    What I like most about Gotham Knights is how it feels like a day in the life of a vigilante. I enjoyed the to do list of missions and the freedom to take on different adventures anyway I pleased. It made me feel responsible for a city and gave me a sense of emersion. The combat was very familiar from the latest Batman and Spiderman video games, and I had a blast crafting and collectingWhat I like most about Gotham Knights is how it feels like a day in the life of a vigilante. I enjoyed the to do list of missions and the freedom to take on different adventures anyway I pleased. It made me feel responsible for a city and gave me a sense of emersion. The combat was very familiar from the latest Batman and Spiderman video games, and I had a blast crafting and collecting suits. The copious amount of dialogue between the main characters made them feel three dimensional people. Leveling was simple and concise.

    Once you accept it's not an Arkham-style game it's very fun. The main story is not as good as side cases but I didn't care as much cause it's so fun going out on patrol. Beating up gangs and finding new suit and weapon upgrades keeps you engaged. Maybe if the 4-player, Heroic Assault mode was available at launch, the reception would be more positive but I guess the devs were not ready.Once you accept it's not an Arkham-style game it's very fun.     You all know the praise don't knock it till you have tried it. That is a great saying for this game everyone is giving it a zero just because of 30 fps, but if it were to have more then graphics would not be as good. It also has a pretty cool story and fun combat. This game I would recommend if you are looking for a fun game to play.

    There is alot of reasons to give GN a low score and they are all very valid from what I have seen.But I had such a great time playing with and Upgrading the Gorgous Bat Girl , that I have to admit I like this game...
    It is generic , it's full of the tired modern game mechanics and it 30fps, the ultimate next gen sin..But unlocking Bat Girls abilities and crafting her next sexy outfit had    There is alot of reasons to give GN a low score and they are all very valid from what I have seen.But I had such a great time playing with and Upgrading the Gorgous Bat Girl , that I have to admit I like this game...

    I let critical reviews put me off for a long time and only recently got it on sale, game is actually pretty good and I’m surprised with the negativity. Maybe with the patches to date it’s improved things, but even so there’s a lot of great things that would have been in the game from release day that we’re sold short.

    Started slow and limited combat and just moving around the city sucked. I fell for the bad reviews and shelved the game. Finished GOWR and played it again. Turns out if you are looking for immediate greatness and have patience it's a pretty great game. The better combat comes from the momentum moves and the movement around the city comes from knighthood.     Never bought the game due to the reviews and the 30 fps, but got it cheap and wow!!! This was not a $90 game at 30fps but it would have been at 60fps. This game is great and the story is fun as heck. Once you get over the fact this is not a Batman game and go into as an entirely new concept it actually works very well.     More then decent game now after the latest update the game runs great still has some mem. leaks prob after a while but way way better then it was at launch at least.
    Gameplay its not bad (even if not on par with Arkham Knights) also the visuals are great .
    Not a top game but still a 7.7/10 fun to play the city looks great in 4K with RT ON.

I feel most people's problem with it is some how they thought it was going to be Arkham even though you know the developers said multi times it wasn't. I came back to several updates and the game runs great. There are still some flaws (why no jump button?!?!) but the game is really good.     I didn't want to buy it because of the reviews until the price dropped at the end of the year and I bought it. The truth is that I am enjoying it and the story seems very good. The graphics are not a disaster, they are good but obviously not like other games. I would give it a 10 but because of some little things about the gameplay I give this an 8.

    Ez egy közepese játék nem érdemel 10 ponot. De 4.8 pontot se. El lehet szórakozni vele unalom üzőnek jó. Arkham gamekhez képest nagyon más a harcrendszere nekem batman harcrendszer jobban tetszik. A boss fightot jobban élvezem mint az arkham gamekbe. Nekem nem tűnt fel hogy 30fps a game. PS5 jól van optimizálva. 1 bug volt az se volt vészes.

    Very fun game, people complain about refresh rate and buggy. I have played through the game 3 times and countless hours of side quests and very rarely ran into a bug. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but tot game is fun and most gripes are about refresh rate not actual game play.

    Im a arkham fanboy, but i'm loving this game, loved the city, and how gotham is more alive in this game, the gameplay is fun, and i liked the characters, i dont know why the media critics are so harsh on this game

    The characters have a huge range of customisation and development, including skills and special abilities. Combat abilities vary from close to range abilities, with a couple of fun twists here and there, all unique to the individual characters.

    The navigation through the city also varies from character to character, although everyone can use the batcycle.

