    This is my very first PS5 game and I really loved this game, I understand that this game is only online game which I don't like it, but I really enjoyed it. Overall I'm really looking forward to see if they add offline mode for this game.

I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (5) Flawed. It may be obvious that the game has lots of potential, but it’s most engaging features could be undeniably flawed or not integrated into the experience.

    I love this game. I started following this game very early in development and while it was somewhat disapointing the updates sure made up for it. while im not a fan of the bosses or hunts vs animals i love the group fights and kind of miniboss enimies but sometime their movesets can feel unfair. Regardless this game is amazing.

    Wollte es mal kurz antesten, da mich die eher schlechten Kritiken lange abgeschreckt haben. Hatte dann aber mit der Kampagne echt meinen Spaß. Die Welten boten zwar nicht gerade Abwechslung, aber die Kämpfe haben mir Spaß gemacht. Also einen Blick wert ist es auf jeden Fall, wenn man mit Hack'n'Slay was anfangen kann.

    Looks great but anything else is not.
    Gameplay is fun but repetitive, the story is laughable. There is a conflict but the characters have the personality of a potato and the backstory.

    They don't present the story very well, so be prepared to play for 8 hours and still not understand what the hell is going on with that. It's badly explained, badly put forward and even by reading the codex information it's as if they heard a story then tried to replicate it but missed the best parts. Imagine being told about back to the future without the delorean, marty or doc. There is no excitement, no motivation bar raising stats and fighting the same things with slightly higher stats. I mean gaming is all about this but... never quite so in your face obvious as this. it drains any hope you have for next generation gaming.

    The game is pretty to look at, and it's very linear... i mean i'd tell you to explore but with the lack of map button (i mean seriously) you might end up getting lost and going in circles and it's just repetitive **** anyway (as pretty as it is, it's all just copy n paste with maybe different colours for different realms). The maps aren't even well thought out which is why there isn't a map button, the disappointment then would be much more real.

    Game throws a lot at you without really explaining anything, it'll tell you about spirit tethers and rubbish but not show you what one looks like.. so there's guesswork and hitting stuff involved at the beginning (honestly the tutorial and starting missions afterwards are badly thought out and will put you off the story part of the game anyway).

    You kill things (maybe like what 20 different enemy types which are then repeated with slightly different colours of textures). Hack and slash. Then loot 99% of useless junk, and one upgrade out of a 100 things. Then continue. It's not fun. it's not enjoyable, and it'll just waste away your life. Do anything else but play this.

    There's different armours to craft but that means grinding the mats to make them, and they're not all that different. in this game like destiny you'd have thought they'd make them a little more original and standalone with maybe classes (like tank, dps... or even paladin, mage etc) but really bar maybe a couple of things they all play and perform the same way)

    expect a lot of disappointment with this game and if you got just the PS Plus edition you'll only know disappointment. DO NOT upgrade to the story content, you aren't missing anything.... there is no real game.. it's JUST terrible. ALL Over.

    It had potential. HAD being the operative word. If anthem was never released. THIS would be the anthem. I'm sure the developer thanks the gods that anthem exists or this would have surpassed it in terms of quality, scale and terrible gameplay.

    there is nothing redeemable here. nothing at all. it's not even open world, welcome to instanced 1999 rubbish even with all the tech available, it's basically just a drip fed game that has so few stuff in it, it's all just copy n paste with maybe slight different variations of the same stuff with different stats.     I had fun for a while, and found this to be an above average game.

    It did some neat things, and the worlds I found interesting for a time. I got quite a bit of fun out of this game, but near the end it got stale. And that may be on me, as I didn't have anyone else to really do the end game with, and have bad luck with random players.     I wasted 25 bucks to buy an used copy of this trash game. One the most boring and repetitive game i've played in the last decade. Also spamming L3 to run every 10 seconds is not good aswell, it's obnoxious. Repetitive, repetitive repetitive. And the plot is weak as hell. Stay away from it.

    For a game that boasts flashy affects, a semi good story, and a feel of the game after just an hour, that's all you get. There is hope for the story but the gameplay is very repetitive. When it comes to the loot that you want, you have to spend hours grinding for the piece of equipment that you want and once you finally get it, you'd be lucky to get one with decent stats for your current level.

    Great game.. It’s visually stunning, original story was bland, but they really put together a better story in the DLC. Good looting and leveling system. They actually give you more control over the loot you target which allows you to focus on enhancing your build piece by piece. This game reminds me of Warframe.

    The game was already not excelling at all at what it has to offer, but Sony decided to make it worse by only giving PS+ users a lite version that doesn’t make sense at all. Sometimes I really do not get it! Not a big loss anyway, I was already starting to feel bored at the end of the tutorial.

    To me godfall is the definitive meh game.
    It's not bad but not good either, combat is alright but nothing special(and a little confusing at first trying aim using a cross-hair in a strictly melee focused game) , and the cut-scenes somehow come off as ridiculous and overly serious at the same time.
    Like I said it's not a bad game but I also wouldn't recommend playing it.

    This is free for PS plus, but it's a scam. They have the story locked so you can't play without purchasing. Scamming PS plus members. Thanks for allowing this Sony. Only part of the game is free and no one plays the end game.

