    They don't present the story very well, so be prepared to play for 8 hours and still not understand what the hell is going on with that. It's badly explained, badly put forward and even by reading the codex information it's as if they heard a story then tried to replicate it but missed the best parts. Imagine being told about back to the future without the delorean, marty or doc. There is no excitement, no motivation bar raising stats and fighting the same things with slightly higher stats. I mean gaming is all about this but... never quite so in your face obvious as this. it drains any hope you have for next generation gaming.

    The game is pretty to look at, and it's very linear... i mean i'd tell you to explore but with the lack of map button (i mean seriously) you might end up getting lost and going in circles and it's just repetitive **** anyway (as pretty as it is, it's all just copy n paste with maybe different colours for different realms). The maps aren't even well thought out which is why there isn't a map button, the disappointment then would be much more real.

    Game throws a lot at you without really explaining anything, it'll tell you about spirit tethers and rubbish but not show you what one looks like.. so there's guesswork and hitting stuff involved at the beginning (honestly the tutorial and starting missions afterwards are badly thought out and will put you off the story part of the game anyway).

    You kill things (maybe like what 20 different enemy types which are then repeated with slightly different colours of textures). Hack and slash. Then loot 99% of useless junk, and one upgrade out of a 100 things. Then continue. It's not fun. it's not enjoyable, and it'll just waste away your life. Do anything else but play this.

    There's different armours to craft but that means grinding the mats to make them, and they're not all that different. in this game like destiny you'd have thought they'd make them a little more original and standalone with maybe classes (like tank, dps... or even paladin, mage etc) but really bar maybe a couple of things they all play and perform the same way)

    expect a lot of disappointment with this game and if you got just the PS Plus edition you'll only know disappointment. DO NOT upgrade to the story content, you aren't missing anything.... there is no real game.. it's JUST terrible. ALL Over.

    It had potential. HAD being the operative word. If anthem was never released. THIS would be the anthem. I'm sure the developer thanks the gods that anthem exists or this would have surpassed it in terms of quality, scale and terrible gameplay.

    there is nothing redeemable here. nothing at all. it's not even open world, welcome to instanced 1999 rubbish even with all the tech available, it's basically just a drip fed game that has so few stuff in it, it's all just copy n paste with maybe slight different variations of the same stuff with different stats.     I wasted 25 bucks to buy an used copy of this trash game. One the most boring and repetitive game i've played in the last decade. Also spamming L3 to run every 10 seconds is not good aswell, it's obnoxious. Repetitive, repetitive repetitive. And the plot is weak as hell. Stay away from it.

    For a game that boasts flashy affects, a semi good story, and a feel of the game after just an hour, that's all you get. There is hope for the story but the gameplay is very repetitive. When it comes to the loot that you want, you have to spend hours grinding for the piece of equipment that you want and once you finally get it, you'd be lucky to get one with decent stats for your current level.

    The game was already not excelling at all at what it has to offer, but Sony decided to make it worse by only giving PS+ users a lite version that doesn’t make sense at all. Sometimes I really do not get it! Not a big loss anyway, I was already starting to feel bored at the end of the tutorial.

    To me godfall is the definitive meh game.
    It's not bad but not good either, combat is alright but nothing special(and a little confusing at first trying aim using a cross-hair in a strictly melee focused game) , and the cut-scenes somehow come off as ridiculous and overly serious at the same time.
    Like I said it's not a bad game but I also wouldn't recommend playing it.

    This is free for PS plus, but it's a scam. They have the story locked so you can't play without purchasing. Scamming PS plus members. Thanks for allowing this Sony. Only part of the game is free and no one plays the end game.

    If ya want a looter, play destiny, if ya want hack’n slash play Devil may cry, if ya want souls like, Bloodborne dark souls or hell even the other ps plus free mortal shell is better then this half baked over priced style over substance gacha waste of time

Got this free with PS Plus, you start at a max level account with everything possible already unlocked, and you're only allowed to navigate around a tiny room.     Initially bought the game at launch, then my ps5 died, thought he champion Ed would be cool, then learned there no content...just pass on this it's short,shallow and it's like a budget game for full price..

    I have a hard time playing with it. I paid for it at full price and asked for an at least partial refund several times. Maybe I was influenced by the critics. Although the graphics department is very good.

    There is no one sucks.