    Overall it's a very fun and engaging experience, which I highly recommend.    … Expand

    i don't understand the bad reviews...30fps? sure..but it's not like it's a new thing today. Gotta say i enjoy this game way more then i enjoyed God of War Ragnarok. Yes it is a bit like the Ubisoft formula..only i enjoy playing it here. Was one of the most fun i had after Elden ring

Pre-release, there was a huge negative response to the fact this game is 30fps however I find the game plays well and cannot see any issue with the frame rate.     I’d like to feel like the Batcycle has a bit more to it. It feels almost pedestrian whilst riding. The combat was slated in reviews but I have no issue with it. Do I think this is Game of the Year? No. Do I think this is a fun, chilled game that I can dib in and out of? Yes. Not yet tried co-op but heard good things from a friend.    … Expand

I think if anyone played the game would just be fair and know it can not be a 1. The story is short but the three side missions are great. It's no GTA for sure but it has its own vibe.     The 4 characters are interesting, and have their own playstyle, albeit very similar in combat.
    The world is HUGE and fun to explore once you get a secondary traversal method. The enemies, while generic, are fun to take on, and even stealth is enjoyable to me. I won't lie and say this game is    If you like the Batman Mythos, this is a game you should, at the very least, give a try to.

    I won't lie and say this game is without flaws however.

    The crafting system seems like it was just thrown in to give you something to do, but it is fun to play with and create new costumes.

    The combat is definitely repetitive, but its a Batman game so I can give it a pass.

    The lack of the iconic gadgets does reduce your ability to truly step into the shoes of the 4 heroes, but it doesn't take it completely away.

    I look at this as, maybe like Arkham Asylum, they are testing new ground, want to make more in the franchise, and expand later.

    It's also supposed to be they are taking over from Batman after he destroyed the Batcave and everything in it, so that might include most of his tech, which would explain why they don't have the same gadgets.

    Overall I don't understand the hate, and reading other reviews it seems everyone is focused on Graphics instead of Gameplay.
    In fact, most of the Negative Reviews I've read are all about the FPS and Graphics.

    The city is beautiful, iconic landmarks dot the skyline and several places are just fun to go look at.
    The story, so far, is enjoyable to me, and I'm already developing theories about iconic villains that could appear, but again, like Arkham Asylum, they might be tipping the iceberg to expand in another game later.

    Overall this is a solid entry that brings some new ideas to the table, but maybe could have learned from their own lore and made sure to focus on the things that make the Arkham games great.

    At the end of the day I think the game is fun and enjoyable, and I like coming up with ways to take down thugs from stealth, or panic them so they start looking around for me to lure them in for a takedown.

    the fast paced combat is also a lot of fun to me.

    This Game is absolutely brilliant. The story is heartfelt ,funny and overall just wonderful. Playing this game alongside my boyfriend has been an absolute joy and seeing the interaction between our two characters (Barbara and Jason) has been some of my favourite gaming moments. This game was worth the hype for me. The game was really made for the fans of the comics and the Batman universeThis Game is absolutely brilliant.     Very enjoyable Batman game!

    For those who think the combat isn’t as hard hitting as the Arkham games, remember to upgrade your gear after every patrol: the game throws loads of new blueprints, materials and mods at you. That’ll keep you punching hard. Do the Knighthood challenges early to unlock unique traversal modes, they’re fun and make getting around the city easier.

    This game is everything to me, we get to experience the members of the bat family to know how useful and powerful they can be!
    With patches, updates and DLCs, this game will be 10/10!

The main characters we have here have charm and all have different personalities and feelings and struggles. The graphics are pretty great and the game may run at 30 but honestly it doesn't take that long until you get used to it.

    And lastly the gameplay, the strongest part of the game and the game that has the most potential, the gameplay is extremely good and all the characters play differently and are all fleshed out. I don't understand the hate for the gameplay here, its truly very good and satisfying when using all your momentum abilities, hacking electronics or beating down foes with Barbara, using your piercing bullets from a range and being a brawler with Red Hood, using his acrobatic skills to his advantage and bouncing from enemy to enemy with Nightwing, playing stealthy, using your staff to strike enemies fluidly and teleporting from enemy to enemy with Robin. It's all so good!