    If ya want a looter, play destiny, if ya want hack’n slash play Devil may cry, if ya want souls like, Bloodborne dark souls or hell even the other ps plus free mortal shell is better then this half baked over priced style over substance gacha waste of time

I was ok with the fact, Sony scammed people who claimed the ps plus version of FF7 Remake and couldn't upgrade for free to PS5 version even though they owned the disc version.     I have a hard time playing with it. I paid for it at full price and asked for an at least partial refund several times. Maybe I was influenced by the critics. Although the graphics department is very good.

    There is no one sucks.

    Ill young on 0 for this. This month they give It for free challenge edition instead of a complete edition.

    This game was crap...and remains crap.

    This game already was so bad. And now it is even worse. With this PS Plus version of Godfall, that lacks a single player campaign. And you want ME to PAY for campaign with "Deluxe Upgrade"??? This is such a spit-in-the-face, both from SONY and Godfall dev.
    Rating 0 Score untill they give us Normal Edition.

    Unfortunately the game seemed like a hack n slash mobile phone game ..although it has fantastic visuals n does make great use of the ps5 ,also the audio is of very high quality ..but I couldn't tolerate the game my self had an hour or 2 and never returned to it

ОХОТА! разрушил, круто еще побегай и бей босса, потом башня, повторить 3 раза... весело... Советовать не могу, по началу игра интересна, а потом начинаешь замечать кучу косяков (пример, щит который бросаем, чтобы собирать ресурс, разбивать лампы для сундуков, после броска отправляется на КД, зачем? а чтобы ты как дурак стоял и ждал по 30 сек с этими банками у сундуков), кривая очередь ударов, прерывать ее нельзя, ты натыкал кучу действий и видишь, что тебе прилетит, жди пока очередь пройдет и тебе прилетит, всегда прилетит, мобы... это отдельное, они просто одинаковы, меняется расцветка и все, а тактика боя одна и та же. После 10 часов становится скучно, хоть и брал по скидке, она того не стоит, скучная, кривая по механикам, ужасная копия ДС (ну видно что пытались брать идеи, так как на слешер не похоже от слова совсем, ДМС этому подтверждение)… Expand

    Godfall is at its best when it makes you feel powerful, and it's really damn mediocre otherwise. Let's start with the story...Yikes. It's so painfully generic. The voice acting is sleepy. The characters are forgettable. Generic family betrayal story where brother kills brother to become a god or whatever. Good brother ACTUALLY LIVED THO and now he's pissed. He wants revenge on his bad god-brother for being mean. They introduce this tired, trope-filled story and don't bother giving it a conclusion. The credits roll and the story ends with a whimper. I can get over a bad story if the gameplay is solid. Godfall godfalls [heh heh] short of that as well

    The gameplay started out fun. There are plenty of weapons to choose from, techniques to learn, loot to collect etc. I enjoyed running into a mob and unleashing every ability I had on them in a flurry of particle effects and then dispatching them one by one with finishing moves [which are kinda lame sometimes because there's no blood in this game]. The gameplay loop of gaining new moves, weapons, and armor is fun for about 3 hours. At that point, you've experienced everything Godfall has to offer. It just doesn't change at all. The only thing that changes is the length of enemy health bars. You'll get all this crazy loot (which is your typical rarity, power, perk situation), but you won't care because it doesn't offer anything in the way of character building or anything that changes the way you interact with the game's world.

    What a big tacky world it is. Everything is gilded, gold, glossy, and/or full of texture but you can't really explore any of it. It's such a pretty game, but it doesn't really matter because there are no meaningful interactions with any of it. It feels like wandering through a tile set of hallways, arenas, and more hallways clearing mobs until you fight a boss in a battle of attrition for 15 minutes. There's a huge dissonance between the player character and the world in which they navigate. It honestly felt like a mobile game sometimes because it was so limited in scope. That really describes my experience with Godfall best. It was just limited. The loot, the combat, the world; everything was just too superficial to leave any lasting impression. Four hours in and it was an absolute chore to progress. No AAA game I've played in recent memory is as repetitive or lacking in identity as this one.

    Technically it's a bit of a mess as well. I had one crash that was so bad, my ps5 just completely turned itself off. No warning... Just, boom, power off. I've never had that happen with any other game; just Godfall. Lots of weird little animation bugs, teleporting, menus not appearing, respawn issues and the like really rubbed salt in the wound.

    Lastly, I have to say a very fine 'eff you' to the UI devs who decided against having a persistent cursor in the equipment menu. Every time you equip something, you're brought back to the equipment menu with your cursor AT THE TOP OF THE MENU. That means every time you equip something [which is all the time] you have 3-4 extra button presses since the cursor doesn't stay where you left it. I know that sounds small, but trust me it will absolutely drive you crazy if you are cursed enough to spend any amount of extended time with this game.

    excellent game, totally wronged in the comments. It has a very nice graphic, it doesn't deliver as much graphical potential as the demon souls on ps5, but it is very beautiful. Intense and challenging combat is a looter, so obviously it will be repetitive and drop based. I had bugs in the matchmaking server which is in beta. I've platinum the game and I don't intend to stop. Sad to seeexcellent game, totally wronged in the comments. After so long of not being able to play with my friends because we would end up on massively different end game strengths, they now want people to pay them for a new expansion that has the exact same issue.... No...

