    If only this game had more RPG-related mechanics and better loot incentives to explore the world and perhaps playable party members outside of just Clive and sort of Toragal? Such as Jill, Cid, etc. then we truly could have had a true 'god game' masterpiece on our hands. Insane over-the-top boss fights the likes of which are the best I've come across in terms of spectacle and cinematic flair, but not necessarily for mechanical complexity or difficulty which I think this game should have embraced more.… Expand

    Fantastic story, great combat system, and a return to medieval high fantasy. This is right up there with Final Fantasy 6 and Seven for quality. Final Fantasy is back!

    It always surprises me how whiney people are. Ignore the review bombs and see the real reviews. The game is amazing and has a great soundtrack. It can now be held as one of my favorite final fantasy games of all time. Yes it’s that good. I know I saw a few people not liking the story, but the story is one of the best in a long time.

    Anyone giving this game below an 8 or 7 is salty or trolling. Just because the game isn't on Xbox doesn't mean it's not a good game. Just because you personally don't like the combat, story, characters etc, doesn't mean the whole thing isn't still amazing. Reviewers should really try and be more objective.     One of the greatest game I ever played. The story is fascinating, as long as one immerses oneself in it, thanks to the tools and characters in the game (Active Time Lore, Tomes, Viviane). I've experienced the most emotional moments of my life in a video game. The gameplay gets richer as the adventure progresses, which means you never get bored.

    It’s an amazing journey and you need to play this game, it’s the best game of the year so far and the best Current-Gen (Ps5) experience.

    You feel the epic and never get bored all along the game (I found the secondary quest even fun, as I found myself to have never skipped the dialogue)

    Final Fantasy XVI is a gorgeous action rpg packed with phenomenal spectacles. The story is amazing, gameplay likewise and the scenery is unmatched. Definitely game of the year for me.

    Great game! I had been looking forward to this for a while. I mostly started with the Final Fantasy series back on original Playstation, and I personally enjoy the switch to a more action based combat. Many reviews seem to be noting the combat as only requiring one button, which leads me to believe people are accidentally utilizing the accessibility amulets provided in game. TheyGreat game! They automatically perform certain important actions during combat for those that may have difficulty managing a more action-based combat. These are for accessibility and will make combat less interactive, so don't utilize them if you're wanting more difficulty. I normally don't leave ratings but felt I needed to with many Xbox fans leaving negative reviews because their failing console only has a couple decent games.… Expand

    Amazing entry in the historic franchise that harkens back to the series’ foundational roots while simultaneously pushing the series forward in innovation especially in terms of mature themes and combat.

    Absolutely fantastic combat. Ignore the haters who want turn based combat, you won't regret it. Deep story and fantastic cast of characters.

    well the story is great and combat is somewhat good and the graphics is top notch just wish it can expand even more or use it's party members like in FF7Remake where they utilize your party oh yeah and to combat this review bomb LOL

    Game can surprise you over and over again. Perfect balance between narrative and combat. You not gonna be annoying by combat at all. When I getting tired from battles game provided me story, and when I getting tired from the story it giving me combat.     Really smooth game difficult, you can un-wear rings to make it hard or wear it back to make it more casual.
    Storyline is solid and completed with all explanation about motivation of antagonists and protagonists.
    Boss battles are phenomenal, immersivity so deep and smooth that you can feel every movement you doing in game!

    One of the best visuals in games.
    Solid and completed story.
    Amazing combat system.

    Final Fantasy XVI is an excellent game in every way. If you're a fan of the series for the stories and characters, you won't go wrong here, and if you've avoided the series for, say, turn-based combat, the sixteenth installment offers the perfect opportunity to get started with this legend of the gaming industry.     New numbered FFs are good again. Stunning to look at, with new, punchy combat, and a great yarn, it is, if anything, too focussed, lacking a bit of the weird. [Issue#30, p.78]
