The hype was huge for this fnaf game, so much I think I expected too much. From security key card level 2 to 6 I ran into a sequence break, unknowingly jumped a barrier, got an ending that didn't make sense contextually and credits rolled. Reloaded for a while until giving up on trying to fix the sequence break (missions were no longer completing, companion AI not responding.) I started a new save, almost having to go out of my way to avoid sequence breaking but noticed AI were acting more aggressively then in previous playthrough, it became more challenging. Upon reaching a boss that requires interacting with stationary cannons, the game continuously freezes without warning. Reinstall does not fix this issue. I have put the game down until patching. I'm sad. TL:DR:The reports of PC version being unoptimized mirrors Playstation 5 at launch, even showing a mouse cursor before the main menu loads. It is too easy to break, making it possibly unable to finish. Waiting for a patch. Saddened. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach (or as others call it (FNAFSB) is a game a lot of people were hyped for, did it deliver the hype? Not so much.

FNAFSB released on December 16th 2021 and it contained a lot of bugs, it felt rushed, though the game definitely delivered with the graphics, everywhere you go is super beautiful in it’s habitat that ur just awe’ing in surprised of how beautiful the habitat is.

Though it contained LOTS of bugs, one bug where you jump over a fence to time travel leaving you confused, another where you get soft locked, etc, yes the company (Steel Wool) had patched some of these bugs, yet it definitely still felt rushed, The frame rate was…. Horrendous, even if you had a good PC, it would just not run correctly. Though some parts of the game were pretty awesome, the Sun/Moon part (where you have to get the security badge, ending up in monstrosity) had definitely caught my attention as the voice acting, the tension of nightmare fuel implementation was great, though I wish the game did this more, half of the game is basically a fetch quest.

Let’s talk about the characters, Roxy, Monty, Chica and Freddy give the atmosphere some tension at-least, though Vanny (Basically the new William Afton) barely did, she never had enough screen time and it disappointed me, she was the one who was supposed to hunt you down, though end up not having enough screen time, it’s really disappointing.

Let’s talk about the endings, the endings does not live up to the hype, there is barely no CONTEXT to what happens and ur just sitting there confused, yes it was an interesting way to put the endings in a comic book way on paper, but in execution? Not so much.

Let’s talk about the pricing of FNAFSB, 40$ for a game where it is buggy and felt definitely rushed, I don’t really recommend buying this for 40$, though if it’s for sale, why not buy it yourself?

    CONCLUSION

Overall, FNAFSB is okay, the graphics are beautiful, the game itself…. It’s eh, lots of bugs on release and felt rushed.

    I would give it a 5/10.

However, the people giving this game 10/10s have clearly not played it to completion. First of all, you can't. On PS5, it is currently impossible to get the good ending. Princess Quest is utterly unplayable. In order to even start it, you have to plug in a keyboard, and then the action button doesn't even work. Next criticism, the animatronic's AI. Wow they are incredible dumb. After the beginning of the game it is WAYYY too easy to juke around them or to literally hide right in front of them and they immediately forget where you are and leave. Alright, onto the biggest issue with the game on PS5. The bugs and glitches. It's bad. Really bad. I already mentioned the fact that you can't even 100% the game, however there is a lot more than that. Here is a brief list; 1.) Using the generator for the compactor before the pizza making mini game allows you to duplicate chica. 2.) Sometimes when you get jumpscared, the animatronic just disappears with the sound still playing. 3.) You can only skip a few cutscenes, not the credits. 4.) You can die during the credits if you try to skip them. 5.) The music for Monty's golf mini game isn't looped properly. 6.) If you wait on the title screen, the background disappears. These aren't all the bugs, but they are the worst ones I experience in my playthrough. It makes me so mad because I enjoy so much about this game, but it feels like SteelWool never even playtested the console port to make sure completion was at least possible. Thanks for reading. If bugs are fixed, I will ABSOLUTELY increase my rating. Expand

