    wow another madden game. game is glitchy, animations are not fluid, more like madden 15 than 2022. The stats for players are waaaaaaay off, and make this incredibly unfun and not worth it.

Unfortunately another year goes by with an absolutely embarrassing simulation football game released by EA Sports. Giving away free games - again - because they only care about the micro transactions that make them an insane amount of money. Reusing so many of the same things. This game is second to Cyberpunk with the amount of errors it has been released with.     just played my first game in Franchise mode, won 42-17 but it was counted as a 0-17 loss and my team stats in the game all disappeared,
    FFS EA please stop making NFL video games and focus on NCAA games

    I watched nfl 2k5 videos today just to remind myself of the good old days. I remember thinking of how amazing these games would be by improving year over year. 16 years absolutely wasted.

    A billion dollar company that relies on animations too much. Very buggy, not in-depth at all for franchise mode. Same relocation teams for the past 7 years. I wish I could get a refund for this game.

    Game is beyond trash. No time to make defensive adjustments cuz the offense comes straight out to the line. No defense. Pushing right, left, down on the right analog to put the ball where u want it doesn't work. They can't even get kickoffs right. Shouldn't have to substitute a rb in for a te or fb just to not fumble or not go anywhere. Beyond garbage. Everyone should be fired

He played one game, said it was awful and declined. By the time this company makes a good game who knows if we’ll even be into sports games anymore.     In the year 2021 you would think everyone would have a half-way decent NFL game to play, but no EA sports and especially the Madden developers have proved once again they do not care nor give a **** at all. I don't know if it's that they can't code to save their life, or if if they're just lazy; the lack of any passion in this product is unacceptable for the only NFL sim game that's allowed by the NFL. The only thing they know how to do is marketing. You're basically just spending 70 dollars minimum for the right to buy Ultimate team trading card packs.

    I assure you, just buy some actual cards; you'll have way more fun. This game is horrible, and maybe one of the worst I have ever laid eyes upon.    … Expand

    Its virtually no different than all the previous maddens. This game seriously needs a massive overhaul. Completely revamp this ugly-ass menu, all the user interfaces for the franchise, ultimate team, the yard. Gameplay needs improvement like always. We need more depth, all around. The trial was more than enough to realize this game is terrible again. Just a roster update

    I want to rate the game higher because of all the new features and effort swami and other devs put into Franchise but the gameplay is so bad its still almost unplayable if you want simulation football. Full of bugs, glitches, and still runs on a FPS shooter engine. Juking and spinning is garbage unless you have abilities to make them more effective. What happened to we’ll never see the same tackles or other animations twice? I literally get the same tackle animations multiple plays in a row as if everything is scripted, because it is! The way they run routes is so clunky and slow at times that it irritates me. The yard is the same as last year, so what was the point of bringing it back!? Face of the franchise is complete garbage as well. In past maddens we were able to play whatever position you desired. You were able to go to training camp and actually wear training camp gear, go to barbershops, go get tattoos, and etc. it’s so many things missing from this franchise it’s insane. The gameplay is garbage and electronic arts lacks the innovation needed to push the football genre forward in gaming. If we Stop buying this bs because “it’s the only football game out” then we could probably make a change. I just pray that NCAA is spared and they make a game that we all love.… Expand

    Simply put, this game is awful. Inexplicable glitches, predetermined outcomes on a play by play basis, and the same dry game modes. Franchise mode received some notable changes, but nothing to move the needle and make me excited to play the mode.

    This game is complete trash. The Frostbite engine is not meant for this game. It makes it animation driven and the animations can't cancel. Makes for a ridiculous choppy experience. Zone defense is completely broken. Run blocking is terrible as always. There are no penalties, the game doesnt know the basic rules of football.     Absolutely broken game with glitches on the level of Cyberpunk 2077, you win a game and back out to the menu and then it says you lost. Pass defense is broken, pass rush is broken. This game is a joke and does not resemble football in any way shape or form. It's not football, it's Madden, and it's revolting that this is the only major "football game"

    The Franchise mode was supposed to be much improved and it was not. Menus are extremely laggy still and gameplay is still completely based on animations instead of really physics like All pro 2k8 a game that was made almost 14 years ago. SMH same exact game 21 was even a little better this **** is ass.

