    May is far to OP, I say that as a player who's always played May or Bridget since 2000s. Poor take on Bridget, her canonical story would be better left to femboy identity instead of 'groomy' parentals to trans. but hey, fan-cannon is all that matters to whoever wants whatever to be whoever whenever

    This games whole concept is flawed. Rushdown/button mashing playstyles are more rewarded than composed and steady ones. The people who want to play slow characters for example Goldlewis, Nago and Potemkin have a huge disadvantage compared to others because if you get them in the corner once then it's basically game over for them. The characters are made with the same mindset league of legends balances it's champions. Some of them are embarrassingly overpowered and you need to "learn" the match up. I don't know about every gamer out there but a small learning curve is ok, but when you have to watch 50 minute YouTube videos to just understand how to get some other characters down to your level, it just doesn't make sense to put so much effort into something that is not meant to be like that in the first place. Lastly, this game is already dead. There are so many lobbies that are empty and the whole matchmaking process is clunky. The story is also written like a Bollywood action movie with laughably bad and naive dialogues.… Expand

    Playing strive is like watching a slide show with the strange low fps of character .worst characters of a Guilty gear game aswell. All sex appeal has been removed from females and it mostly a sausage fest.

    Everytime I get on I quit the game frustrated due to the games terrible lobbies refusing to let me play against people standing right in front of me, which can seemingly only be fixed by quitting the game and relaunching, which is a painfully slow process even on PS5 due to how long it takes for the game to communicate to the server on start up.     Playing the game online is impossible with the input lag, Its literally saying i jumped when i never pressed the up button, thats how bad it is. Waste of time and money, for a game with no actual story mode *facepalm*

    A poor man's Street Fighter. Cheap graphics from the PS2 era and shoddy game play. Avoid.

    The number of basic characters is too few and DLC is too expensive.
    New characters are not attractive.
    The arcade mode is difficult to play because the difficulty level changes on its own.
    The character design of the online lobby is terrible.

    You could literally just play Guilty Gear XX AC+R lmao. If you're gonna make the game all about unga bunga then at least give me a faster air dash and some gatlings so it can be fun. It's insane that XX and Xrd are like DOUBLE the speed and have DOUBLE the defensive options lmaooo.

    Noting Strive was difficult, because it really depends on what you expect from the game. If you're a FGC veteran, or a beginner who plans on investing time for discovering fighting games, Strive is a masterpiece. Beautiful game with rock/metal songs, GGST will give you all the keys to become the best fighter in the world, thanks to his amazing tutorials and rollback netcode. But if you just plan on playing offline, just in the solo mode, you should avoid it, because that is not where Strive shines. And if you just want a fighting game to play with friends at home from time to time, well you can give it a shot because the characters are really cool, and you'll have a lot of fun.

    Guilty Gear has always been a stylized series, but it’s a fighting game with a lot of depth that rewards those who practice and learn all of its unique quirks and techniques. Strive makes some smart changes that simplify some past techniques without sacrificing the soul of what makes it so much fun to play. Serious fighting game fans will appreciate its complexity and promising netcode, and everyone else will enjoy its vivid cast and rewarding, flashy combo system.

    The latest instalment of the Guilty Gear series is one of the most beautiful fighting games I’ve ever encountered and it plays great, partly thanks to the new wall break mechanic that lets you avoid being beaten to a pulp while trapped in a corner. What’s disappointing is the fact that we will have to wait a couple of months for the game to show its full potential with the addition of new characters and arenas, because right now its content is rather scant.