I really love exploring the facility and finding new easter eggs to past games, and some of the scares are genuinely scary. However, the game is riddled with bugs... most are just stupid stuff that only messes with looks, but there is enough game breaking, soft locking bugs that I've had to put the game down twice because I could not progress. After a patch on the 18th I got past the first one, just to be met with another one a few hours later. Also, the enemy A.I. is laughable at best. You can easily get away with running around carelessly without even being spotted by an animatronic or security bot. Also, the story so far is pretty bare bones which is disappointing considering how much the trailers made it seem like it was going to have a pretty decent story. It could all be at the end, which is still not good, but I guess better than not having anything. Overall, I do like this game, but the bugs are making me hate it. This would be an 8, but I have to give it a 6 because I literally cannot finish the game without restarting the whole thing (I'm at 5 AM, so this is very painful because I'm almost done!) Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. FNAF: SB is completely different from the normal series. You play as a child named Gregory, and are able to free-roam the Pizzaplex freely. However, there are a lot of restricted spaces that you can only get to later on in the game. Unfortunately, although the Pizzaplex is huge, there's a lot of clutter surrounding the areas you can visit, or some that are closed off completely restricting a lot of exploring. As Gregory, you are on a mission, along with Glamrock Freddy, to survive until 6am. There is only one night here and time only moves as you progress. With Freddy, you can climb inside him to freely walk around without attracting any of the other three animatronics. However, his battery dies rather quickly and when it does he kills you instantly. Visually, everything looks pretty. That's about as good as I can say for the game. The lore is all scattered around. An antagonist, Vanny, is a female rabbit that appears to be a major threat. However, her actually appearing is really rare. Vanessa, another antagonist and night shift security guard, also gets her role downplayed to just being mad that you're there after hours. In previous trailers, those two were meant to play a huge role in the game. In the released version, they play it very minimal. I myself have seen Vanessa once, and Vanny twice. The three other roaming animatronics (Roxy, Chica, and Monty) continue to roam the facility in random spots. There are missions to destroy them, however after you destroy them, they continue to roam. They're just broken and have a small handicap to make them easier to avoid. As you progress, you gain a flash light and then can choose either a toy blaster gun or a camera. Those two stun the animatronics (aside from Monty due to his sunglasses and later on Roxy due to missing eyes). There are also a lot of security bots roaming the place. If they catch you, they alert the other animatronics.
Now let's get to the really bad parts. The game is FLOODED with bugs and massive frame rate drops, even on the PS5.
    These include:
-Animatronics not spawning where they are supposed to
-Frame drops when sprinting and when approaching main stage
-A mission that involves flipping three switches for power, sometimes the switches just refuse to turn on
-Animatronics that chase you will sometimes get stuck, sometimes standing there without moving which can be a problem as they'll sometimes just stand in front of your hiding spot refusing to move
-Freddy getting stuck in places and being unable to help you
-the video cameras you use to check your surroundings are rather slow and sometimes freeze

It's a mediocre game, with a lot of bugs and a lot of weird lore all over. There's more to the game, but they're pretty insignificant to put here such as useless collectables. There are 6 endings to the game, but if you choose to go through with any of the good ones you are stuck with 0 save points as they are all deactivated.