    This issue reflects on Gearbox Publishing also, why would you keep publishing these expansions when the base game is broken. if i thought i could get it, i would be asking for a refund right now.    … Expand

    Honestly this game I played months ago and couldn't bring myself to finish. It was completely forgettable and the combat adds nothing new to action gameplay. It looks decent and has fast loading screens, but the voice acting was garbage and the maps are uninspired.

I love running through these dungeons, taking down the main target, and just changing up my gear…. Certain items you find in the world you can use to actually unlock new armours that have their own special fury attack.. I loved trying new characters and armours out.. though I would’ve loved to be able to copy my augments like I am with my weapon loadout hwne I want to try somebody new.. but these different armorus encourage you to build up and save different weapons, as you might be in a st that specializes in fire type weapons that cause burn damage, but theres and armour set that gives boosts for poison, or chilling damage.. I just love the idea of creating different legendary loadous for each of th armour sets… so no matter what, loot is worth searching for much like a borderlands game, even if your satisfied with what you have… these unwanted items just make you more and more powerful… so what are the bad things in godfall?
    Simply the destiny aspect, Godfall wants oyu to and even forces you to go back and replay missions to progress its story, it wants you going back and exploring the same 3 worlds over and ver again, and while the game is beautiful, the worlds aren’t really fun to explore…
    Traverse throough and kill everything in your way? Absolutely… seek out adventure on your own? Not so much.. its an eye roll when its time to grab these items from earth, water, and air relm before you can take on an areas boss, I would’ve much rather had a straightforward rpg game here and went back to explore by choice…
    Other than that Godfall is an absolute blast, this game is great and the rest of the world are a bunch of haters…
    Godfall is addictive and fun.. and while the world is lacking in any want to explore beyond credit roll, you can.. but im personally happy with an 8-10 hour long god building session…

    Cherchant un jeu en multi, j’ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à parcourir ce jeu avec deux amis. Graphiquement très joli, le jeu s’avère particulièrement fun en raison de son système de combat assez technique mais surtout grâce à l’ascension de la tour. Certes, le jeu est imparfait (bug par ci par là, durée de vie assez faible) mais il mérite qu’on s’y attarde.

    Very underrated game. Its a unique loot 'n slash game. BEATUTFUL graphics, awesome abilities and a decent perk tree. Tons of unique weapons and items to help your build. If you enjoy a game with beautiful graphics and just solid combat, this game is for you.

Go with performance mode trust me. The different realms are gorgeous to look at but lack in small cosmetic details. It's a grind looting but can be well worth it for your specific play style. Eventually you can buy loot from a shop keep. Not real world money. This game does not provide a deep story but it's good enough to be just interested enough to play. It's really one of those, hey the bad guy did this so we're gonna do that and this has to work because we don't have any other options. The story is passable enough to make it worthwhile. Don't expect a lot of banter between characters because it's just you for the most part. Now the meat and potatoes is the actual gameplay. It has a bit of a learning curve, getting the timing down for blocks and counters takes a little getting used to but the fights are truly fun. Especially the boss fights. There seems to be a lot of back and forth between the same realms so that can make it kind of a slog at times. The graphics are beautiful, this indie company did a great job there. Needs work on story but has great gameplay. My recommendation is check it for sure but catch it on sale. It's worthy of your time but not at $70. Catch it on sale at $35 or $40 and enjoy! This game deserves much higher than a 0 or 1 like some people have posted. I'm personally looking forward to how they improve on the game and see where this really goes. Hope this helps!… Expand

    The combat is excellent and fluid, with a few diverse builds relying on different mechanics. The story is dull, but not completely uninteresting, graphics are great. I have yet to arrive to the endgame, but so far I am very surprised by the bad reviews, as the game in its current state (April 21) does not deserve that at all, I am really having a lot of fun.

For me post game is way more fun than I saw any reviews of. You can replay the boss fights via dreamstones and the tower of ascension (sorta like Mortal Kombat tower of fighting waves).     Godfall doesn’t do anything egregious or worse than any of the other disappointing looters of this generation, but it does almost everything equally as badly in a weird perfect balance. This is what makes it so frustrating. There is definite potential for a gem inside this game, but it’s so busy with being a downright average-at-best looter that it loses all semblance of actual personality, a key component to maintaining a looter game. Impressively non-existent story, incredibly derivative art, classes which mean absolutely nothing, a deceptively small loot pool, technical issues up the wazoo, terrible endgame design and a horrific netcode all add up to a visually pleasing but soulless affair that can’t even begin to escape being categorised as anything more than a flashy tech demo.

    After wrapping Godfall, I was left with the feeling that it’s going to be a one-and-done. I can’t see myself doing its endless trials or repeating the endgame boss fights — it just doesn’t feel like there’s anything more to work towards. The graphics are great and the combat is enjoyable, but it gets samey too quickly and ends up as a typical next-generation launch game that will be soon forgotten.
