    Another disappointing game in the franchise. Very poor gameplay and glitchy animations make this game unbearable to play. Would not recommend!

    wow another madden game. game is glitchy, animations are not fluid, more like madden 15 than 2022. The stats for players are waaaaaaay off, and make this incredibly unfun and not worth it.

    Some old features have been reintroduced into this year’s game, but ultimately are only surface level additions. Unfortunately another year goes by with an absolutely embarrassing simulation football game released by EA Sports. Giving away free games - again - because they only care about the micro transactions that make them an insane amount of money. Reusing so many of the same things. This game is second to Cyberpunk with the amount of errors it has been released with. I wish they would just re-release Madden 05 with updated stadiums and rosters.… Expand

    just played my first game in Franchise mode, won 42-17 but it was counted as a 0-17 loss and my team stats in the game all disappeared,
    FFS EA please stop making NFL video games and focus on NCAA games

    I watched nfl 2k5 videos today just to remind myself of the good old days. I remember thinking of how amazing these games would be by improving year over year. 16 years absolutely wasted.

    A billion dollar company that relies on animations too much. Very buggy, not in-depth at all for franchise mode. Same relocation teams for the past 7 years. I wish I could get a refund for this game.

    Game is beyond trash. No time to make defensive adjustments cuz the offense comes straight out to the line. No defense. Pushing right, left, down on the right analog to put the ball where u want it doesn't work. They can't even get kickoffs right. Shouldn't have to substitute a rb in for a te or fb just to not fumble or not go anywhere. Beyond garbage. Everyone should be fired

    It’s the same game as last year, the biggest improvement they’ve “added” to franchise isn’t even in the game yet. I offered my brother $1k to play in a franchise with me and his friends. He played one game, said it was awful and declined. By the time this company makes a good game who knows if we’ll even be into sports games anymore.     In the year 2021 you would think everyone would have a half-way decent NFL game to play, but no EA sports and especially the Madden developers have proved once again they do not care nor give a **** at all. This game from what I have seen is a glitchy mess. On top of that you are always promoted things from ultimate team which is the mode that ultimately ruined this franchise. The game is unpolished and the franchise has been going on a downwards spiral since Madden 13.

    Do not buy this game; the only thing EA is good at is marketing. I don't know if it's that they can't code to save their life, or if if they're just lazy; the lack of any passion in this product is unacceptable for the only NFL sim game that's allowed by the NFL. The only thing they know how to do is marketing. You're basically just spending 70 dollars minimum for the right to buy Ultimate team trading card packs.

    I assure you, just buy some actual cards; you'll have way more fun. This game is horrible, and maybe one of the worst I have ever laid eyes upon.    … Expand

    Its virtually no different than all the previous maddens. This game seriously needs a massive overhaul. Completely revamp this ugly-ass menu, all the user interfaces for the franchise, ultimate team, the yard. Gameplay needs improvement like always. We need more depth, all around. The trial was more than enough to realize this game is terrible again. Just a roster update

    I want to rate the game higher because of all the new features and effort swami and other devs put into Franchise but the gameplay is so bad its still almost unplayable if you want simulation football. Full of bugs, glitches, and still runs on a FPS shooter engine. For instance, you need the “acrobat” ability in the game in order to make diving plays on defense, but the offensive man can dive and do whatever is necessary to make a play for his team. Juking and spinning is garbage unless you have abilities to make them more effective. What happened to we’ll never see the same tackles or other animations twice? I literally get the same tackle animations multiple plays in a row as if everything is scripted, because it is! The way they run routes is so clunky and slow at times that it irritates me. The yard is the same as last year, so what was the point of bringing it back!? Face of the franchise is complete garbage as well. In past maddens we were able to play whatever position you desired. You were able to go to training camp and actually wear training camp gear, go to barbershops, go get tattoos, and etc. it’s so many things missing from this franchise it’s insane. The gameplay is garbage and electronic arts lacks the innovation needed to push the football genre forward in gaming. If we Stop buying this bs because “it’s the only football game out” then we could probably make a change. I just pray that NCAA is spared and they make a game that we all love.… Expand

I’m franchise mode you can see the madden 21 dashboard running in the background. Just got done playing and winning the super bowl yo get back to the menu to say I lost 14-0. This game sucks. EA SUCKS, and y’all should give up your license to make football games. **** MUT **** the yard. Just give us a football game that works and doesn’t glitch every 17 seconds… Expand

When you switch to the receiver, you are slowed down, and this usually ends in a forced interception. 99 speed RB gets caught by a much slower MLB.     Simply put, this game is awful. Inexplicable glitches, predetermined outcomes on a play by play basis, and the same dry game modes. Franchise mode received some notable changes, but nothing to move the needle and make me excited to play the mode.

    Let’s be realistic. For an annual sports franchise, it’s not necessarily practical to expect huge evolution year on year. It’s also fair to say that at a minimum, players should expect EA to deliver incremental quality of life improvements and make an effort to hone their overall experience of the game for the better. Whilst there is only so far the needle can be pushed year on year, the launch of a new Madden on next-gen systems presented EA with an opportunity to really raise the bar. That’s why it’s particularly disappointing that Madden 22 only offers stagnant content and, sadly, creative disinterest.

    Madden is as compelling as it ever was, but it can’t escape the slight feeling that things are spread a little too thin. Improvements to franchise mode are welcome and help the experience, but they are smaller than perhaps they deserve. With so many different ways to play football, it’s a little difficult to get in invested in any one game.
