    Great game with incredible production values and an even better soundtrack. Never thought another game could give Tears of the Kingdom a run for its money for goty, but here we are.

    I don't often give 10's, but in my opinion this game is a masterpiece... I love everything about it, the Characters, the music score (which is phenominal), the story and the gameplay and enjoyable and satisfying combat system are all excellent here. It's rare that a game grabs me like this one has, and i find myselg wanting to keep coming back to it. I hope they make a sequel set in this universe.

    it's not perfect, could use more Rpg elements & exploration.., but the action, story, characters, pacing and whole feeling is something truly special.., only few games like TLOU1/2 have achieved in the past years of narrative driving action-adventures such hights

    I put around 100 hours into the game before beating it. I cried like a **** when it was all over. I have been a Final Fantasy fan for a very long time. While each entry has it's own pros and cons, there isn't anything quite like Final Fantasy as a whole. If you're someone who likes to skip through story, please don't buy this game because you'd only be doing yourself a disservice.I put around 100 hours into the game before beating it.     Character development, voice acting, music, visuals, animations... it's all here. Final Fantasy XVI has earned itself a place in my top 5, just not sure which spot yet.    … Expand

    so so good on my ps5! runs and plays great! smooth like butter. Hoping we get a DLC soon, i'm ready for more.

    Loved the graphics, the story is interesting, love the characters, too many cutscenes but love the combat wish there was block button though. I rather play this than legend of Zelda even though im a Nintendo fan I couldn't get into that game because its too big and overwhelming things to do get side tracked to the main plot its overrated.     Ff16 is a masterpiece of a game, the combat is spot on! The wait was worth it, now I will say that I look forward to seeing a update to fix the frame rates.

    Easily the best Final Fantasy in a long while. The game really shines during the huge boss battles. I haven't seen gameplay and scope this impressive since God of War 3. The story, visuals, gameplay and music are all beyond anything seen this gen. The game really is impressive.

    Probably the best Final Fantasy ever made. The gameplay is amazing, the story is extremely compelling and the music is extremely beautiful. Yoshi-P and his team pulled off and amazing feat. :)

    Лучшая игра на PS5. Тут основной упор на сюжет и битвы больших айконов, они сделаны феноменально. Сюжетно пока одна из лучших игр в который я когда либо играл, он сам очень драматичный и эмоциональный, постановка так же хороша. Музыка от Сокена великолепна.
    Геймплей чем то похож на ДМЦ или байонету. Боевая система хорошо проработана и не даст заскучать до конца игры. И она стала чисто    Лучшая игра на PS5.     The game is top-notch! The graphics are perfect, the gameplay smart and engaging, the sounds to the point, music score brilliant. Eikon fights are EPIC, look and feel perfect. If you are looking for an engaging game, with a great story, the right mix of cutscenes, and action you are in for a treat! Don't miss this masterpiece.

    This is a great Final Fantasy game. Yes, it has action combat, but I feel it still has great tactical combat too. If you played the demo, and liked it, you should love the whole game. Story is excellent to me so far, and is umong the top FF stories for me so far.As a long time fan of this series, I am enamoured with the game. I cannot put it down.

Sometimes, yes it may be deserved, but sometimes it feels like people are just being resistant to any forward movement in a series. It used to be that you may trust user reviews more than critic reviews, but those days are in the past.

    This game is astounding, and really has the soul of Final Fantasy in it. The story is riveting and complicated (especially if you like diving deep into lore and the nuances of different nations and characters, their relationship to the story and to each other). The music is phenomenal as well, thanks to Mashayoshi Soken (the composer of the fantastic score of Final Fintasy XIV). He evenThis game is astounding, and really has the soul of Final Fantasy in it. The story is riveting and complicated (especially if you like diving deep into lore and the nuances of different nations and characters, their relationship to the story and to each other). The music is phenomenal as well, thanks to Mashayoshi Soken (the composer of the fantastic score of Final Fintasy XIV). He even wrote the music while in the hospital battling cancer! the visuals are, of course, top tier, and as usual Final Fantasy is looked at to set the bar of what's possible in gaming currently, and what the current gen systems are capable of.

    This is really one of my favorite Final Fantasy games of all time. It differs from other FF games in that it's far more action-oriented, swapping heavy stats and customizable weapons and armor for a more streamline crafting system that gives you choices but doesn't interfere too much in your performance and progression. You only control Clive, the main character, and give commands to his trusty hound, but get guest party members at different times through the story. The locales and regions you visit throughout the game are a combination of fairly large open areas to explore and story-driven corridors (not NEARLY as bad at Final Fantasy 13). Plot progression is clearly the name of the game and the driving force behind the team's decision to guide you through some simplified dungeons which lead you through room-to-room battles. Though it may seem disappointing that some area's are fairly simple in their design, the story at the end and the battles to get there definitely make up for it.

    As far as performance, I'm playing in graphics (fidelity) mode. There's a performance mode that target's 60fps, but it's far more variable and you can tell it bounces around in framerate depending on what's going on. Graphics mode is far more stable at 30fps, looks sharper and cleaner, and "shows off" the game a little more.

    My only gripe are the side quests, in how they seem to REALLY stand out in comparison to the story. All RPG's have side quests, be it fetch quests or "kill this monster and save my village", but after defeating a huge, towering God and seeing what Clive can do as he battles these massive Eikons (summons), it's a bit jarring whenyou return from one of those huge fights with ground-breaking implications on the story and have to pick up soil for a gardner who wants to grow fruit, or collect limestone to help someone make a knife. The developers try so hard to make Clive feel like a badass, and in battles and especially in the Eikon fights they succeed, but those simple quests right afterwards really put a leash on him.

    Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the game, for first-timers and old Final Fantasy veterans alike. Turn up the sound, enjoy the amazing sound effects and high-impact bass thuds of those epic fights with top-tier orchestrated music, and get lost in the world of Valisthea.    … Expand

    This isn’t the best FF game? Gtfo, if you wouldn’t think that FF4 or FF6 (arguably some of the best in the series) wouldn’t be 1000x better remade into this play style and quest design, you are insane.

    I little background. I am an old school FF player. I started with FF1 on the original NES and my favorite Final Fantasy game is Final Fantasy 6(3). I haven’t enjoyed a single player Final Fantasy since 12. Now the review.

    This game is just a perfect soup with all the right ingredients. Amazing music, addicting combat system, wonderful visuals and interesting story. Fully voice acted as well. Working on my platinum trophy and loving every second.

    I have played almost every Final Fantasy games since 1990. I enjoy how every FF game is unique and its own story. You don’t have to play any of the past games to enjoy the latest in the series. This one does a great job with combat, world building, and story. Great game and outstanding edition to this legendary series.

    As someone who’s been playing FF games since the first one came out on NES in the West, I can easily say that I love this game. While it IS a complete departure from the older games I find the combat addictive and fun. The characters and story are the main reason for my 10 score. I haven’t been this engaged in a game since Red Dead Redemption 2.

The closest approximation in terms of presentation would be Naughty Dog games. The combat is extremely fun; even in open areas where I could avoid some fights I’m seeking them out.     There are rooms for improvements, like every other video games I've played.
    But as far as enjoyment goes, Final Fantasy XVI is one of the most enjoyable Final Fantasy game I've ever played in the last 10 or more years.

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
