    I think it's scummy to release a special demo version of the game on PlayStation plus. Just based upon the "challenger edition", the game isn't very good.

    They don't present the story very well, so be prepared to play for 8 hours and still not understand what the hell is going on with that. It's badly explained, badly put forward and even by reading the codex information it's as if they heard a story then tried to replicate it but missed the best parts. Imagine being told about back to the future without the delorean, marty or doc. There is no excitement, no motivation bar raising stats and fighting the same things with slightly higher stats. I mean gaming is all about this but... never quite so in your face obvious as this. it drains any hope you have for next generation gaming.

    The game is pretty to look at, and it's very linear... i mean i'd tell you to explore but with the lack of map button (i mean seriously) you might end up getting lost and going in circles and it's just repetitive **** anyway (as pretty as it is, it's all just copy n paste with maybe different colours for different realms). The maps aren't even well thought out which is why there isn't a map button, the disappointment then would be much more real.

    Game throws a lot at you without really explaining anything, it'll tell you about spirit tethers and rubbish but not show you what one looks like.. so there's guesswork and hitting stuff involved at the beginning (honestly the tutorial and starting missions afterwards are badly thought out and will put you off the story part of the game anyway).

    You kill things (maybe like what 20 different enemy types which are then repeated with slightly different colours of textures). Hack and slash. Then loot 99% of useless junk, and one upgrade out of a 100 things. Then continue. It's not fun. it's not enjoyable, and it'll just waste away your life. Do anything else but play this.

    There's different armours to craft but that means grinding the mats to make them, and they're not all that different. in this game like destiny you'd have thought they'd make them a little more original and standalone with maybe classes (like tank, dps... or even paladin, mage etc) but really bar maybe a couple of things they all play and perform the same way)

    expect a lot of disappointment with this game and if you got just the PS Plus edition you'll only know disappointment. DO NOT upgrade to the story content, you aren't missing anything.... there is no real game.. it's JUST terrible. ALL Over.

    It had potential. HAD being the operative word. If anthem was never released. THIS would be the anthem. I'm sure the developer thanks the gods that anthem exists or this would have surpassed it in terms of quality, scale and terrible gameplay.

    there is nothing redeemable here. nothing at all. it's not even open world, welcome to instanced 1999 rubbish even with all the tech available, it's basically just a drip fed game that has so few stuff in it, it's all just copy n paste with maybe slight different variations of the same stuff with different stats.     My review and score used to be positive and at 8 but after reaching the endgame the already barely thought out bosses are such a chore to fight. Godfalls bosses will literally stun lock you till you die and this is said by a hardcore dark souls fan. A looter game is supposed to come together at its endgame but if i cant even attack them whats the f***in point? Some beautiful cut scenes with lore would’ve saved this game for sure. The few scenes I’ve seen are beautiful and they should’ve capitalized on that. They put a bunch of readable lore which is super lazy. Other than that the gameplay is barely decent. Nothing ground breaking here. It’s not worth $69.99. I’m pretty upset about that price tag. I’d say this game is at best $49.99 and that’s being generous. I hope we get some free content or updates because if not this game is the biggest rip off since Anthem and it’s 10 more dollars!… Expand

    This game is an absolute fraud. The summary is: run, kill & loot. Repeat it endlessly. No plot, no story, nothing. Just a generic game with lots of saturated colors. It is worth 15$ or get it free in PS plus in few months.

    70 $ for this garbage 76$ after taxes for a game that's dull and boring if you want a real launch game demon souls and spider man is so much better. Waste of time. If you really want to play this I advise you to wait till it goes on sale in a month

    Game optimization is just awful. My PC specs: GTX 1080 TI, Intel i7 7700K, corsair DRAM 32 GB 3000 MHz, Samsung EVO 850 SSD. On a PC with these specs, the game runs only with minimal graphics settings. The game client does not work stably, constantly crashes with the error "GPU crashed or d3d device removed". Severe problems with lighting in the game, everything is heavily overexposed. IGame optimization is just awful.     Super Buggy, will crash when trying to play with friends, the mobs will freeze randomly, skills will get stuck, Doesn't register complete missions. A waste of money. Have yet to play in a session without bugs.

