    I'm normally not the biggest Final Fantasy fan, but I wanted to try this one because I really liked the combat in the trailers. I must say I made the right choice to play it because it quickly became my GOTY so far this year.

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent character action-RPG with unforgettable boss fights, a tight & fluid action-combat system & an amazing story that quickly proves itself to be more than just Game of Thrones-lite & brings its own distinct feel separate from anything that came before it in the Final Fantasy franchise while still feeling like a Final Fantasy game (especially if you got intoFinal Fantasy XVI is an excellent character action-RPG with unforgettable boss fights, a tight & fluid action-combat system & an amazing story that quickly proves itself to be more than just Game of Thrones-lite & brings its own distinct feel separate from anything that came before it in the Final Fantasy franchise while still feeling like a Final Fantasy game (especially if you got into the franchise with XIV like I did). A true testament to the flexibility & ever-changing nature of the Final Fantasy franchise. Shame about the lacking difficulty & bad early-game side quests though…

    Final fantasy 16 is as close to a perfect gaming experience as any game could be. The story is engaging and the characters have personality and are extremely well acted. The developers seemed as if though they focused on a couple of key areas to perfect instead of just being good at several things. The flaws most notice are the lackluster consistency in performance mode with the framerate jumping all around but in graphics mode it is very stable and very clean. A good patch will fix up any technical issues so all in all this game shipped in a fantastic state.

    Aber diese Esper Kämpfe und die Story sind zuuuuuu krass!!!

    Historia principal terminada. Es un juegardo y un FF de la cabeza a las patas, de chocobo. La jugabilidad es brutal, muy divertida. De los combates más épicos a los que he jugado. Me daba miedo este apartado al ser un tipo de combate más hack and slash, pero se disfruta mucho y no es tan complejo como puede parecer.     This game is beyond great. The story hooks you in the very beginning and doesn't let go. The characters are well-acted and well-voiced. The music, as is always the case with Final Fantasy games, is perfection. No, it's not your turn based Final Fantasy combat, but it's better because of it. Every fight, even the ones against regular enemies is fun.

    Boss fights are taken to another level    This game is beyond great. The story hooks you in the very beginning and doesn't let go. The characters are well-acted and well-voiced. The music, as is always the case with Final Fantasy games, is perfection. No, it's not your turn based Final Fantasy combat, but it's better because of it. Every fight, even the ones against regular enemies is fun.

    Boss fights are taken to another level and have an epic feel to them. Whether its an Eikon battle or Clive vs. Big Baddie, you need to learn patterns and react quickly. There are also a lot of ways to customize your play with different Eikon abilities and charms.

    Speaking of charms, the game is accessible to anyone. If you aren't great with action games and just want the story, you can put on charms to help you auto-dodge, heal, etc. If you want a challenge, leave them all off. You don't need to have ever played any other Final Fantasy games to hop into this one, but there are a lot of fun easter eggs if you have played the rest.

    The visuals are stunning. From the cities, to character models, to lush forests, it's a joy to just take in the scenery. The people downvoting the game likely have never played it and are engaging in petty "console wars." There is almost nothing not to like about this game if you are a fan of JRPGs and/or action style games. I've put 20 hours into it so far, and can't wait to play more.    … Expand

    FFXVI takes the franchise in a new direction. The music soundtrack and vocoe acting is top tier. The story starts of really well with a mix of political intrigue and fantasy

    This game is truly a work of art. Yoshida brought us yet another profound story with many diverse aspects. People complaining about the amount of cutscenes just don’t have the patience to enjoy the rich story and lore. 9/10 because although the side quests bring interesting perspectives, they aren’t always that fun to do.

    The game is just brilliant, new gameplay, a big amount of opción y in abilities. The story just wow, kinda feels GOT. This is so refreshing to see FF franchise innovations and taking risk. GOTY for me

    this game is great and yes it has some problems (for example rpg elements are not 100%) but still this game is very beautiful.(even one of the best final fantasy games ever)
    some fanboys and man childs just give low ratings for no reason because they love another game much more.

    Combate está maravilhoso, bem melhor que a confusão do final fantasy xv, a história é sólida e mais madura, a trilha sonora como sempre não decepciona, a única coisa que tenho a criticar são as quedas de frames, de resto está perfeito.

    Been playing 60hr and i love it.
    Story give me chills and combat are awesome.
    I like old combat system too but it's cool to have an FF with action combat too.

    Amazing graphics, cinematics, action, eikon and boss fights are epic, performance is perfectly fine if you have a tv that supports that high performance, music is beautiful, so far everything is just perfect, I don’t get the 0 ratings at all and I think speaking this bad about an obviously beautiful game is ridiculous and got something to do with their personal issues    Breathtaking game

    el mejor juego del año para mi y de los mejores que e jugado, buena historia, persoanjes, graficas, jugabilidad y en especial la musica, no hay ningun otro juego que te tenga tanto hype en una boss battle como este y sera dificil de experimentar en otros juegos algo asi despues de jugar este.

