the glitches have become the norm and they claim that an update is coming in September for the new scouting in franchise mode. Given EA's track record, I don't trust them. I wish the NFL would do something about this, Let 2K get back in the football business.… Expand

First year I have ever played a game and won 42-20 and then when I get back to the main screen it shows that I lost 20-0. Why even play? Madden, which has essentially been a repackaged roster update since 2016, is actually different this year. It’s not the same game, it’sThis game is a waste of money. Franchise Mode is a joke.     I am a die hard life long football fan, a mechanical engineer (ill get to this in a moment about why that matters), and a sports video game junky. Madden has always been that game that I always impatiently anticipated every next installment. I've played them all, I've seen the decline over the last 12 years, and I've heard the false promises, year over year. This Madden may not be the worst Madden in the last 12 years but it is certainly the most disappointing. Mostly to the fact that every other sports game is becoming more and more intelligent with new technology, while madden is still standing still.

    As an engineer, the laws of physics are in the background of everything i do. In my profession, if i disregard the fundamentals of movement, mass, inertia, etc. I will no longer be a professional, but for some reason Madden is still making video games. By all accounts, nothing in this game follows a single one of Newton's laws. Safeties and corners should not be able to break back on a ball to the post route, while in a dead sprint down field covering a streaking wide out. A 250lbs MLB busting through the A gap, should never be obnoxiously over powered by a 205lbs running back, 2 steps into their handoff. Double teams on the line should not be thwarted by a single out massed, over powered, out leveraged DE. Tackles make zero sense. Speed ,Change of direction, acceleration, ratings mean nothing. And Lastly, and in my opinion most importantly - people should not move faster than the ball, ever. Cb's LB's, and Safeties are consistently deify the laws of Physics by cutting off passing angles from impossible positions, simply because the ball flights are incredibly faulty and the db's some how can teleport into the path of the ball.

    This Madden is easily the worst representation of a sport that is filled with our most fundamental concepts of motion and physics. 2k did a better job of this in 2007 with a tenth of the resources.

    It could be a beautiful representation of Americas Sport, but maddens capital driven corporate political greed, and uneducated and underqualified leaders have unfathomably ruined that opportunity for themselves and for all of us to enjoy.    … Expand

    I know sports games with yearly releases are hard to innovate in but Madden's NFL is just a complete copy paste of the previous one while continuously milking the fanbase for extra money. This would better be served if it wasn't a yearly release but rather a live service game (i.e. Destiny 2, Fortnite, Apex Legends, etc.).     COME ON EA- WHY CAN'T YOU JUST TAKE MADDEN 07 FOR PS2, UPDATE THE ROSTERS, AND UPGRADE THE STADIUM AND PLAYER GRAPHICS TO CURRENT LEVELS AND THEN JUST LEAVE THE REST OF THE GAME ALONE. THEN ALL YOU NEED TO DO EACH YEAR IS A ROSTER UPDATE AND EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPY!!!!!

It has become just sooo blatantly obvious that EA only cares about MUT and the twelve year olds with their parents credit cards spending money on virtual cards that in the real world are worthless.     Ok going past MUT killing Madden let's look at the gameplay.
    Zone Defence what zone defence it is a joke the AI is unbelievably stupid which is annoying because EA advertised the advancement of the WR/DB mechanics. There are none and I thought it was impossible that EA could produce a worst game than Madden 21 but they have. Madden 21 gameplay as subpar as it was is better than Madden 22.
    Franchise. Releasing the game without the new scout update was just dumb. Seriously you can't say you ran out of time. You had five years of releasing the exact same game with the exact same cutscenes and using the exact same assets (even failing to update those assets).
    But instead they give us three different modes that are crap and poorly put together with The Yard (another micro transaction), Superstar KO and Face of the Franchise a poorly written, poorly acted, poorly planned mess where you could play absolutely crap in the prologue and still go Number 2 overall. So challenging so rewarding.
    Back to Franchise. An example of that this is still just a copy paste is that when you exit a game there is a second of the old "Coach Hub" seriously WTF. Coaching progression when first advertised got us excited but that was conquered literally in two seasons. Yay challenging.
    I was looking forward to the Scouting Update but with the lack of effort that EA has put into these "New Features" I doubt that there will be any real challenge.
    If EA is going to continue to produce a game that really only puts assets into their pay to win micro transactions MUT then just make the game free.
    I really hope that the agreement with EA and the NCAA doesn't have micro transactions in NCAA Football 23. We may actually get a playable football video game.    … Expand

They really don't care about making a good game and then rub it in your face. They should be sued for releasing an unfinished game. So many bugs.     This is essentially the same game from 4 years ago with roster updates. Mechanically speaking, you have the same celebrations, same animations, same garbage material that they have been giving us for years. They add in features that were present A DECADE AGO and claim that they are "new" features. 0/10.