    Some key issues I have with the game however is levels can sometimes be tedious to get through as the level design isn't very well thought out and honestly very average. Some story missions feel very lazy and half assed forcing you to do some crimes and just slapping a cutscene at the end of it. The gear system can monotonous as you constantly have to create new gear when leveling up and swapping your current gear with gear that just does more damage and so on and so forth. Some enemies are just very annoying and tedious to get through as some higher tier enemies or the talons for example will continuously dodge your attacks. And a final complaint would be the fact that sometimes you may have to grind to do certain missions or you'll find that enemies/bosses will be health sponges and it can get very annoying.

    But overall, we have a very solid game here and I would recommend it to anyone, the core of the game has lots of potential for a sequel with the main issue being that the game is just rough around the edges in a lot of aspects, but again with the main core mechanics, story and characters being overall very good. 8/10    … Expand

There are some odd things with how the grappling hook targets perches and how you sometimes get a bit stuck on top of the perch and need to jerk around a bit to get loose. I have had no framerate issues. It doesn't try to be an Arkham game, so why are people comparing them? This game has 4 very different characters with very different combat style and personalities. Each trying to honor the dark knight in there own ways. Either don't revive batman or let him STAY alive, the way they did it just makes you so disappointed. FPS kinda sucks but it's mostly fine. The gameplay is great and I've seen many reviews on YouTube that say the gameplay repetitive but it's not. The city was made well but there aren't very enticing incentives for exploring it. Also the Nighthood suits (the best suits in the game) being only transmogs was disappointing too as colorways can't be applied to transmogs, not to mention that they dont have cowl, symbol, glove, or shoe options. The same goes for the **** suits that are locked behind DLC. The stealth is very well done and the combat system using momentum bars works very well. Also the skills unlocked via the ability trees neither make you seem too overpowered, nor do they seem meaningless. btw fire whoever designed Jason Todd's hoodie strings… Expand

I preordered it knowing it wasn't a continuation of the Arkham series, and instead knew it was a new spin. I've currently done all the Mr.Freeze, Clayface, and Harley side quests and am about level 25. I've seen really no glitches, the combat is more arpg like than the Arkham series. The storyline is compelling and has me wanting to play more. People complaining about the 30fps have either not been gaming long or haven't done the homework. It’s flashy, has some decent variety in enemy types and crimes, and just has not gotten boring for me. The story is interesting. It’s engaging, it feels decently rooted in the city you run around in. A city I’m aiming to 100% just like Spider-Man. It’s a comic book game, don’t get me wrong, but it wears this on its sleeve and still manages to at least touch on the multi-dimensional layers a human can have. The game knows it’s gritty, nonsensical, and flashy. The characters even know this. The suits and color ways are absolutely mint to go through and wear out on the town. I mainly main Red-Hood but can be quite honest when I’ve found myself losing time with the other characters and their options. It’s steeped in variety and gives incentive to actually wear the new gear you craft or catch (unlike Avengers/Marvel’s Numbers) I’m still randomly swapping out suits for either elemental reasons, critical chance reasons, or style; often the game aligns all three of these at once in a suit for me. I’m in love.

    Is it worth it for 70$?? I don’t think most games are without a decent amount of support for the game given after launch. As for right now, without the optimization rolled out, gauntlet mode released, or possible DLCs mentioned, I’d only recommend this game for about $45-$55 range. I think the developers should definitely reap the rewards of their efforts but I, like most, worry about my own financial/enjoyment situation more than I do being persuasive. It’s a fun game. More fun if you love the characters. Story holds onto you, world is just flashy and interesting enough to keep you, combat feels very open to many styles. Worth it for me!! 81/100    … Expand

    After spending 50+ hours in this game, I can safely say the critics are wrong about this one. It is very similar to Marvels Spiderman games, mixed with elements of Destiny. Combat is a blast and Gotham is so much fun to navigate around. The story is great too.

    The game is a ton of fun for fans of DC and the Batman Family. Even if you don't know much about them, the combat is not Arkham but it's excellent in its own right. The gameplay loop is quite addictive. My only wish would be that I could take an AI companion with me if I wanted. It is only 30fps on PS5, but it doesn't ruin the experience, at least for me, at all.

    Really good game has its issues but other than that it's really good, some great boss fights and missions, only problem is the fps drops and sometimes weird animations. Awesome costumes to unlock and loads of criminals to beat.

    It's a refreshing release compared to the same old titles that often get released with a multitude amount of bugs and ends up ruining any momentum the game might have had. I 100% thought this game would show many bugs but didn't happen to run into any. Surprising to say the title I had the least faith on actually delivers on a bug free experience, which is something most developers seem to love not doing.