    Ill young on 0 for this. This month they give It for free challenge edition instead of a complete edition.

    This game was crap...and remains crap.

    Unfortunately the game seemed like a hack n slash mobile phone game ..although it has fantastic visuals n does make great use of the ps5 ,also the audio is of very high quality ..but I couldn't tolerate the game my self had an hour or 2 and never returned to it

    Арт красивый, к внешнему виду нет претензий, а вот все остальное просто ужасно, видно много попыток копировать дарк соулс, но как и многие мы возьмем идею, а разбираться что и как работает в Дс не будем. ОХОТА! разрушил, круто еще побегай и бей босса, потом башня, повторить 3 раза... весело... Советовать не могу, по началу игра интересна, а потом начинаешь замечать кучу косяков (пример, щит который бросаем, чтобы собирать ресурс, разбивать лампы для сундуков, после броска отправляется на КД, зачем? а чтобы ты как дурак стоял и ждал по 30 сек с этими банками у сундуков), кривая очередь ударов, прерывать ее нельзя, ты натыкал кучу действий и видишь, что тебе прилетит, жди пока очередь пройдет и тебе прилетит, всегда прилетит, мобы... это отдельное, они просто одинаковы, меняется расцветка и все, а тактика боя одна и та же. После 10 часов становится скучно, хоть и брал по скидке, она того не стоит, скучная, кривая по механикам, ужасная копия ДС (ну видно что пытались брать идеи, так как на слешер не похоже от слова совсем, ДМС этому подтверждение)… Expand

There is nothing to do but go to the same 4 places and kill the same enemies. It absolutely saddens me how much this game has disappointed me in the narrative side of it since I was looking really forward to it.

    Anyway, you    It's only pros are it's fun satisfying gameplay and gorgeous graphics & designs. However, I was EXTREMELY disappointed to find out that there's basically no story. There is nothing to do but go to the same 4 places and kill the same enemies. It absolutely saddens me how much this game has disappointed me in the narrative side of it since I was looking really forward to it.

    Anyway, you will have a great time with the gameplay so I recommend you to get the game when it's $10 or less or just rent it for a while BUT don't expect ANYTHING out of the story. The fact that they tried to sell this game for $70 dollars is an absolute scummy move that reduced my rating down to two more points    … Expand

    Its major downfall is that the Dev team insists on working towards new content, THAT THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR!!!... when they have a laundry list of bugs that NEED to be fixed. the major one being that skill points have NEVER been assigned properly and you could finish the game and begin endgame with anywhere between 48 and 72 skill points to assign! its astonishing that they acknowledge the issue and neglected to fix it for 2 years! 2 large expansions and they have done nothing to fix it.

    i will not be purchasing a game from 'Counterplay Games' again as they dont seem to care what they produce or for the end user, only lining their pockets. After so long of not being able to play with my friends because we would end up on massively different end game strengths, they now want people to pay them for a new expansion that has the exact same issue.... No...

    This issue reflects on Gearbox Publishing also, why would you keep publishing these expansions when the base game is broken. if i thought i could get it, i would be asking for a refund right now.    … Expand

    This game was meant to show off the graphical power of the PS5 at launch and that was about it. Souless campaign and bare bones combat system with the same generic enemies over again can't save this game from what it set out to be. I felt no connection to the world nor the characters throughout the game. It was a struggle to continue to get to the end. There is no mission variety, in fact when free roaming any world all you do is activate a beacon that leads to 3 garbage puzzles and once you finish them, the game doesn't give you anything else to do except warp back to the main hub so you can reload to the same area to do the same thing again for little reward.

    At the the time of this review there are several major bugs that make the game unplayable. These vary from not letting you attack enemies, to not being able to open chests and collect resources to being permanently unable to complete the free roam beacons.

    There is some potential here and with a lot of work, this could be a decent game. At present this game is not ready for prime time and was rushed to release. Avoid.    … Expand

    Game is so **** bugged, it’s unplayable i’ve played like 1 or 2 hours and it’s alteady crashed like 5 times and other times just started to bug out and gave me a blue screen where the only option was to shut it down and lose all my progress, now i’m done **** this trash game, i want my money back, stupid scammers!