The running backs ALWAYS falls forward no matter height or weight againt DT's. Defensive backs have better hands than wide receivers. Zones do what they want to do. As a QB I did everything right and my reward???? I get drafted first overall by the Jags along with Trevor Lawrence who is somehow also a 1st overall pick. Awful logic. Face of the franchise is a broken, unfinished, lazy, slap in the face game mode inside an $80 game. It is absolutely bogus. The defense is legendarily awful. The blocking is just as bad, if not, worse than Madden 21. Tackling is BROKEN. The hub in franchise mode is so confusing you genuinely do not know where everything is placed. Face of the Franchise is yet again still awful. If you don’t care about simulation football, please open the license up and give others a chance. We’re begging for a good game. We’re begging for a playable football game since M12. This game and company is a disgrace to NFL football. To football in general. Please, NFL, Roger Goodell, NFLPA, please reconsider this deal with EA until 2026. How does a game made on this kind of tech with the PS5 can't even get the most basic things right like who won the game? I won games in franchise mode and it says I lost them after. How the hell does that get past testing?

    I was a lot less critical of last year's game because I actually saw a difference in the gameplay from generations going PS4 to 5 but holy sh*t they did nothing with this game gameplay wise. The zones are broken, they can't even implement cover three and have it work right when games made over a decade ago (all pro football 2K8) did it perfectly and didn't need to patch essential things into the game after launch. APF2k8 STILL does heaps better than this game. Such as pass blocking and pocket forming. throwing motions, physics and tackling.

    I've seen lineman run over defenders and then the defenders warp back upright and make a tackle on a guy running full-steam past him..where's the physics there?

    The replays are a slight improvement over the worst replays i've seen in a sports game and yet they're still horrible often cutting out the most important part of a play. I'll break a tackle then get hit sticked but the unintuitive replay system will show the part where i'm running in open field just to track my speed which was the least impressive part of the play.

    Seriously, how does NFL 2K5 still have better replays and presentation. How does a game made on Ps2 have highlights at HF and post game and even highlights from games around the league? but we're suppose to believe that they can't have refs anymore because of memory issues haha we are getting screwed by buying this trash. There is a reason EA won worst company multiple years. If you think this is a good game you either don't know football or you're 12 and didn't experience games before they took the license and opted to release garbage.

    They've taken things out over the years just to put them back in and have them as a back of the box feature like the pro bowl or coaching trees for example. They add MUT **** and cosmetic items like new cleats when the game doesn't even recognize deep routes and defend them propely. Shows you their priorities, it's all about making money and screwing over people who wnat proper football but instead they appeal to the casual gamer or the gamers that care what shoes their Yard player has - the worst type of gamer - so this game gets a 1. Go read the review of the guy who gave it a 10 and that's the type of intelligence you need to believe this is a good game.

    Madden is all MUT, microtransactions, adding modes nobody asked for while neglecting fundamentals, somehow breaking things that worked in previous games, not fixing legacy issues while adding to them, and just one big marketing machine to hide the fact their game sucks. If they didn't have an exclusive license, this game would of gone the way of NBA live a loooong time ago.    … Expand

    Hasn’t been a month yet and I regret buying this game. Would crash a lot in franchise mode at coaches game day goal and now it crashes when I just click on franchise to load up. This game is getting worse not better. It’s a copy & paste with added assistant coaches, scouting is the same. Graphics are better but so is the technology in the world so that’s not a selling point anymore

    Again a once great franchise provides a joke of an installment to the community. EA having this exclusivity deal is disgusting. They haven't provided us with anything worth our money and Die hard football fans are left without a game to fill that desire to simulate pro football.

    Let’s be realistic. For an annual sports franchise, it’s not necessarily practical to expect huge evolution year on year. It’s also fair to say that at a minimum, players should expect EA to deliver incremental quality of life improvements and make an effort to hone their overall experience of the game for the better. Whilst there is only so far the needle can be pushed year on year, the launch of a new Madden on next-gen systems presented EA with an opportunity to really raise the bar. That’s why it’s particularly disappointing that Madden 22 only offers stagnant content and, sadly, creative disinterest.

    Madden is as compelling as it ever was, but it can’t escape the slight feeling that things are spread a little too thin. Improvements to franchise mode are welcome and help the experience, but they are smaller than perhaps they deserve. With so many different ways to play football, it’s a little difficult to get in invested in any one game.