    The only two complaints I have for the game is of course the stupid frame rate and traversal. Either the frame cap happened because of the quality of the textures and the amount of things on screen for the game to render or just a total lack of optimization. Either way if in a future update they can patch a 60 or even stabilize the frame rate further, I'll be happy. Traversal from the beginning of the game is SLOW to the point that when I unlocked fast travel, that would end up being the main way I got around the city. Grappling is fine but can get a little smoothed out in animations, the main problem comes from the bat-cycle which gets even worse when grouped up with the locked frame rate. Used it only for the first quarter of the game until I got my hero's movement ability's, only ever touching it again for challenges.

    This game is very difficult to recommend due to the vastly different type of game this is in comparison to the games that are being released today. I had much fun playing this and most certainly would love to possible DLC or more game modes apart from the four players PvE experience we get in a month. To those who play this game, try to enter it as if it’s a completely new game that has nothing to do with the batman games that came before it, even if it seems impossible to.    … Expand

    Its solid, ran fine on my older 5 year old system at 1080p and has a lot of fun characters to enjoy.. Not a fan of Batman myself but like the Bat family a lot. The systems are fun the loot is fun and the world feel just right. The combat feels deeper than Arkham series and looks a lot nicer as well, and finally less Rain 24/7..

    Solid 8/10 for me.

    Amazing and fun, Gotham Knights looks visually beautiful & stunning. Had a lot of fun playing the Co-op with my little brother. This was definitely a different take from the arkham Series. Some people may like it and others won't. But don't listen to reviews and go give it a try for yourself.

It’s has its glitches, very few but they do happen, but the crimes all over the city and 4 playable characters with single or coop is what the Batman games always needed and never got. The different costumes and enemy types keep me busy and the story and the rpg elements are a nice touch. Looking forward to wants in store for DLC!

    As for those who actually have money to purchase things and come looking for real reviews, I apologize you have to dig through this muck. There are some good ones sprinkled amongst the dredge, so I’ll be brief. The experience you’ll have with this game is inversely proportional to what your standards were going into it. Don’t compare it to the Arkham series; it ain’t that. Combat isn’t as engaging, and it’s not as sprawling and developed as you’d expect for a AAA “open world RPG”. The story develops nicely but the experience as a whole doesn’t feel fully complete. On the technical side, there are legitimate issues and gripes to be had, especially if you’re on a current gen console (PS5/XBOX Series X/S), in particular the frame rate hovering around 30 or less. I’d recommend this for someone who is a big DC/Batman fan, but waiting for some patches and updates to smooth out problems as well as a price drop, isn’t a bad idea. 7/10 game. 10/10 score to do my minuscule part in offsetting the fundamentalists posing as buying customers.    … Expand

    Loving the game, it's different from the Batman games and that means it doesn't get the same old same feeling! Combat is fast and the graphics are good, love the cinematics. I've been a Batman fan all my life so I would have gotten it anyway but I was pleasantly surprised by this.

    I was expecting this game to be terrible especially after the reviews but honestly it's a really fun game. My only problems are the UI & sometimes I'll have frame dips, but for the most part it's worth a try. The game kinda grows on you as you progress & learn your character better, and the city feels more alive then I would've assumed.

    (10 points to allocate)
    Strength lies in the story (+3). Engaging and puts you in the moment.

    Agility is in the movement mechanics (-1). Some clunky move sets like the traversal and not mantling a wall or not focusing on the right enemy detract from the flow of your superhero movement.

    Charisma looks at the writing (+1). Catch phrases and discussions between characters keep you engaged. The interrogation and the engagement with the story keep you motivated to further progress.

    Perception looks at side content (+2). The Open World shows compassion toward multiplayer and keeps you interested in what you need or are trying to do. You feel like you are doing something toward the end goal and doesn't detract from the experience.

    Luck is about loot and rewards (+1). Collectibles, while tedious in other Arkham games, feel less important, yet give rewarding lore when collected (its not a chore per say). The loot is interesting and plays toward that Action RPG mechanic and feels good.

    Intellect looks at puzzles and level of difficulty (-1). While the game is an action RPG, it does not rely on detective work like the others. Puzzles, like Riddler trophies or crime scenes, don't feel "Batman" worthy. They also feel thrown in. The level of difficulty saves this from a -2. It is not easy enough to press two buttons and survive. There is a level of mastery needed the further in the game you go.