    Les graphismes sont plutôt beaux et le jeu de couleur et luminosité sont bien rendu. Les décors sont plutôt bien travailler et d'ailleurs c'est pour ma part ce qu'il y a de mieux dans le jeu.
    Voilà ça s'arrête là. Pas d'autre point positif.
    Et le gros point noir c'est clairement le gameplay, qu'est ce que c'est lourd avec une sorte de sensation de crispation des persos. Et ça devient très ennuyant tellement c'est toujours pareil. Il n'y a aucune variété dans la façon de jouer.
    Concernant les contenus bah c'est quasi vide, les menus ne servent quasi à rien alors qu'il y a un coté RPG et le peu de temps que l'on passe dans les menus c'est pas du tout bien foutu, pas instinctif, pas ergonomique. Il y a quasi rien à faire sauf taper, taper, taper. A si les système de butin qui aurait pu être attrayant avec un coté prenant, mais non, on s'en moque assez vite.
    Le scénar est quasi inexistant, cherchez pas à trouver une histoire ou une narration, elle est réduit à peau de chagrin, quelques passage pour dire qu'il se passe des choses mais c'est tout. Et c'est d'un basique...
    Au niveau de l'IA alors là c'est au niveau des pâquerettes. A ce demander si ils en on une. L'IA ce limite quasi à ne faire que taper, les esquives, protections ou même changement de patern sont quasi inexistant.
    Le jeu à quelques bug. Par moment j'ai eu les menus qui se sont superposés, lors de baston des coups passer au travers de l'ennemis, j'ai eu aussi par 2 fois un ennemis qui se retrouve bloquer dans un mur et l'autre les jambes dans le sol. Très drôle d'ailleurs de le voir courir sans pouvoir bouger.
    Et dernier défaut, la fluidité. Alors là c'est pas normal pour un jeu qui est quand même assez vide. Par moment on sent vraiment la chute de fps, surtout avec les pouvoirs/combo.
    En conclusion un jeu vraiment très très très moyen. Limite décevant surtout pour un AAA.

And holy crap, the constant stuttering. Every 15-20 seconds the game stutters, on a couple of occasions ending with a crash. This really is an empty shell of a game that has no real story, combat that falls flat and completely unbalanced toward the end and leaves you with nothing but a regret for wasting your time with it. At least that’s where I stand. I have ZERO intention of finishing this or even playing again. All I can say is THANK GOD I bought a used hard copy. Now I can at least sell it and get some of my money back.… Expand

    I liked the game at first, I REALLY did BUT the fact it’s story really isn’t cohesive, it’s short, and the god awful performance issues, especially in the post game tower of trials, I have to rate this a solid 1. It can look good all day but if the game is crap it’s crap. Call it what it is.

    This game has some stellar graphics, and also pretty fluid combat mechanics. My biggest gripe is that because there is no matchmaking. The game is advertised as an online only 3 player co-op looter. The bosses are designed for 3 players. Yet there is no in game matchmaking. This makes you mostly end up playing solo which can be extra difficult for some boss fights. GAME NEEDS MATCHMAKING!!

The content is all recycled and there is nowhere near enough. The world is hollow and uninteresting. The NPCs total 2 and might as well not even be there. You would be better off getting quests from aTerrible value for money. This was my first experience of a "next gen" title and I I was thoroughly disappointed. No matchmaking and if you are playing in Australia, forget multiplayer as the servers are in the US so enemies, allies and even your own character will pop all over the map.

    TL;DR: If you somehow enjoyed Anthem and/or Marvel Avengers, then you definitely WON'T enjoy this. Anthem and Marvel Avengers we're mediocre quality at best but at least it had something redeemable to go with the bad qualities. This one does not have any redeemable qualities.

    Developers hopped on the $70 price-hike train, charging more money for less and less quality. No, your next-gen shine and particle effects leap is not worth an additional $10. Mods do the same thing for 10-year-old games free of charge.

    The game is poor quality, combat is copy-paste and boring. Maps are copy-paste with different filters (Oh Shiny, still!). Basically, it's a decorated hallway simulator.

    No campaign at all. AT ALL. Farm the same 5-minute missions (go here, kill that) 20 times to collect tokens to unlock doors (mobile game???). Open the big door a couple of times, the game is over. Oh, and you talk to two different NPC's about how bad the bad guy is every once in a while.