Le jeu n'est pas parfait, tout comme aucun autre FF ne l'est, même le vénéré FFVII a des défauts et ça en fait quand même un jeu super, pour remettre les choses en perspective.     FFXVI est mature et s'adresse à un public large, mais aussi plus âgé que les anciens jeux. Il s'est modernisé dans son storytelling et ses graphismes. Il s'adresse aux adultes, est sombre, n'a pas pour vocation de censurer la noirceur de son histoire par le biais d'un style graphique daté ou des dialogues infantilisants ; ça en fait une force à mes yeux.

    Cela fait un peu plus d'une semaine que le jeu est sorti, je l'ai fini ce matin et il y a pour moi tous les éléments principaux d'un Final Fantasy réussi :
    - Des personnages attachants
    - Des musiques jonglant entre calme et grandeur épique, avec le thème des FF revenant régulièrement en leitmotiv
    - Des Primordiaux magnifiques et imposants, réellement terrifiants à l'échelle d'un humain seul
    - De la démesure dans les combats
    - Un héros humain qui ne se prétend pas dénué d'émotions pour être fort et convaincants
    - Les marques traditionnelles des FF dans les noms, terminologies et le bestiaire
    - Des monstres secondaires puissants à tuer juste pour la gloire
    - Un excellent storytelling pour une histoire épique, abordant un emblème des Final Fantasy sous un angle différent

    Un Final Fantasy réussi, donc.
    Rien à faire du tour par tour, ça n'a jamais été un critère, des jeux en tour par tour y'en a une palanquée en dehors des FF, et on peut pas réduire un jeu à ça. Les frustrés savent que c'est pas pour eux, mais ils restent, juste pour faire ouin-ouin alors qu'on savait des années avant la sortie qu'ils allaient être pas contents. Rendu là, on s'attend à rien.

    Cela dit, le jeu a quelques points négatifs quand même, pas ultra méchants mais qui peuvent baisser la note générale :
    - Les quêtes secondaires ont des animations digne d'une vieille PS3, on dirait des ports de FFXIV sur FFXVI avec des meilleurs graphismes presque.
    - Le système de craft est vraiment pas ouf, trop simpliste avec pas grand chose de personalisable, ni aucun intérêt à avoir des niveaux de rareté différents.
    - Les rouleaux d'orchestrion sont là juste pour qu'on use de nos gils, autrement on les dépense pas pour ainsi dire ; c'est dommage qu'il n'y ait rien de vraiment très important à acheter.

    Bref, pour moi c'est une réussite. Les points négatifs soulevés ne retirent rien à mon expérience de l'histoire et de la trame principale qui est époustouflante, prenant facilement une place dans mon top 3 des FF. Et mon Dieu, ces musiques, merci Soken !

    Great Game! It's dark, fun, and looks fantastic. This game is amazing. I've been a fan of The Final Fantasy series since 9 was released. For me personally it's an easy 10! Lots of monsters, bosses to fight with, lots of great characters!

    - the OST is beyond fantastic, elevating the already enjoyable story
    - the Active Time Lore is a great QOL feature that I would love to see more

    Cons
    - side quests are largely generic and meh, the good ones being back loaded before the final mission
    - the pacing suffers at points thanks to the game inventing banal problems for you to solve (Goetz and his trader pass for example)

    This might be the coldest I've ever felt about a game before release only for it to blow me completely away. As somebody who played every mainline entry in the series, and somebody who also loves DMC, dropping the RPG genre and becoming an action game was worrying but god damn did the risk pay off.

    The combat in this game feels so goddamn smooth and looks so fantastic. What the game lost in the RPG department it gained in ability customization as you can change the way you interact with the combat by swapping your abilities and bases for those abilities at the drop of the hat. This is also helped by the fact that respecing is free of charge which encourages experimentation.

    The story… wow. Hearing how cutscene heavy this game was got me beyond excited and boy did it not disappoint. This game is not afraid to take its sweet time telling its story and allowing you to fall in love with the various players in it. And honestly, it is a stand out after stand out.

    Dion, Byron, Gav, Tarja, Martha, Quinten, L'ubor, Charon, Otto and more are fantastically designed and directed characters that will never have you confused on who they are and what they want. It truly is a testament to how strong the story is since they and their names don't end up in an incomprehensible mess in my own head.

    And when the story decides to be epic, oh once again, it accomplishes that with beyond flying colors. Supported by a heart pumping OST, from the awe inspiring Ikon battles to the quiet character moments, the game never trips up with awkward dialogue or voice acting.

    I genuinely had to try to find blemishes but by the end, two have become readily apparent. Besides the final batch of sidequests, most of the side content in this game feels quite generic. And while I get that moments of excitement have to be counterbalanced by moments of quiet respite, sometimes the game goes a bit too heavy handed and trips up its own pace by inventing unimportant trouble that you the main character have to deal with (once again, Goetz and his traders pass).

    So yeah, is this game perfect? No just like every other piece of media in existence. But is it a good time? Nope, it is a fantastic time. What a ride to finally play something that feels worthy of the AAA designation. Beautiful new step towards the future of the series.    … Expand

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