    Souls like games are normally hard as you have to know when and where to move or dodge. This game I would not call hard however just pure cheese as it just throws countless adds and projectiles at you with no mechanics to possibly deal with them. Its not enjoyable to get through this cheese, you are only glad that its over and hope to not return to it shortly. Being overwhelmed makes you feel as weak as I remember feeling in torchlight 3, nothing near the power they intend for your character to portray. You just can get infinitely interrupted or knocked down with no opportunity to stand back up occasionally. The gameplay would have to be significantly reworked for this to be considered fun.

    The loot is global drops. I am not sure why anyone would thing to do this after the great success at Anthem doing the same thing.

    It's still pretty buggy having some enemies refuse to spawn requiring you to leave the mission and restart. Once all enemies just did not attack me and just let me slowly whack away at them. If there were zero bugs however, it still is a rather poor gameplay experience.

    I paid a premium to play a game that made use of ps5's feature such as haptic feedback etc. This game delivered exactly 0% of that and while it remains that way my score will not improve. It is a lazy ps5 port with zero effort beyond unreal's automatic button assignment. I am massively disappointed by it.

    AAA Cashgrab, focusing on nothing but "oh shiny, oh wow particle effects! 10/10" reviewers.

    Developers hopped on the $70 price-hike train, charging more money for less and less quality. No, your next-gen shine and particle effects leap is not worth an additional $10. Mods do the same thing for 10-year-old games free of charge.

    The game is poor quality, combat is copy-paste and boring. Maps are copy-paste with different filters (Oh Shiny, still!). Basically, it's a decorated hallway simulator.

    No campaign at all. AT ALL. Farm the same 5-minute missions (go here, kill that) 20 times to collect tokens to unlock doors (mobile game???). Open the big door a couple of times, the game is over. Oh, and you talk to two different NPC's about how bad the bad guy is every once in a while.

    It's bad guys. Really, it's pathetically bad. The fact that this was hoisted as a true next-gen AAA experience during all this time (and NOBODY at Sony realized how truly awful this was) is concerning, and a bad, bad sign for this new generation of games. Also, just goes to show that Sony doesn't actually have a single clue about what a videogame actually is.

    Avoid. Avoid. And if somebody gives it a 10/10, avoid them too. It's either an attempt to combat buyer's remorse or an employee.    … Expand

    This game already was so bad. And now it is even worse. With this PS Plus version of Godfall, that lacks a single player campaign. And you want ME to PAY for campaign with "Deluxe Upgrade"??? This is such a spit-in-the-face, both from SONY and Godfall dev.
    Rating 0 Score untill they give us Normal Edition.

    I have a hard time playing with it. I paid for it at full price and asked for an at least partial refund several times. Maybe I was influenced by the critics. Although the graphics department is very good.

    There is no one sucks.

    Ill young on 0 for this. This month they give It for free challenge edition instead of a complete edition.

    This game was crap...and remains crap.

    Game is so **** bugged, it’s unplayable i’ve played like 1 or 2 hours and it’s alteady crashed like 5 times and other times just started to bug out and gave me a blue screen where the only option was to shut it down and lose all my progress, now i’m done **** this trash game, i want my money back, stupid scammers!

    This is free for PS plus, but it's a scam. They have the story locked so you can't play without purchasing. Scamming PS plus members. Thanks for allowing this Sony. Only part of the game is free and no one plays the end game.

    Gearbox has the Gaul to give players/ payers a demo of this game for the ps5 game in the December 2021 line up for psplus I really was looking forward to playing this game but now I wouldn’t play it if it were free

    Godfall doesn’t do anything egregious or worse than any of the other disappointing looters of this generation, but it does almost everything equally as badly in a weird perfect balance. This is what makes it so frustrating. There is definite potential for a gem inside this game, but it’s so busy with being a downright average-at-best looter that it loses all semblance of actual personality, a key component to maintaining a looter game. Impressively non-existent story, incredibly derivative art, classes which mean absolutely nothing, a deceptively small loot pool, technical issues up the wazoo, terrible endgame design and a horrific netcode all add up to a visually pleasing but soulless affair that can’t even begin to escape being categorised as anything more than a flashy tech demo.

    After wrapping Godfall, I was left with the feeling that it’s going to be a one-and-done. I can’t see myself doing its endless trials or repeating the endgame boss fights — it just doesn’t feel like there’s anything more to work towards. The graphics are great and the combat is enjoyable, but it gets samey too quickly and ends up as a typical next-generation launch game that will be soon forgotten.