As a huge FNAF fan, I was pretty disappointed. It's not a difficult game, nor is it lore friendly. A lot of characters see minimum screen time. Gregory is just a rather bland and sometimes annoying protagonist. I would wait for it to be at least a 20 dollar game, as it is not worth it at it's price currently.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I will start by saying I was really excited for this game when I first saw trailers, I had had good experiences with the five nights at Freddy’s series in the past and was excited to see what direction they took this game. Safe to say I was pretty disappointed but I still had my fun with it.
I’ll start with the graphics. I think this games graphics are gorgeous and the whole art style and theme was candy for they eyes the whole way through, everything is very colorful and shiny and nice to look it and I liked the way the game looked.
The gameplay was pretty hit or miss but sneaking past animatronics and figuring out how to move through the environment without getting caught could be fun at times, but the AI needs some work for sure. Enemies were constantly getting stuck on things and the way they moved around was awkward most of the time.
As far as story goes I think it started off strong but oh boy did it get worse and worse as the game progressed. The start had me intrigued and the motivation of needing to escape the pizzaplex seemed like it would be an enjoyable ride but oh boy was it messy. There was a huge lack of cutscenes and story beats in this game. Half the time the characters barely reacted to things that happened and when they did it was very underwhelming. Like huge story beats would happen and the characters would barely react so at the very least more voice lines could’ve made that better. And the lack of cutscenes really sucked cause there was potential for so many cool cutscenes or anything like that and there were barely any. Also this game having multiple ending felt wrong to me, it felt like the game didn’t really have one set ending and so after the game was over I felt like I needed more closure and even within like six endings I don’t feel like the game was wrapped up well at all.
And finally the characters, I did like a lot of the characters in this game. I thought all of the main animatronics were well designed and they each had a distinct personality and their voice lines were legitimately creepy sometimes. And Freddy being a guide for the player was really nice and I actually got pretty attached to his character, I definitely liked him more than the main kid. Speaking of the main kid I honestly found him very annoying and idiotic most of the time. It didn’t help that he also barely reacted to anything that happened to him even though this experience would be traumatizing for any child. He seemed like he barely cared and was more annoyed than scared the whole time. And now oh boy, last but definitely least we have Vanny, the killer rabbit lady. When the trailers first came out and this character was revealed I was so hyped to see where they would take it. She seemed creepy and the potential for her to be a looming presence throughout the game that you needed to constantly deal with and avoid seemed promising and she was one of the main reasons I was excited for the game, but oh my lord she was easily the biggest disappointment out of the ENTIRE GAME. She BARELY shows up in this game at all and the like three times she does she is the most easily avoidable least scary character ever. She had so much potential to be a creepy cool villain that constantly pursued you but she was CRIMINALLY underused and I was baffled she didn’t show up more. That was honeslty one of the biggest reasons this game disappointed me and Vanny will forever be one of the biggest missed opportunities in gaming history for me.
So overall this isn’t a bad game, but it seems sort of like a glitchy unfinished mess that has an undercooked story and especially undercooked characters. I honestly had high expectations given the game was delayed a few months from its initial release date but it was kind of a disappointment. It was fun here and there and a few sections of the game were actually pretty creepy and tense at times but honeslty I don’t even think I could recommend this game to anyone as sad as it is for me to say it. So yeah, disappointment, missed opportunity, but snippets of good ideas and concepts hide under a buggy undercooked mess.

I'm quite bittersweet about this game. Sometimes I really enjoyed it, and sometimes I was very disappointed.
    Pros:
    - Freddy as a companion was an excellent design choice, I was actually concerned about the character's fate during the game
    - The PizzaPlex is extremely big and detailed
    - The voice acting of the characters were really great, the actors did an excellent job to outline the personality of the characters
    - The cutscenes and the animations were never this good for a FNAF game

    And now the cons sadly:
    - The game is quite buggy, you can easily break it by just playing casually, the pathfinding AI is also not the greatest, the animatronics usually just teleport abruptly to player, which feels very unnatural
    - Texture seams clearly visible in certain areas
    - The mission objectives are never clear, I had to use walkthroughs at least 5 times, the player's are hardly guided about the stuff they need to do (addendum: they tried to convey the goal clearer in recent patches, but its not enough)
    - Vanny hardly appears in the game, yet she is the main antagonist
    - DualSense features broken, not working, yet clearly stated in the store page

This game has so much potenial, but even after patches there are several issues with the game. It's not a bad entry in the FNAF franchise, but has it flaws, and the player has to learn to live with them.
(I originally gave 6 points to game, but patches improved the experience a bit, and I increased my score to 7.)

The main villain has almost no screen time and the final boss is very disappointing. Although there are many negatives to this game I can't really call it a bad game. I had a good time exploring the pizzaplex and going through its various areas. The pizzaplex itself is one of the best parts about the game. It is such a cool place to explore and look at. Security Breach does a great job of continuing the FNAF legacy while also paying homage to the previous nine FNAF games. You can tell that the developers really put everything they could into this game. There are even some fun mini-games including a very good mini golf game. However, this game is not without its flaws. The game has already received one patch and more are on the way. I’m hopeful more patches will come to reduce the number of glitches – and maybe even tone some overly challenging sections down and add a few more much-needed checkpoints. The visuals are outstanding and the audio is brilliant. This is easily the best FNAF game and hopefully, the direction they choose to make future FNAF games.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is not a game that revolutionizes survival horror. By taking up the codes of the genre without particularly original ideas, the title is intended above all for fans of the franchise who wish to learn more and more about this horrific universe filled with animatronics and secrets. Unfortunately, the many bugs, the technical issues, the lack of finish and the rather too visible tricks used by the developers to scare people make the experience difficult for others. It is nonetheless a classic horror game with some interesting sequences that will be able to please survival-horror lovers who lack titles to be consumed.
