There are two parts to Funko Fusion. The fan service aspect works great offering fans what they would expect from their favorite franchises, regardless about how they feel towards Funko Pop. The gameplay itself is way too repetitive and it feels like the developers invested more effort in nailing down some of the worlds and neglected the gameplay part. Funko Pop can be considered a first shy step made in the right direction, but it still has a long way to go before it can be mentioned in the same page as the LEGO titles. We’ll have to see if there's going to be a sequel that corrects the hiccups of the first title.

If you can tolerate backtracking, a bit of repetitiveness, and a fragmented narrative, Funko Fusion might appeal to you due to its sheer volume of content, its LEGO-esque gameplay, and its cinephile verve.

That lack of co-op at launch is a baffling omission but otherwise this is a fun evolution of the Lego games, that’s superior to them in a number of ways.

Your mileage with Funko Fusion hinges on your interest in the worlds it pastiches, but there’s enough charm here that even if you’re tangentially invested, you’ll have a good time.

Fun-loving, colourful and jam-packed with a random selection of well-known franchises, I really wanted to love Funko Fusion. Indeed, there's a lot to like, and exploring its worlds (and finding its absolute mass of collectibles) is plenty enjoyable enough. It just puts too much emphasis on combat, and fighting your way through hordes of enemies time and time again soon gets tiresome.

Funko Fusion might be tailored to Pop! aficionados but anyone who enjoys these franchises or the LEGO type games may get a kick out of this title. There’s also some laugh out loud moments in all this craziness and hopefully 10:10 Games will add additional DLC content and hopefully more franchises will allow their copyrights to be part of this world. DC vs Marvel? That would be amazing!

There’s no getting around the feeling that Funko Fusion springs from the same genre gene pool as the Lego video games. Visually, the game is a treat and the levels effectively reference their source material. Funko Fusion isn’t without humor or clever touches, but its combat is excessively repetitious and fused to some awkward, fun-killing mechanics. Underneath those bobbleheads are the bones of a good game that never quite reaches the surface.

Funko Fusion is a brilliant take on the tried-and-true LEGO formula, but for a slightly older audience. The combat is fun, the humour is on point and the selection of characters is impressive. But limited multiplayer options and rough technical shortcomings keep it from reaching it's true potential. With time, it can absolutely get better, but for now, I'm willing to give 10:10 more time to cook, they're definitely onto something.

Unlike the actual figures, your enjoyment of Funko Fusion isn't just going depend on whether you like the franchises or characters that made the cut. You have to be a fan of the constant backtracking and revisiting of worlds needed to unlock the better secrets. You need to be forgiving of some of the faults in the combat system. You also have to be fine with this being a strictly single-player game and patient enough to wait for the complete online-only multiplayer experience to be available. If you are, then you'll have fun with the game. Otherwise, you might want to wait to see if patches smooth out some of the existing issues.

Funko Fusion is a cute game that combines popular franchises with Funko POP! figurines, but suffers from repetitive gameplay, technical problems and weak combat mechanics. Although visually appealing, the game doesn't offer enough depth to hold the long-term interest of most players.

Even with the frustration of the near absence of an obvious collecting element, Funko Fusion is essentially an average game in terms of both its combat and exploration mechanics, although it does offer some good adventurous passages. Its biggest problem is a certain identity crisis, with questionable choices of franchises having little to do with each other and complicating the establishment of a cohesive tone for this project full of potential.

Despite its currently buggy state, Funko Fusion is a fun filled pop culture love letter, with a multitude of references to the movies that feature and some more surprise cameos along the way. Gameplay is simple yet effective, making it a perfect way to switch off for a couple of hours while scratching the collectathon itch. That being said, due to bugs causing me to have to reload levels and some navigational issues, I feel as though I have barely seen the best of what Funko Fusion has to offer. There are more secrets to find and areas to explore, and hopefully with some updates it will be a much smoother experience.

Without the titular brand figures, there’s nothing that stands out for Funko Fusion. It’s a platformer with collectibles, enemies to fight, and the occasional puzzle to solve. There’s an adventure to be had and an overarching story, but nothing you wouldn’t find in any other adventure game. The experience is ordinary unless you are in awe of the Funko recreations and want to see the figures come to life.

Funko Fusion feels like it actively goes out of its way to ensure you don’t have fun. Despite Funko choosing a few fun properties and characters to translate to a video game, a plethora of bugs, clunky gameplay, and frustrating moments continuously hamper your ability to ever enjoy the moment. I believe there may be a good game hidden deep within Funko Fusion, but it is buried under so many issues that I doubt many players will have the patience to find it. The lack of co-op upon launch is truly baffling, as that may have been the one thing to save this experience. At minimum, I'd wait until co-op is released and a few updates have been made before checking Funko Fusion out.

Let go of your inhibitions, and Funko Fusion can be a real blast. Like a magic trick, you shouldn’t look too closely, though. Sometimes a game can be fun without being good, and Funko Fusion fits that description quite nicely.

Funko Fusion repeats mechanics over and over again in a game offer that leaves many gaps to fill. A proposal that presents worlds more pampered than others and that leaves us with the feeling that between so much shooting and hitting there was room for more.

Funko Fusion is ultimately boring, with an overly long mission structure, bland gameplay elements, and a story that comes across as pointless as to why this mixture of characters is interacting.

Funko Fusion is fun to play and its TT Games / Lego series ancestry is clear to see, but its frequent backtracking, its slightly off comedy and the way some franchises get less love than others mean that fun is often experienced with an asterisk. It's worth a play, as long as you don't mind collectathons and replaying levels.

The Funko Pop phenomenon finally arrives in the world of videogames and, taking its cue from LEGO titles, tries to reach a similar audience with simple and immediate gameplay. Unfortunately the result is not what was hoped for due to some questionable design choices and several small bugs that spoil rhythm and enjoyment. Also almost totally missing is the ‘collectibles factor’ that we hoped would be a staple of this production.

While it is almost miraculous that many of the properties in this game are represented in video game form, Funko Fusion is missing a sense of fun or satisfaction. With very little explanation of the game's mechanics, the player is left to wander from world to world, shooting endless waves of enemies, fiddling around with obtuse puzzles, pondering the universe and the point of it all.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. I collect Funko Pops and love many of the franchises represented in the game, and fully expected an experience at the same level of quality as the LEGO games. I’m also surprised that given the popularity of the Pop Yourself custom figures, the game doesn’t have any kind of character-building feature. Unfortunately, I can’t really recommend this game, you’ll probably find it as frustrating and disappointing as I did.

Funko Fusion creatively plays with various classic films and licenses, presenting fine music and humor in the process, which makes sure that part is in order. At the same time, many things are out of order. For example, the frame rate is unstable, the game has annoying bugs, it is often unclear what the objective is, and more. While the concept is good, the technical execution is very disappointing.

Funko Fusion throws everything it can on the wall with the hope that something sticks, but unfortunately for the developers and the audience alike, nothing is left on the wall after the first couple of hours. Funko Fusion is fast-paced, action-packed, and colorful, but it also lacks identity, is shallow, and is not appealing

I’m still none the wiser who Funko Fusion is for. It’s a kid’s game that’s too adult for kids, with a batch of franchises that only older fans will really appreciate, but then they’ve dialled down the difficulty, presumably to appeal to younger players. The shame of it is, with the right characters, this is a great kids game, and the Jurassic World levels only highlight that. Funko Fusion offers plenty to like, but just like its plastic-melting antagonist, it fuses too many of the wrong parts together to feel cohesive.

Funko Fusion is unfortunately not the joyous celebration of pop culture it should be, thanks to frustrating enemies and lots of dull levels.