I then have started a franchise for it to crash before I even start a game. Let's see how this game feels if it actually loads through a complete game. Now an hour in. Gameplay is slightly smoother but overall product is garbage. TooI am currently into a half an hour of the 10 hour free trial I get by subscribing to your EA Access.     I was given Madden NFL 22 for free. I've already gone through the process of getting a refund for my friend. An all exclusive licensing should at the very least have something appealing, or even when you publish it have a half working game. I hope into franchise mode play a game I finish the game with a win of 27-7 and I get back to the main screen it counts it as a loss for me 7-0. Not to mention the first game I play the game is so bugged that it chooses to mash 4 different animations into one making the player look like a black hole. Besides that I also hop into the moot Face of the Franchise mode with a rather ok acting seen, but you hop into week 2 and when you win and you start heading for the screen again it says you have disconnected from the EA server it has not saved your data and sends you back to the main screen. I refuse to head into MUT because it's the same objectively pointless game each and every year you spend money on cards to make your team decent enough to compete against someone else and you work on grinding for the top tier cards at the end of the year only for it to be worth nothing but a 70 overall in next year's game just for you to re-do it again. Might I add that old gen is a carbon copy of Madden 18, 19, 20, and 21 all together because they did nothing but change the presentation screens and some scouting. The biggest emphasis they had on the game was Moment, and Home Field Advantages. When half of the population didn't get a PS5, XBOX Series X|S they stuck with old gen only to find out the same presentation in game from the past 6 years now, and that Home field advantage and momentum isn't even a thing on old gen.

    If EA actually reads this as I hope they do, when most of your customers are sending in refund requests, and not only that, but people who didn't even bother to buy the game they got it from someone for free and they still want to get a refund on it. Something is wrong. Your game objectively has no meaning anymore because I can't play Franchise mode because it's pointless to play a game only to come out and not have any type of data for my team and a loss counted against my record. Absolutely no point in me hoping into a Face of the Franchise game just for the EA to magically loss connection and my data lost and sent back to the main screen. You have ruined the NFL video game franchise, and you have ruined anything that is considered fun in the world of video games for the Sports Market Empire you hold so dear and don't want any critics to tell you differently.

    In Football, Coaches always talk about details pay attention to details they win games. This is the same fair point for this video game. You lack detail, and while you are probably doing it at home, just cancel the game rather than come out with something so embarrassingly atrocious. If I could I would give this a -100.

    Madden 22 is nowhere near where it needs to be. The only reason I bought it is because it's the ONLY NFL game available on current-gen consoles. It loads significantly slower than other PS5 games I play. EA needs to stop making Madden games.

    Holy crap all I did was just open the game up and it’s all black, after restarting the game 3 times I got it to run, then I did a play now. 1st play, fumble and the ball gets kicked around on the ground for 25 minutes before it goes out of bounds and the first quarter is over. But then the next quarter starts and a the other team has 6 point and I have 2 points.     This game is an improvement over Madden 21, just like Madden 21 is an improvement over Madden 20. However, being slightly better than a terrible game doesn't make it a good game. Franchise Mode finally got an update in a long time since the mode was never updated after Madden 25 but even with the Franchise Mode update the mode is still barebones and still is the same thing ever sinceThis game is an improvement over Madden 21, just like Madden 21 is an improvement over Madden 20.     Gameplay is still the same ever since EA put Madden on the Frostbite Engine (a First-Person Shooter Game Engine). It's still animation-based and incredibly scripted & the game still doesn't feel or play like a true NFL Simulator. Not to mention that EA signed a 6-Year extension with the NFL for exclusive rights for the Franchise which means we have to wait until 2026 just to see another company make an NFL Simulator. If someone wants to play a licensed NFL Game you can only play this game because of EA's exclusive license with the NFL. JUST PUT ALL OF YOUR BLAME ON THE GAME TOWARDS THE NFL AND EA BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE AT ALL!!!!