    It's bad guys. Really, it's pathetically bad. The fact that this was hoisted as a true next-gen AAA experience during all this time (and NOBODY at Sony realized how truly awful this was) is concerning, and a bad, bad sign for this new generation of games. Also, just goes to show that Sony doesn't actually have a single clue about what a videogame actually is.

I didn't care to finish the story, but I felt compelled to having purchased the game for $125AUD (ridiculously overpriced).     The graphics were nice, but the game sufferered frequent frame rate drops regardless of playing on fidelity or performance modes.

    The valorplate and weapon designs were aesthetically impressive and unique, but had negligible functional differences, so there was no real incentive for obtaining them aside from collecting them.

    The different realms looked cool, but we're functionally all the same, and the extent of exploration involved running through corridors collecting things conveniently placed seemingly everywhere, so there was never a challenge to obtain resources. Also where was the fire realm?!?!

    Over the course of the short campaign the game crashed 4 times, and bugged out a few other times resulting in missions needing to be abandoned and restarted.

    The combat was basic, clunky and unresponsive. I was constantly having to press buttons multiple times to get the corresponding action to work; e.g. shield and healing functions. Multitasking was impossible as every animation needed to completed before allowing a new action to be done; e.g. you basically had to stand still to heal, you couldn't dodge or block once commited to an attack. These issues weren't a huge deal during regular combat waves, but they made boss fights incredibly frustrating and unenjoyable experiences.

    Speaking of boss fights, these seemed to play out inconsistently. At times there was zero consequence for dieing as the battle would just resume with the boss having the same amount of health within the checkpoint, while other times the boss health would fully replenish without reason.

    Overall the game was a huge disappointment. I really wanted to like the game and I tried to keep a positive mindset toward it, but in the end I couldn't. The game has no future playability and so I'll be trading it in this weekend before it becomes worthless.    … Expand

    This game is an absolute fraud. The summary is: run, kill & loot. Repeat it endlessly. No plot, no story, nothing. Just a generic game with lots of saturated colors. It is worth 15$ or get it free in PS plus in few months.

    This game doesn't even worth 10 bucks, it looked really cool at the previews and trailers and I was looking for something to fill the void after two years of playing Warframe and decided to quit.     All of that would be passable if the combat was good but it sucks.
    I was amazed by how much it doesn't feel intuitive, the animations are super long and are not cancel-able, I just have to sit there while I watch the enemy throwing a punch while I can't do anything just because I decided to do a heavy attack, so frustrating and clunky, you can't even parry in the middle of an animation WTF???

    There are some cool mechanics like the soulshatter and weakpoints but when the combat feels so bad and control lacking, what's the point?

    Variety and loot is also non-existent as most of the plates have the same stats with different names but all revolve around damage per sec like bleed or chill but the play style is basically the same and I was encouraged to play with the plate I have the gear with the stat that boosts it's damage per second with no substantial depth and thought about creating cretin builds that will "feel" good or just different.

    Visually, the game looks nice, art wise, but after a while it feels like too much MSG on your food you can't even taste what's it made of anymore.

    Buying this excuse of a game was a huge mistake and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, it feels like the devs were lazy when creating it and just repeated a few elements with a different visual design, extremely disappointing.

    I gave it a 3 and not 0 just because there are some cool ideas and the skill tree is ok, but it doesn't matter when the gameplay feels so bad.

    I wish I could get a refund...

    Godfall doesn’t do anything egregious or worse than any of the other disappointing looters of this generation, but it does almost everything equally as badly in a weird perfect balance. This is what makes it so frustrating. There is definite potential for a gem inside this game, but it’s so busy with being a downright average-at-best looter that it loses all semblance of actual personality, a key component to maintaining a looter game. Impressively non-existent story, incredibly derivative art, classes which mean absolutely nothing, a deceptively small loot pool, technical issues up the wazoo, terrible endgame design and a horrific netcode all add up to a visually pleasing but soulless affair that can’t even begin to escape being categorised as anything more than a flashy tech demo.

    After wrapping Godfall, I was left with the feeling that it’s going to be a one-and-done. I can’t see myself doing its endless trials or repeating the endgame boss fights — it just doesn’t feel like there’s anything more to work towards. The graphics are great and the combat is enjoyable, but it gets samey too quickly and ends up as a typical next-generation launch game that will be soon forgotten.