    Endurance looks at length vs. interest (+1). The length is for open world games/ multiplayer fun. You can play for hours doing missions and foiling crime. The main story is engaging and will take you some time, but replay value is also based on which character you play and how you play the game. The ability to play a bit at a time and feel good is great! For those of you with a job or responsibilities, this is a good game to play for short bursts.    … Expand

Every single boss in the game is amazing (except 1 which I admittedly despise) combat feels more rewarding as I learn more about the games mechanics. Collectibles are all a nightmare to find without just googling it as none of these very small items have hints on where to find them. Bike is very underwhelming considering it's the only vehicle. And while I enjoy learning about the mechanics of each enemy they could have used a tips menu of some kind. But even with all that being said. I love this game. And I highly recommend it as long as you aren't obsessed with the notion of fps like many of the other reviews here.… Expand

    This is a great game it should be game of the year with the in-depth story. This isn't the end of Batman's legacy of games. This is like the Matrix in the end the critics will change their mind. Everyone give this game a 10.

    Really don't understand where all the hate and bad reviews this game is getting!! WB Montreal did an amazing job all around!! Gotham City is absolutely stunning, and the gameplay is great! Stop comparing this to the Rocksteady games cause it's not supposed to be one of those! This is a must play to anyone who likes open world RPG's

The graphics are top notch, the audio is great, and the story is engaging. Leveling up feels good and progressing nicely, and the suit cosmetics are varied and look great.     Gotham knights is a lot of fun! Playing coop with friends is a great time. Ive been a fan of the Arkham series since day one. This is a different experience but extremely fun in its own way! 10/10 would buy

    Is the game perfect? Obviously not, but the amount of reviews giving this game a 0 based solely on 30fps is ridiculous. This score is to even out the crappy reviews this game is getting.

    I’m really enjoying the game so far. I’d probably give the game a 8. If your a Batman fan I think you will enjoy this game. If your not a pretentious fps snob.

    -The overall concept of patrolling the streets of Gotham every night to stop crimes can be a bit repetitive and the RPG elements combined with a bad UI dose get annoying at times.

    - The bat bike is nice but a bit slow….

    - Combat is fun, but somewhat makes you feel “powerless” at first. Why does a badass superhero need to dish out 10 punches to take down a random thug?

    Pros:

    - The story is awesome and starts off with an insane cinematic! It’s dark, intriguing and the various interiors you explore are so beautiful (the villain stories are also a blast to play).

    - Combat is challenging and the hero animations are so damn sweet!

    - Co-op (do I need to say anything more).

    - Probably the first superhero game where you can really impact how you wish to play. You get to pick between 4 very different characters that all have a unique fighting style. You get to choose your outfits and customize your stats to fit your play style.

    If you like superhero and/or co-op games, I can’t see how this game is not a blast for most players.    … Expand

    My friend and I played all the weekend, about 20 hours, and we love playing coop. The is much better with a friend then single player. Massive problem I have is the 10fps-30fps that ruin the experience for me and gave me a headache. I enjoy the exploration and combat but the fps is bad. The stealth isn't great and is clunky also. Robin is my favorite character.

    Really loving this game. It was pretty much everything I wanted and expected. It reminds me a lot of Spider-man 2018 for PS4. There is the main story but then there are also a lot of crimes going on and different factions to fight. The main issue is the performance is locked at 30FPS and even dips under that target.     Personally I like this better than Arkham and the I enjoy different combat for a change and it's more fitting for a rpg like similar to dark souls, plus the multiplayer is awesome. This game is RPG and NOT a Arkham action game.     The game is not bad and serves you a lot. You want a hero? You have four. Want big missions? Usually you have about three going at once. You want side missions? You've got a city full of them. Which doesn't mean it's a great game. Just good and solid. [Issue#323]

    Not being content with being one of the most soulless products released under the Warner Bros. label, it is also extremely underwhelming from a technical point of view. Gotham Knights was originally developed as a multi-gen title, but PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions got cancelled. Despite this, the visuals underwhelm and fail to impress and manage to look worse than the last major Batman instalment released seven years prior. Capping at a mere 30fps might be excusable if this boasted the most cutting edge visuals on the market, but it manages to look cheap and dated. For a AAA production from Warner Bros., this should have been a visual tour de force, with top writing talent, and have evolved the gameplay to compete with its contemporaries. Maybe it can be salvaged over time with updates, but currently it's one of the most droll and sloppily designed triple-A products of 2022.

    Gotham Knights would be a great game, its sandbox approach to exploring Gotham is top-notch and its story keeps you just engaged enough to keep playing. The problem lies in the game’s lackluster combat and endless fighting cycles of beating up the same factions over and over and over with little to no variation to dialogue.