    All-Pro Football 2K8 was the last 2K Football Game, despite the fact the game came out in 2007 & it still features the best gameplay in a Football Game even though the game is unlicensed with no official teams but licensed players. APF 2K8 doesn't have a lot of depth, but the gameplay makes it up for the depth. The 6th-Gen Version of Madden 07 is the greatest Madden EVER because of its depth, the Franchise mode still blows any Modern Madden Franchise away because Madden 07 has over 80+ features that aren't in a Madden Game today. Madden 07's gameplay wasn't great and it didn't feel realistic like the 2K Games, it felt arcade-like but it was at least fun and challenging but it felt better than Modern Madden because it wasn't ruled by scripted animations. Madden 07 lacked in gameplay, but it was made up for its depth. What makes Madden 22 horrible is that it doesn't succeed at either Gameplay or Depth!!

    When you boot up the game, it still shows the same game modes from Madden 21 but EA added a new mode called "Championship Series" but it's just a part of Ultimate Team. When you boot up Championship Series it just takes you to Ultimate Team forcing you start spending your money on MUT packs. P2W Game Modes don't deserve to exist in a fully-priced game like this. There's just another Face of the Franchise story & small Franchise updates with nothing else new. Madden 22's FOTF is lame & you can only play as either a Quarterback or Linebacker (older Madden Superstar modes allow you to play any position even Kicker or Offensive Lineman). You can't change your player's number in College, the cutscenes look like PS3 graphics or worse, the script is so BAD it makes you wanna skip every cutscene & it could force you to stop playing the game in general. When you start the mode it forces you to play Tutorial drills over & over, you can't change the college difficulty, & once you get drafted to the NFL the mode doesn't have any other incentives to keep you playing.

    THERE IS NO CARE PUT INTO THIS GAME & EVERYTHING IS JUST RE-USED FROM OLDER MADDENS OR OTHER EA SPORTS GAMES & ITS STILL FAR BEHIND FROM OLDER MADDEN GAMES!! THE GAME ISN'T WORTH $60 & IT SHOULDN'T BE BOUGHT FROM ANYONE EXCEPT YOUTUBERS, STREAMERS, OR MADDEN SIMPS WHO THINK THE GAME IS GOD-LIKE!!!

I was picked by the jags at qb in face off the franchise, and they had Lawrence on the team too. I started a game as the jets to play the dolphins, but apparently the dolphins were too busy, so instead the game just loaded the jets vs the jets. Just an absolutely broken product, yet again.

    How many times will we buy into EAs lies? How long must we suffer this garbage rinse and repeat cycle? The NFL really need to drop EA ASAP. They don’t care about the user, they care about filling their pockets with money from streamers and youtubers.     I enjoyed Madden (NOT 22) when I first started playing years ago, but I have been disappointed the past 7-8 years or so ever since animations have run/ruin the game. This game solely relies on animations (BiG SurPRisE), rather than actual user skill.

    I won’t write much more as nobody will probably read this, but I will not be buying another Madden game in the future unless EA either **** off or starts to give a ****    … Expand

    this game feel like Madden 13..looks like madden 13.. horrible animations, horrible programming, horrible logic. very disappointing "Net Gen" effort by EA. as long as they make MUT money, this won't change. I can only hope for us consumers that the exclusive agreement will FINALLY end in 2026 and we can get true competition.

    Let’s be realistic. For an annual sports franchise, it’s not necessarily practical to expect huge evolution year on year. It’s also fair to say that at a minimum, players should expect EA to deliver incremental quality of life improvements and make an effort to hone their overall experience of the game for the better. Whilst there is only so far the needle can be pushed year on year, the launch of a new Madden on next-gen systems presented EA with an opportunity to really raise the bar. That’s why it’s particularly disappointing that Madden 22 only offers stagnant content and, sadly, creative disinterest.

    Madden is as compelling as it ever was, but it can’t escape the slight feeling that things are spread a little too thin. Improvements to franchise mode are welcome and help the experience, but they are smaller than perhaps they deserve. With so many different ways to play football, it’s a little difficult to get in invested in any one game.
